The price was right. If you need a place to sleep for a night or two and don’t want to spend more, this place is fine. We were given two rooms with a kitchenette. The refrigerator works. However, you cannot cook in the kitchenette as the stove is turned off and there is no cookware— no dishes either, no paper towels.

You need to drive a few blocks to restaurants.

Breakfast is minimal with very flimsy paper plates and cheap plastic flatware.

Beds were comfortable. Room adequately clean but some lights did not work.

This is a very lovely place, clean decorated with beautiful art and gardens. It is right off the freeway, but you would never know it once you are inside. The rooms are spacious and all face the garden courtyard and pool area. But the real blessing is the gracious, tender way that Jamie greets you and takes care of the inn. Breakfast is way more than "continental" it is a full breakfast with sausage and waffles and fresh fruit. I would make this a regular stop if Fresno were a regular destination.

The room was clean, in good shape, as if recently remodeled. It was quiet and peaceful and had every accommodation needed for a single night stay.

The bathroom was equipped with all the necessary items and the staff was extremely friendly and quick.

The AC didn't work in 3 different rooms, never went below 75 degrees despite us asking for assistance repeatedly. Due to this our stay was not comfortable and it was unexpectedly stressful. We were celebrating our first anniversary and ended up having to move everything late at night on our anniversary.
The second room had ashes on the floor and a very strong marijuana smell. When I asked the manager to take a look for himself, he declined to do so.
The third room also did not cool down but we were tired and didn't want to have to keep moving everything. Plus, the front desk staff had a long line of people and said that there were so many people reporting issues he was running out of rooms to move them to.
Additionally the pool and hot tub had bugs floating in it so we ended up fishing some of them out with the net by the pool. Then we had to ask the front desk staff to turn the hot tub on. Apparently the tub had been turned off so that people had to ask for it to be turned on, but it took 40+ minutes to actually get hot. But, for some reason, it never got as hot as a hot tub at other hotels, even after an hour.
On a minor note, the hose on the showerhead was broken on the first room. That was the least of our concerns.
For positives, the maintenance worker was nice. The manager was nice enough but only offered a ten percent refund that I have not yet received. I asked a booking.com rep to negotiate a twenty percent refund on our behalf. The booking.com rep tried calling the hotel but said they couldn't get through to the hotel, reportedly because there were so many complaints from others staying at the hotel. The rep emailed instead.. as of now, we are still waiting on a response from both parties. I received an email from booking.com after reporting what happened asking me to upload photos--but by then we had left. In retrospect, I wish I had taken more photos or had stayed somewhere entirely different.

Dear MK,   We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. It's disheartening to hear about the issues with the AC and room cleanliness. We deeply regret the impact this had on your special anniversary celebration. Our team is addressing these concerns to ensure they do not recur. We appreciate your patience regarding the refund and are actively working with booking.com to resolve this matter promptly. We value your feedback, and we are committed to making improvements to provide a better experience for our guests. We hope you consider giving us another chance in the future to provide the exceptional stay you deserve.   Thank You, Garden Inn & Suites Management

Traffic noise is annoying in room Room had stains and damage. See attached pictures. WiFi did not work. Tv had bare minimum of channels. Neighborhood is sketchy. Would not want to spend any time here

Reception was very nice and breakfast was good.

An ok place to stay if you pay $100 or less

WE came here overnight from Yosemite to Sequoia NP's. The laundry was a huge plus. Only $2 a load. The owners are very welcoming and the rooms are very clean. Great bed and pool. Highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed here in the past and decided to stay again on our way to Yosemite. Love this place. It is older but well kept. Owners are originally from Taiwan. Very friendly and caring. You will not find a better breakfast. Price and convenience to 99 are perfect. Will stay here again.

We are seasoned travelers in our 50s. We have been around the world. I must say Tripadvisor let us down this time. This hotel was one of the worst we have experienced. From unfriendly owners who were sleeping in the middle of the day when we checked in... to a thermostat that was physical altered so you could not adjust the temperature in your room ( I am a contractor and know what I am stating here ), to a noisy roadside location---- We were SO HAPPY to check out after one night, but we did so with sore throats--- let me explain. There was cool air coming into the room 24/7 at a low flow. It was 100 degrees plus outside. But the owners controlled the A/C 100%. When we complained about the thermostat being inoperable, the owner stated it was fine and invited me to step outside to feel the temperature difference. So, we endured a night of road noise and force-fed A/C. The owners were not the least bit friendly and never smiled once. We are nice people and feel it is our obligation to warn others of this place. I have no idea how anyone could say anything positive.... maybe relatives of the owners have written the other reviews.... all I can say is.... look for ANY other place than this one!

Definitely a unique spot in Fresno. Super clean, the jacuzzi is refreshing, which is why we took the King bed room that is about $50 more than the regular rooms. The place is clearly converted apartments, which makes them spacious, much more so than a chain hotel. The older man who was at reception we believe was the owner. The grounds are very well kept, and our room for very clean.

With all of this said--the hotel I think would be the perfect romantic get-away for a couple looking for this. The jacuzzi is Fantastic, and on off season--the spaciousness of the hotel allows for quite and privacy. Most romantic couples don't care about the following quirks of the place I will describe.

The owners are SUPER NICE and accommodating, and it is clear they work their tails off to maintain the place. It's beautiful and feels more down-to-home than a big hotel. The breakfast was Fab as well.

Okay, so get ready for the kinks. The TV was not great. Not HD. The channels are few. And you cannot control the air conditioning (without some stealthiness). Also, the bathroom light turns off if you haven't moved for more than 5 seconds. My boyfriend joked that they should advertise the hotel as GREEN because they are trying to cut costs from the strange money-saving practices.
