This new and very contemporary hotel is located near downtown Los Angeles and Echo Park. The neighborhood is empty at night because opposite you have school infrastructure (stadium and swimming pool) , to the right of the schools and to the left of the street of small apartment buildings, all overlooking the towers of downtown LA. the hotel is located 20 min from 7th Street station where all subway lines pass (to go to Hollywood, the airport, Santa Monica...). The lobby is on the 2nd floor. The hotel is secure. You need a card to access the building and the elevator. The staff is very friendly. The lobby is where you can have breakfast. There is a coffee machine (bean), chocolate and hot water for tea. You have the right to one pastry per person (big chocolate bread, big croissant, banana cake...). Tea and coffee is available 24 hours a day + fresh water. The room is very large with safe, flat screen, work desk, fridge, hot/cold air conditioning, wifi. If you need an iron ask at the reception. The bed is very good and large. The bathroom is large with a large shower and shower products (shampoo and shower gel). If I had to go back to LA I think I'd have to take over "The Metric Hotel LA."

Very easy to find & super clean. Room was of a good size & lovely walk in shower although not that powerful. View of the car park from our room. Car park was small but secure behind a gate & included in price. Staff were friendly & happy to help. Breakfast was coffee/Tea with a pastry or cake - some fruit would have been good. Would definitely stay again - area was safe to walk around. Handy for highways 101 & 110

One night stay. Rooms were immaculately clean and modernized with nothing quite left to be desired. Great rainfall shower, many options to charge, and fridge available. They have a locked parking lot which helped make us feel very secure. Couldn't hear any neighbors. The provided complimentary drink options and breakfast grab-and-gos seemed immaculate (I'm vegan, so I couldn't necessarily comment on the breakfast foods). Staff is very quickly responsive to emails. Was able to catch buses nearby as well. The bed was so comfortable, the sheets so soft, and pillows were perfectly firm/soft. Our only small issue was that the Wifi was a bit spotty in our room, perhaps because we were located at the end of our hallway.

Although the hotel is modern and well-kept, I describe below things that need a lot of improvement: We booked the room with a view and honestly, they were pretty miserable; We could see the roof of the building opposite. If you do not have rooms available upon our arrival, do not sell this type of upgrade with such a supplement. Breakfast is ONE piece of the ones they have in the lobby in the mornings (croissants, muffins, etc.). Under no circumstances can you sell and advertise this as breakfast; At most it is a snack. Finally, the cleaning staff is very attentive and friendly, but I don't think it's right that a hotel of this price has a policy of cleaning the room only once in a four-night stay, which meant that we needed towels and amenities every day.

Formerly known as the popular Jerry's Motel, this wonderful family-managed property is brand new, having been rebuilt and renamed as The Metric. The rooms are high tech, quiet and extremely clean, with modern fixtures and very high-speed internet, which was appreciated! Room size seems fine for short stays, maybe slightly more challenging for extended visits (as ours was) since storage space is limited. Still, with a little bit of space organization we were able to make do!
We had a very comfortable king bed and enjoyed wonderful free gourmet coffee and breakfast pastries each morning which were provided in the lobby for guests. The location is on a residential street next to downtown Los Angeles, and is a quick drive close to everywhere worth seeing, and actually within close walking distance of the Bellwether LA, a new music venue.
Finally, one of the best features for us was the free parking for hotel guests, which is a HUGE plus for people visiting LA. We were grateful to make our way home to the Metric each evening and not have to worry about whether or not we would find a parking space.
Huge thanks to management for making our stay even better. Wishing them many, many years of success and we definitely plan to be back.
Definitely recommend!

We love this place, enjoyed it so much we cancelled our other bookings to come back!
Very chill modern place, lovely clean rooms and quiet area. Reception staff are all super friendly and accommodating they also provide water, coffee and breakfast.
The rooms are simplistic with nice modern decorations and are not dusty (like a lot of hotel rooms!). All the amenities are good and has decent wifi.
Walking distance from downtown LA, good if you have a car as well as it’s easier to visit all of LA. The hotel has a great little gated car park that you can reserve with the room for a decent price.
Would definitively recommend.

If I could give The Metric more stars than 5, I would!
Upon first entering the Metric, I was warmly greeted by the clean aesthetic and fresh aroma that is maintained throughout the property. The elevator was so fast and quiet. Making it easy when I forgot something in my room!
The lobby hours were from 7am-10pm, where I was able to grab water, tea, and whole bean ground coffee at my leisure. Oh and I can’t forget to mention the fresh pastries offered in the morning, such a nice touch!
The room is so immaculate! I mean meticulously cleaned and well looked after! The individual thermostats allowed for an ease of escaping the heat. The linens on the bed were fresh and crisp. The towels were pristine and they also provided make-up towelettes. The door was a soft close, as well, so I wasn’t disturbed by hearing any slamming doors. There were ample power outlets and USB ports for all of my devices. The wall desk was great for plugging away on my laptop.
The location is so convenient, there are a multitude of attractions and food options in close driving proximity! Speaking of driving and having a car in LA, don’t sleep on booking the parking package direct when grabbing a room. Los Angeles is notorious for ticketing and towing…the secure gated parking offered on-site giant me piece of mind through the evening and my stay, that I wouldn’t pay any additional funds to the city of Los Angeles.
Literally, all aspects of my recent 5 night stay were 5 stars and a 10 out of 10! It was such a reasonably priced stay to boot! I actually went down at one point to ask if there was availability to extend my stay…Not so surprising, there was not. The room was already booked for another extended stay.
If you are looking for a modern, clean, and reasonably priced place in LA, look no further then The Metric! I already know, I’ll be booking it for my next trip!

Great and friendly staff! Everything was very clean, quiet and enjoyable. The morning pastries were a perk. Also having a filtered water dispenser on site was a huge bonus. I hate spending so much on bottled water when I stay at hotels. I would recommend for anyone to stay here
