The Joshua Tree Inn, built in 1950, is a Hacienda Style inn conveniently located just six miles from the grandeur of Joshua Tree National Park.
The Inn has long been known for the warmth, charm, and comfortable lodging it provides for guests visiting California's extraordinary Mojave Desert.
The Inn is laid out in a square horseshoe that provides privacy for all of our guests. All of our eleven rooms are on ground level, facing our desert courtyard and large pool. Our decor is eccentrically eclectic.
The Inn is the site of the legendary Gram Parsons Room, where the beloved and respected musician/songwriter spent his last hours. Room 8 still offers a quintessential "Cosmic American Experience" to fans of the father of Alt-country rock. On the peach colored wall hangs the same mirror and picture that hung in the room back in 1973.
The Joshua Tree Inn features a large swimming pool, as well as our peaceful zen courtyard & koi pond, plus dining room access & gift shop. We also provide complimentary coffee, tea, & morning snacks for our guests. All of our charming rooms include:
I was there for the first time, expecting it to be more than it was. They are living on the fact that a musician died in one of their rooms, many years ago. Lots of memorabilia that boasts his continued presense. Actually kind of creepy. The innkeeper went over the rules and led us to our room, stating that the pool is closed at 8pm, the ice machine seemed to have had an incident 6 years ago, so no ice, no drinking water in the room, and a loud air conditioner that had a mind of its own. All in all, it wasn't worth the price. I was hoping for more.
The Joshua Tree Inn is a quaint and quirky motel, bohemian feel like noted. We enjoyed our one night stay in the Emmylou Harris room. The room met all expectations and was well equipped. Our adult son joined us at the last minute, so the motel quickly added a roll away to our room. (Larger rooms were already booked) There is a nice pool on site for cooling down after a hot day in the desert. At night 2-3 groups enjoyed a bonfire in the garden area. In the morning we picked up breakfast and we’re able to eat in the motel common area. The motel is located close to Joshua Tree NP entrance for convenience in getting to/from the park. The Joshua Tree Saloon is close for a good dinner. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the motel.
We stayed in the Barrymore Suite and it was so nice and private,Only complaint was couch needed more padding but otherwise loved this place and Justin was a dear,Would recommend for the nostalgia alone.Staff does everything to accomadate you. I pulled a hamstring and was in pain and ask and was directed to obtain CBD . Great staff,
I spent $250 to spend one night in the John Barrymore suite at the Joshua tree inn and totally wasted my money. If you want to stay in a room that was built in 1950 and half of the things in the room don't work, then this is the place for you. The shower temperature alternates from cold to hot constantly when you are trying to take a shower. The bathroom sink barely puts out any water. Bathroom fan runs constantly, no way t turn it off. Bed mattress is hard as a rock. When I told management about these problems the next day, they refused to even talk about giving me a partial refund or discount. I will never stay here again. BEWARE!!! F minus, minus.
My husband and I were given a tour of the property by Justin, a personable young man, who showed interest and care. In addition, I could tell that the Inn was doing everything it could to enforce the Covid protocol and keep everyone safe. The Donovan Suite is spacious and clean and quite comfortable. We especially enjoyed the patio area. there was a well-equipped kitchen and oh-so-comfortable bed. The decor has been described as bohemian and hippy-dippy...right down my alley!....I would describe it as vintage....just fine by me. If the traveler is looking for gray and white, institutional accommodations....look elsewhere. I prefer a place with a story. The suite was set back from the road and provided quiet and serenity. The highway traffic blended into kind of a white noise. We found the park nearby interesting and the people in the community friendly and helpful. We would love to come again for a longer stay!…
