Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at this hotel recently and really appreciated the stay. The stay actually started off bumpy with some misunderstanding of our reservation that had us cramped into a small room with no possibility of adding a roll-away. The young woman who checked us in said there was nothing she could do, so we took her for her word and proceeded to our room. When we got to our room, we realized that we would end up with a disastrous stay contrary to what we were expecting--a wonderful and serene one--as the room was way too small. When the bell person (Rajesh) brought our luggage, we informed him, that the room would not work for our family of four. Though it was not his responsibility per se, Rajesh immediately went to work to seek out any other options we could have to accompany us and, long story short, he helped us stay in a bigger room that was more appropriate--though considered a downgrade. The fact that a bell person would go out of his realm of responsibility to meet our needs was truly appreciated allowing us all to fully enjoy our stay. We ended up having dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and fully appreciated the friendliness and service of the restaurant staff as well as the healthy, delicious, and local foods that were served. There is no doubt we would return to stay there again thanks to Rajesh and his excellent customer service!

I took a trip with my family for 3 nights in Karuizawa and booked this Curio hotel via hilton honors. It was a very pleasant stay. Very nice hotel, not big but very cozy and classic. Spacious room with elegant decoration and very comfy sleeping beds. Great showers, however also available with public bath. Breakfast was perfect with quite some quality choices, the main egg dish changes on daily basis. The shuttle service between the hotel and the Karuizawa station was extremely helpful. Not many hotel staffs but obviously they’re all have multiple roles/responsibility, very helpful! Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends or stay again in future when I visit Karuizawa.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The service is impeccable, and the staff are very polite and friendly. The hotel offers free shuttles to the train station and ski resort. The location is also a few minutes walk from the old Karuizawa downtown. We also used the public hot bath facilities, which is very relaxing after a day out. We'll definitely come back again if we visit Karuizawa. Highly recommended!

My families stay here during the beginning of November when beautiful time of autumn leaves. We were able to check in a little bit early. The public bath were clean and nice, there are Dyson hair dryer in the public bath. The hotel was lovely and there are free welcome snack and drink on the fridge which refill everyday you stay.
The location quit far from the station but close to another place like Kumoba Pond, Karuizawa Ginza Dori area and many restaurants near by. The day I check out I try to use the free shuttle to the station, but they say only start at 9:00am or something I can't remember but We have to take taxi instead. We leave around 8:00 in the morning.

I booked a superior room as a Hilton diamond member. I was upgraded to a premium room the day before check in. Usually this doesn’t sound like much however the premium room is quite spacious! The room essentially has a living room and bedroom. What’s really surprising is that the entire minibar is complimentary and could be replenished, something I’ve only encountered at a couple of 5 star hotels elsewhere. This included some hard drinks as well as some delicious prepared snacks. In a way, this is necessary as there are no convenience stores in the neighborhood and you’ll have to go to Karuizawa station past a certain hour in the evening.
The hotel itself is only 3 floors high and has a very boutique feel. The service level was great and all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Diamond members are entitled to a cocktail hour at the hotel restaurant that includes some snacks and drinks. This is nothing more than a snack so if you’re hungry for a meal I’d suggest the actual restaurant or going outside the hotel. I really enjoyed breakfast service at the hotel restaurant.
The public bath is one of the best I’ve experienced thus far in Japan! Hot bath, cold bath, scented sauna, never crowded, and more amenities than any other public bath I’ve been to!
The hotel is located in Old Karuizawa which features some shops around the main street as well as a “Ginza” area however once beyond the main road it’s a very quiet area. As I mentioned previously, there are no convenience stores or any other stores that would be open late in the evening in the area. If you need such you’ll have to go to the station. There’s also a mall and resort south of the station. The hotel features a “shuttle” service to Karuizawa Station however it’s really more of a private car they keep in the parking lot. It runs on demand meaning that you’ll need to let the staff know when you need to use it.
Some nights can get a bit expensive however if you’re planning on staying in Karuizawa I’d recommend this hotel!

I stayed at this hotel in early January and the overall stay was almost perfect. I had absolutely no problems with the hotel, and in actual fact, the hotel made me feel special and treated like a VIP the entire time.
The only problem I had was with the area of the hotel. It turns out early January is considered low season, so many of the shops and restaurants were closed, leaving me with limited food options.
The hotel also had a free shuttle service between the hotel and Karuizawa station and I used that multiple times during my stay.

The Hotel location is approximately 1 km from Karuizawa Train Station which you can drop off Shinkansen Bullet Train from Tokyo. You can reach the hotel around 15-20 minutes walk from the station but hotel provided a free shuttle service with Mercedes Benz cars but you need to call or email them in advance . If you didn't booked but met the hotel staff at the train station, you can ask them. They are willing to served you but wait around 10 mins for pick up.
Hotel staffs s very friendly and good services mind. Appreciated!
Hotel location is surrounding the restaurants and bus stop to the waterfalls in nearby the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay here again in future when I visit Karuizawa.

This is a nice hotel in Karuizawa, very central. The room was big, clean and comfortable.
Reception at the hotel was nice but I thought the check-in process was slow. We sat there waiting to get checked-in.
Children were free of charge, which is nice. I had informed the hotel in advance that our child has food allergies. When it came time for dinner they were unprepared for her food allergies so dinner was not smooth. We tried to order from room service but there again we experienced the hotel's inability to accommodate food allergies. Then Breakfast was the same when it came to the main menu. Only nice thing was for breakfast the child could choose stuff from the buffet. I have stayed at many Hiltons, but this one was not up to standard in terms of food service. Had I known that they would be unable to accommodate food allergies I would have eaten outside.

What a charming little hotel along the old Karuizawa road! The location of the hotel is good as it’s about 10-15 mins walk from the main station. The shuttle service, guest service and attention to detail was amazing, loved the breakfast and how homey and elegant everything was!

Overall are good except for the breakfast in buffet style and some decorations look aged like toilet and lift.
Since I’m a gold member of Hilton Honour, my friends and I are invited to visit their lounge for free drinking.
The large public bath is nice however it is not a natural hotspring.

Sure, they provide buffet style brekkie and variety of food.
I just stayed in a premium last week (we were 2). There seems to be a sleeper sofa in the living room.
Not really as it is not close to the ski slopes. You should check out one of the Prince Hotels if skiing is the priority
Sorry only stayed in summer.
