We came here last week before Christmas Eve for a camping experience and we really really LOVE this place so much. The airstreams are comfortable and clean. It’s so nice to have a private room, living space, huge bathroom (that you never think how big in the airstream can do), lovely kitchenette and a fire. Also, the staff is so helpful and friendly. Trust us AutoCamp is the best place to stay in Midpines, CA!!

Location: 45minutes to 1 hour to Yosemite Valley entrace. If you are planning to visit the viewpoints, it might be longer. For example, we traveled about 1.5 hours to get to Glacier Point.

Service: Excellent staff, they are friendly. Shoutout to Madison and Cynthia.

Airstream: Premium means just being distanced from other airstreams, you have more privacy and you get to have an umbrella. It’s not sparkling clean, some of the pillowcases smelled sweaty and musty and saw some thread of hairs in the linen. The airstream is packed with supplies including an cast iron skillet, extra blankets and cooking utensils.
The air filter of the AC is super dusty, it needs a clean up for sure.

Price: More expensive than usual stay. We paid around $400 per night. With that price, you’d think it would include the wood for the fireplace. They only allow certain wood that could be bought by the front desk. We paid another $21, Green Wood Mountain that supposes to be smokeless but it wasn’t. I suggest you bring your own profane camping stove if you are planning to cook.

Thank you for staying with us at AutoCamp Yosemite. We appreciate you taking the time to share thoughts about your stay with our future guests. We do offer several options for your campfire. Goodwood is priced at $8/bundle, and Green Mountain is priced at $20 (you can get two fires or one long one out of the Green Mountain). While they aren't designed to be smoke-free, they do help us control sparks that can lead to forest fires while still allowing our guests to have campfires up here in the Sierras. Thank you for the notes on the linens and air filter; we will work with the Housekeeping team to correct those concerns. I look forward to sharing your shoutouts to the team! Please come see back and see us soon.

Me and my partner stayed here during a roadtrip in March
Yosemite was closed due to Covid -19 and we do Didn’t have a lot to do

The accommodation was very comfortable with a lovely view of a pond and seemed quite secluded. The bbq and outsole seating area was great to have a drink and food

There was literally minimal amount to do as everything in mariposa was also closed down. We chose to get the bbq kits for two nights at around $60 dollars per night. We had chicken and steak on each night. This comes with two sides (ranch beans and veg/quinoa) , cornbread and a caramel apple dessert. It seems expensive but you get a lot and we couldn’t finish it both nights. We bought our own alcohol and bacon/bread/sausage ect for breakfast

They offer bicycles for rent (free) and have a pool and clubhouse which unfortunately weren’t open while we were there due to social distancing

The airstream we were in was right next to a pond and throughout the night all we could hear were hundreds of frogs. This may be irritating to some but we found it quite relaxing and all part of the experience

We will Definitely be back or stay at another one of their campsites

Thanks for visiting us at the onset of our challenging times! So sorry Yosemite and most businesses in Mariposa were closed for safety precautions, but I am glad you managed to enjoy some solitude, relaxing into the AutoCamp experience. Hopefully your last chance to get out and about provided some nice memories that will last until we get back to normal. Please come back and see us when this passes to get the full experience! Cheers and stay safe.

We originally booked a luxury glamping tent, but the heat wave was at its peak so we called in a few day before arrival to upgrade to an airstream or cabin, since they have AC. We were told at the time that they were booked, but upon arrival we had been upgraded to an airstream. This level of customer service alone has guaranteed that we will stay at Autocamps during our outdoorsy trips. We have tried a few Undercanvas locations, but find Autocamp to superior in customer service, quality and amenities.

The air stream smelled of old cigarettes and frebreze, which reminded me of motel and RV rentals, but to be expected when clientele don’t follow the rules; very difficult for Autocamp to control. The AC helped mitigate this problem, but we did feel very conscious of how much AC was being used throughout the property; not very eco-friendly, but it was 112 F outside.

The bed was a memory foam mattress. Not too soft, yet firm enough for a stomach sleeper. No bad mold/mildewy smells, clean sheets, and just enough bedding.

The park is located 1 hour from the west ENTRANCE of Yosemite NP. So if you're goal is to hike inside the park every day, this may not be the best location since it is minimally 2 hours driving to and from the entrance. However, we'd stay here again, if we were going to enjoy foothills/river/foothill towns such as Mariposa.

I didn’t try any of their food, but plenty of gourmet frozen or dehydrated culinary options for a hefty price for convenience. There is complimentary tea, coffee, and granola cereal every morning. Didn’t try the food but coffee and tea are adequate for an outdoorsy trip.

The furniture was clean modern and comfortable. The patio swing was relaxing. There is also a pool, which wasn't loud at all and appeared clean.

Parking is located at the front of the property, so you must use a wagon cart to carry your luggage (possibly up a hill) to your room. This didn't bother us too much, but for those with disabilities or who are unprepared and bring luggae on wheels, be warned.

Autocamp takes “glamping” to the next level. Check in was a breeze and we wheeled our luggage in carts to our amazing airstream. We upgraded to the premier suite and it was money very well spent. We had a much more private location than the Classic and enjoyed having more space away from our neighbors. We came from the Bay Area so we brought all our own food in a cooler and kept perishables in the mini fridge. We also brought charcoal for cooking and compressed logs for s’mores and hanging out by the fire. While you could buy everything you needed in the Clubhouse, we appreciated being more self sufficient. We also brought a few cooking utensils but again you could easily get by with what they provided. The airstream itself was very well designed. The bathroom shower got hot and had good water pressure which was exactly what we needed after a long day hiking. The bed was also super comfy. We took advantage of the bar and ordered beers and cooled off in the pool. Overall for anyone looking for a luxurious get away but still having a camping experience this is the place to go!

We spent 5 days there during spring break and had a wonderful time! We had vista cabin by the pond and the boys loved watching the (huge!) frogs and tadpoles. They spent an hour at least at the pool and even met friends who they hung out with during the week! How nice is that? Adults all say hello and how are you when they walk by. That’s the warm and friendly vibe we loved about Autocamp.

The clubhouse provided the modern convenience when we needed it in the natural, rustic setting! The cabin was sleek and clean, stocked with everything we needed to cook, eat, clean, bundle up and wash up. We enjoyed nightly s’mores with our own cabin fireplace and cooked with our own grill by the pond — didn’t feel at risk in anyway during a pandemic.

The service was impeccable. They answered your text questions and requests promptly and were always helpful when we needed help. I love the staff! We will definitely book another Autocamp stay.

Location is 8 minutes from Mariposa and about 45 from Yosemite entrance but not in anyway inconvenient. We got around easily with our car without delays and were relieved we didn’t stay within Yosemite and had more freedom to eat and explore Mariposa.

One improvement I’d suggest is the shower area can use a little more bleach but it’s not bad. Also, just a wish list: Stock the pond with some fish and enforce a catch and release policy! That’s be so fun! My kids were practicing their casting but with no fish to catch. Don’t worry, we didn’t harm any frogs!

The place is not just a hotel! Its a camp! We did not really comprehend the concept until we stayed there and we really loved it! We stayed in a trailer and we had to bbq our own dinner on the fire that we lit ourselves! It’s something that brings another level to hotel stay. In terms of facility, it’s great. The only input that I have to the hotel is that they should probably top up the complimentary wood fire daily and consider to do daily cleaning as well. But overall, this is an experience that I will do again!

It sounds like you had a fun adventure at AutoCamp, and we appreciate your feedback. Our goal is for our guests to connect with the outdoors and each other, and dinner around the fire pit makes that a reality for all involved. Thank you for the feedback about offering unlimited firewood and daily cleaning. While we could certainly offer those services, we also want to keep pricing approachable for all who would like to visit AutoCamp. We do offer daily, by-request housekeeping for a nominal charge. Please do come back and see us soon!

We stayed in a vista accessible suite. It was great. Why we picked it over an airstream is that it had a detachable shower head and a cooktop. Another plus is that it has a gas fire pit on the deck. The view was great of the pond and we didn’t feel too close to our neighbors. The vista airstreams were uphill, the premium airstreams were by the pond and the classic airstreams were in the front of the property. Those were all very close to each other and would require an uphill walk to the clubhouse.

There was free granola and milk for breakfast in the clubhouse. There was also coffee, tea, hot chocolate and apple cider during the day. Limited food menu available so better to bring food to cook. The bar has happy hour and beers were $5 and wine $7. The curated camp store was very expensive so pack accordingly. Pool was closed since it’s winter but looked nice. Plenty of bikes on property to borrow. Overall considering how close a lot of the airstreams are to each other it was very quiet most of the time.

The only con of this place is that the price is on the higher end. We stayed during the off season which I would recommend. Yosemite, about an hour drive, is so beautiful and less crowded at this time. The price for AutoCamp was also more reasonable at this time. I don’t think it would be worth the money for high season prices. You’re definitely paying for an experience and it is not comparable to a 5 star hotel. There’s no daily cleaning service. My family and I did enjoy ourselves and accommodations were very comfortable.

Wow where do I begin! First off ...stay here!!! And I’ll tell you why,

Nothing is more fun than staying in an airstream where you have the luxury of a hotel room but the rustic outdoors at your doorstep! I fell in love with waking up and sitting outside by the lake with my coffee in hand getting breakfast ready over our outdoor fire pit! Then we would go hiking for the day and come back to sip wine and cook dinner again over the fire! Loved it!! The airstreams are very clean and had all the amenities that you might need, anything else can easily be purchased from the clubhouse!

The staff is the next reason. They are easily available by text and are so nice!! I re-injured a college knee injury and was hobbling around and the staff did all they could to help and make sure we had everything we needed.

Lastly is the location, only about an hour from Yosemite valley and wawona trails! It is also only about 10 minutes from Mariposa which had lots of cute stores and places to eat (if you’re not feeling like cooking!)

Thank you so much to everyone there who made our stay the best it could be considering the Covid shutdowns. I definitely want to return post shut down and maybe in the summer to enjoy that beautiful pool!!

This place is a huge disappointment. 1. It's a good hour from Yosemite. 2. It's dirty. I am so glad I packed disinfectant cleaner, although I didn't think at these rates I would have to throughly clean one cabin. 3. They forget to put half the things they listed on the video in your actual room. If you want those items, you have to walk down a hot dirty path to get it from the admin. This includes matches for lighting your grill...coffee..etc 4. They upsell you on everything, which is nuts considering the rates. 5. They should help you take your items with the multiple golf carts they have. Nope, they make you take multiple trips with a radio flyer wagon up long dirt roads. 6. The views are just meh. Nothing to write home about.

5 star price 3 star quality at best.

Good afternoon. Thank you for choosing AutoCamp your recent visit to Yosemite. So sorry to hear some of your expectations were not met. We are located in Midpines, which is 26 miles to the Arched Rock Ranger Station on the 140 entrance to Yosemite. It takes a little more than half an hour to get there, and the entire drive is quite scenic. We certainly apologize if you assumed we were located inside the park. We have deeply enhanced our cleaning standards since we reopened, and our team is working diligently to ensure all safety precautions laid out by the CDC and county are met. Again, we apologize if you feel we fell short in this area. While I cannot speak to the summertime heat, I will admit that we are located in a mountain setting, and the forests and pathways are not kept as clean as a hotel with interior corridors. We are definitively a campsite, and we tend to allow the outdoors to remain as such. Again, we are sorry your expectations were not met, but they are duly noted. As a note to future guests, we have ordered a guest vehicle to assist with those who require assistance reaching their suite. Perhaps you can give us another chance in the fall. Things cool down quite a bit, and the rates are far less competitive in the off season. Thank you kindly for your feedback.

Yes, you can request, but a lot depends on other pre existing reservations. The folks at the front desk at Yosemite AutoCamp are wonderful and will do every thing they can to accommodate your requests. Weather in Yosemite in April can be pretty cool. I've been there during mid April, and one year the falls were still partly frozen, but they were gorgeous, so there really isn't a bad time to go. Check Yosemite @ nps.gov in advance because with Covid, even day passes had to be reserved. Don't wait till the last moment to do that. Enjoy your visit!

AutoCamp only has a small snack bar open , chips and stuff. Mariposa is 6 mi away and has lots to choose from including a market with deli. In Yosemite you’ll find the general store as well as the grill next door is in operation.

What (if any) additional measures are you taking during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Answer from Jason Brannan
Midpines, California
As a campground, we have inherent social distancing. All units are separate from one another with separate ventilation/HVAC systems and private outdoor spaces. We have remote check in and check out options available to all guests. Key pickup is on the outside of our Clubhouse, which we are limiting to 50% occupancy. We have suspended our F&B program, but we do still offer an online shop to purchase groceries to be placed in your suite prior to arrival. We are following all CDC guidelines for cleaning standards across the property, and we are enforcing CA state guidelines with regards to non-essential travel and campsites. We hope to see you soon!

If you are in the AutoCamp probably ok but their rules say you cannot leave then unattended at all. Dogs are ok in Yosemite on paved roads. We took our dogs with us everywhere.
