This is the best Best Western I have ever experienced in the U.S. Wow, first of all: competent front staff, obviously happy with their work which reflects positively on management. Sharon, Raichel and Amy were absolutely delightful! Room very clean and spacious with a grand bay window that not only opens (yay) but sneak ocean views too. Great shower pressure, comfortable beds and large refrigerator not like most hotels. Breakfast made my husband happy with Jimmy Dean products but me also for a change as quite perfectly made hard boiled eggs! Then there are the divine koi in the front lobby next to the desk. What more could one ask for. Oh that too, easy parking, a well maintained parking lot with carts that aren't ancient and almost not needed as so easy from car to elevator. Could be our home away from home though unfortunately a lot of miles away. We will be back! …

We really enjoyed our stay. Pretty basic hotel, but nice staff, and clean, and a decent price. The property is clearly older, but in fairly decent shape. Our room was a very good size. We were right by the breakfast area, and were worried that it would be too loud in the morning, but it was fine. Shouldn’t be an issue at all for other rooms. The breakfast was fine - pancakes, Jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches, fruit, cereal and some other stuff. I think they have different offerings on different days, but we were only there one night. Our stay was as expected, would stay again.

Every aspects are better than I thought, room is spacious and clean, very friendly staff. Breakfast is good too. Stayed 2 nights and overall is very satisfactory, will return when I travel there again.

This hotel is a pretty decent stay up in Monterey. The breakfast, free parking and wifi are a plus as well. The room had a pull out sofa, king sized bed, Keurig coffee machine, microwave and refrigerator (all great amenities). Unfortunately there is no air conditioning. Most of the time you do not need it but if you want fresh air and open the windows there is a lot of community and street noise.

Rooms in the front of hotel face a busy street. You have to open windows to get fresh air making it extremely noisy. Walls are thin, doors are heavy and slam shut adding more noise every time someone enters/leaves the room. A guest was allowed to check in with a dog that continuously barked as the owner left it attended. This was addressed after the first night. The mattress is high,not firm, moves when you try to get into bed, making it hard if you have hip/back or knee problems. Breakfast is chaotic as the space is too small for the amount of people trying to get to the food. I had to take the tray back to my room to eat.

To be honest, we usually stay at a different Best Western when in Monterey, but accidentally booked the De Anza. Although we always liked the other one, I think the De Anza will now be our first choice. While it could use a bit of updating as far as the rooms are concerned, they're still clean, nice, comfortable, and quiet. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Parking is ample, the breakfast is the standard free and not-that-good-but-fine-for-what-it-is free breakfast. The internet is adequate, a bit slow at times but worked well enough. One of the best parts is the location. It's easy to get to and there are several restaurants in walking distance, a very good one right next door. There is also a CVS right across the street which is convenient if you need something. Overall, if you're Best Western regulars, this is a good choice for Monterey.…

The hotel stay was great no issues as expected. They serve only continental breakfast just as fyi. I was not aware of that just say-in. Other than that, everything else was good. The front desk recognized my Diamond status and offered me water. Enjoy your stay.

My stay at best western was very satisfying. Not only was the staff polite and helpful, but they also greeted you everything you entered and the cleaning staff would give you the needed necessities if you asked. The place was very nice and the pool was enjoyable. The inclusion of breakfast was a plus and delicious would recommend to take advantage of this. Overall the experience was awesome.

I always stay here once a year. This year, after checking in, the keys did not work. I went down stairs and received two new keys which did not work. The manager let us in, but did not offer to move us, but said she would let us in. She eventually moved us, but the following morning , we walked next door to eat and upon return, the keys did not work. We needed another set to to get in to check out. Very disappointed this time as it is a nice hotel. PS, I emailed the manager and heard nothing back in 5 days
