We visited Los Angeles for a night as part of a road trip we were taking down the West Coast and decided to stay in Venice Beach. We had booked a stay at another hotel, which we had been told was in proximity to some parking garages but found out upon arrival that was not as convenient as they had let on. We went searching for a last-minute solution on Hotels.com and found Hotel Erwin. We ended up having a wonderful stay!
Hotel Erwin has valet parking, which was so important to us as there weren't a lot of parking options in the area and a lot of garages had limited hours. Check-in was quick and smooth, despite us having made our reservation only minutes before arriving. The front desk staff was friendly and offered us a room at the front corner of the hotel, as long as we didn't mind a little extra noise from the nearby staircase during the Red Bull event they were having. We were fine with that and the view from our room ended up being spectacular, especially at sunset!
We had booked a Standard, Ocean View room, which was very spacious and had a funky, modern vibe. The king bed was very comfortable. There was a small seating area near the balcony of the room. The balcony had chairs and a small table, and a beautiful view of the beach area. The bathroom had a large shower and a nice-sized counter around the sink for toiletries.
The room rate was $360.05, which was reasonable for a nice hotel in the area. We would definitely stay at Hotel Erwin again next time we're in Venice Beach!

Me and my family live in the San Fernando valley. My fiancé works from home due to the covid -19 situation so we decided to get out of the house for the weekend and picked hotel Erwin. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and noticed they were practicing social distancing and had cleaning crews on hand. That made us feel great. We were greeted by miguel who began to check us in. He went above and beyond to make sure we got the best rate possible and with his positive, great and funny personality we felt extremely comfortable and we hadn’t even checked in. He made sure through out our stay we didn’t need anything . I own a commercial plumbing company and customer service to me is extremely important so seeing miguel go above and beyond was very impressive. Thank you miguel. We appreciate you and the hotel Erwin staff. One last thing upon checking out we spoke with Brooke Mitchell and she to had outstanding customer service, knowledge very sweet and attentive. We explained That were coming back the following week and immediately her amazing customer service skills went in to play giving us all the info we needed and the options on rooms that would benefit the following weekends event. On top of the hotel and rooms being extremely clean speaking with miguel and Brooke really made us feel welcomed and definitely are returning due to again amazing customer service. Good service is hard to find now or days. It’s in a prime spot everything at walking distance from everything. You must check this place out.

We were selling our home and needed an our new apt, in Marina Del Rey was full of unpacked boxes. We planned on just staying for one night but then extended our stay past the weekend. Why? Because the location was incredible, room service just what the Dr ordered, and the mini bar was perfect and there was always enough coffee in our room in the morning before heading out. Customer service went above and beyond with all kinds of extras - such as fresh fluffy towels each day. I had my birthday party on the Rooftop when this place first opened. Now it will be my ‘hideaway’ when I need to work on a writing project or if and when we ever have work done on our place. Highly recommend. The staff is top knot Ha!

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. Our team reached out to Hotel Erwin to see if they'd be willing to accommodate us for a livestreamed DJ event from their rooftop. Not only were they willing to work with us, Amy, Derek, and Miguel went above and beyond in ensuring that the experience was smooth, unforgettable, and a success. Every interaction that we had with the hotel and their staff was professional, friendly, and helpful.
The hotel itself is situated in the heart of Venice Beach and our rooms gave us incredible views of the beach and the sunsets - the balcony views painted a gorgeous backdrop to the livestream itself and provided a safe, quarantined spot for us to do our a thing while still feeling like we were a part of something interactive and vibrant. The rooms were clean, as were the towels and sheets and the beds were comfy. I'd definitely recommend trying some of the pizza from the Venice Way Pizzeria on the first floor if you're looking for a snack.
A million thanks to Hotel Erwin and their magnificent team - can't wait to visit Venice Beach again.

Cute and modern hotel with walking distance from the beach! Beginning to the end this was a great staycation for my BF and I. Complementary coffee was delicious, and our room was super clean. Hand sanitizer stations available for guest all over the hotel, and staff wore face masks at all times. We felt safe during our whole stay. Great staff (Huge thanks to Alejandra Ruelas for making our booking process so easy!) she’s your to-go person hands down. This is why I love small hotels, the intimacy and attention to guests they offer is amazing!

This hotel is refusing to correct an issue I have had with the call center they use for reservations. The call center provided incorrect information for booking resulting in the business owing over $1000 for an unused room. I was never able to get through to the front desk despite calling multiples times during business hours. I also never received email confirmations despite them confirming the correct email and requesting the emails multiple times.
This has been by far the worst experience I have ever had with a business. They are saying that they are not responsible for issues made by their call center despite it not being clear that when you speak with them that your are not actually speaking with the hotel. The hotel will not return my calls and the front desk has no ability to remedy the situation.
Use caution when working directly with the hotel and you should likely go through a third party booking service.

Miguel was friendly, professional, and proactive! He offered us beach towels, football and frisbees to take to the beach too! Forgot our mask a couple times and he gave us some . Very approachable person.
Valet parking was easy and we were able to hop in and out of car with ease.
We slept well and were pleasantly surprised how close beach was. We will definitely come back!

Hotel Erwin has been a fav for years just because of its rooftop bar, High. But I finally had a chance to stay there and it was excellent! Yes, it is in the heart of Venice Beach and its loud when the balcony door is open. But when you close that door, ... silence. You can party upstairs then come downstairs to peace and quiet above the fray.
The room was big, beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Just as you would expect from a $300 a night hotel. We had a 6th floor, north facing room with miles of amazing views: ocean, beach, mountain, and city views. We watched gorgeous sunsets.
The Hotel gives free water, and free bicycles. The cafe downstairs has great food and a full bar, in case you don't want to walk a few feet to one of the many bars around there.
The front desk staff were truly stellar. Miguel and Hugo, and the rest of their staff made our stay comfortable, safe, and really fun. They are very professional, helpful, and super nice. And given how impatient I am, I have to say they were always ready to take care of anything I requested and to do it promptly.
As for the valet service, I cannot say enough about how great they were! Carlos and the rest of the guys treated us like royalty! Parking in Venice Beach is usually awful, expensive, and not always safe. We did not have to think about any of that with the valet service at Hotel Erwin.
I was celebrating a big birthday on this trip so I had friends meet us at the rooftop bar High, one evening. That was a blast! We watched the sunset, had great drinks, and pizza, and just hung out. It was a pretty classy crowd. Even though it was December, the space heaters kept us comfortable. It is just a beautiful bar, and again, one of my top choices in Los Angeles.
I can't wait to come back and stay at Hotel Erwin again!

We checked into the Hotel Erwin with high expectations We were immediately informed that the parking fees would be $50 a day, on top of the room charges. They did lower this to $25 a day which still annoyed us but what choice did we have? We didn't know the area and where else we could park. During the week, we had the "joy" of waking up every morning to excessive noise at 7am due to the garbage pick ups in the alley. And then to run salt in our woulds, when we got the final bill, there was a "facility charge" of $25 a day, on top of the charges for the room. When we objected, we were told it was clearly disclosed on their website but we booked through a third party site and didn't catch that. They fell back on the excuse that every hotel in the area does this, like that justifies it. The people who work here were very nice but we ended up spending an extra $50 a day for things that should be included in the price of the room and that really annoyed usl When you threw in the additional charges plus all the various taxes charges (yes, I know the taxes are not under their control), the final bill was a shocker. I wish they had been upfront disclosing how much the room really costs. We signed up for $250 a night and the tally was almost $100 more!

We had a reservation at the Rooftop bar for a group to scout the location for a larger party the following weekend. My friend had her bike and needed a secure place to lock it up. The gray-haired doorman was not only less than helpful but bordered on rude in his refusal to assist in finding a location for her bike. We offered to pay to valet the bike and he literally said "I can't help you", turned around and walked away.
At the rooftop, the DJ was so loud the hostess couldn't hear us. She found us a table with a partial view (even though we had a specific reservation). The wait staff was friendly but leisurely in service. The food was good.
If you want a party scene for sunset, this is a great location. If you want friendly service, you will find it at the rooftop but not at the door downstairs.
