This hotel is a hidden gem. Better than the pricey Hotel Los Gatos and Toll House Hotel. I’ve stayed at all three hotels and the Garden Inn is by far my favorite. So much charm and character. An easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay again.
The bed was very uncomfortable. Hated the cereal bars for breakfast. Be very aware if you book more than one room, we booked two rooms to be paid separately on checkout (as we were checking out at different times). That did not happen, what actually happened was a total mess, the staff despite their promises , overcharged both couples. It has taken us nearly three months of constant emails and messages to get the refund owing to us, at one point they said the they “had a difficult two years”. Well, haven’t we all, no excuse for keeping the refund for three months!
Booked one night as we were traveling through the area. Check in was fast and friendly. Room was very clean and in good repair. The bed was decent and slept quite comfortably. The courtyard area is nice with an inviting sitting area. Walking distance to shopping, cafes and restaurants. Parking is off street in their lot. It's a little tight, no issues with parking early. We returned from a concert late and did manage to find one spot we were able to squeeze into. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Stayed here for a few days while visiting friends in the area. Loved the proximity to downtown Los Gatos. Great people watching in the seating area. Clean and spacious rooms. Walls are thin but not a big issue. Walkable to lots of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Very helpful staff. We'd definitely stay there again when in the area.
This is our go-to place to stay when we visit Los Gatos. It is dated and “old-school”, but they’ve kept the facility in great shape. The front desk is helpful and accommodating. We booked a small room which was sufficient for our needs. Our room was exceptionally clean. We appreciated the mini fridg e, Keurig and microwave. There is also a desk with a comfortable chair. We love the spacious patio - it’s a great place to read and relax. The location is perfect with proximity to downtown and restaurants, as well as the Los Gatos Creek Trail for recreation. We highly recommend Los Gatos Garden Inn!
We stayed here for a couple of days in September. 2 people in a Queen bed courtyard room. The room is TINY. One nightstand for two people really isn’t enough. The bathroom had silver tape in the ceiling. The AC worked great. But trim missing in the ceiling just made it feel like it was under renovation and not finished place to occupy. It’s the best location of any hotel around. Fabulous restaurants and walking trails super close by. But the small room and “not finished” feeling was not very fun. I think I’ll stay at a different hotel next time.
Garden Inn of Los Gatos is right in the middle of the town of Los Gatos, a charming and quaint walkable town! The staff of the Inn are knowledgeable and accommodating. This was a very relaxing atmosphere to unwind and enjoy our travels.
The location is good quite close the center where there are restorants and shops, is nice to walk to there. The room are nice mini apartments with a simple kitchen. The forniture are old but comfortable. A little bit expensive for the offer but is ok.
Beware Beware of these items at this hotel: Cook Bacon not the Books ! I was Robbed ! I was bumped from my reservation at one rate then they made me pay at a higher rate which is illegal and is called price fixing, basically I saw the lower rate and booked at that rate and even double checked it,,, then when I got there that / my room was given to someone else, and the lady in the office / bookkeeper who also runs the front office too was quite rude to say the least and looks like she is cooking the books. The room I had the paint was peeling off in the bathroom walls which is pretty bad and is a violation of health codes they can fix or re-paint the bathrooms at a minimal price, but I guess not they are pinching pennies but for these critical items they must correct by law. The towels looked dirty and didn't smell clean they were stained... they could easily correct this problem, again just lazy and the management doesn't look nor care. They also have gross vending machine items for breakfast and old stale fruit which I had a orange and it had mold on it. How hard is it to get fresh fruit its easy and just laziness again of the hotel management, and the soda machine didn't work all out of soda's these simple items can be addressed on a daily basis again don't care but all they care about is taking MORE money than you should be paying which is illegal price fixing is a no no. As for breakfast they could easily have a nice muffin or pastry or even oatmeal for breakfast but probably doesn't want to pay a few pennies more to make their customers happy with a continental breakfast even a doughnut would be good, not crackers or stale granola bars pretty bad. The bed I had was hard as a rock my back hurt for the rest of the day. I think the worst thing I experienced was in the bathroom and saw the grounds worker look in my window that was pretty disturbing come to think of it beyond disturbing. This hotel needs to rally oust these people that are stealing money and fix the essentials in this hotel.…
We stayed in Room 21 for 1 night (it's the room with the flower bedspread in the hotel's traditional patio photos). The room was clean and comfortable. There was enough room for 2 people to move about. We had no trouble coming in at 11 p.m. and finding a place to park. We appreciated the secure entrances and the well lit patio area. We wished we were staying longer as the patio would be a nice place to relax with a glass of wine and/or a book. We enjoyed lunch across the street at the Southern Kitchen. If we're ever back this way and need a place to stay -without hesitation the Garden Inn hotel would be our choice. In other reviews I read something about a child's size toilet. This is not true. Neither one of us is a "small" person and we did not have any trouble using the toilet. In regard to the parking, yes if you park in a spot on the driveway coming in - you would have to back out and go to the end to change direction but I couldn't see where that would be a problem unless you were trying to park a boat in one of those spaces. As I said we had no trouble and we have a mid size SUV. We did not notice any noise coming in from an adjoining room. We had no trouble going right to sleep and staying asleep the entire night. The bed was a little stiffer than I like but my husband felt it was softer. While there was coffee in the room, the coffee selection in the lobby was larger and varied. I would imagine you could choose from there if you wanted. They had fruit and granola bars to help ones self to. The lobby was clean and welcoming. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. This is a beautiful old hotel and we were very happy we chose to stay here. Again without hesitation we'd stay there again.…
