We were a family of four and spent 2 nights in this boutique hotel, with the primary goal of seeing the whale sharks, the neighbouring island and the falls. The place is clean and tastefully decorated. There is also a feeling of intimacy as there are not so many rooms. The room in itself is not luxurious but are perfectly functional (notably with a well functionning aircon, a high speed wifi and clean bedding). The food at the restaurant was delicious and the menu on offer was well diversified and affordable. The tables are all facing the sea, with 2 of them literally on a jettee, the perfect place to chill with a cocktail and enjoy seafood. The staff were friendly, flexible and professional. A particular mention to the hotel driver who also acted as our de facto guide, and who provided us with so much useful advice/insights and was happy to answer our numerous questions on the local environment and the cultural context, pretty fascinating for us reallly. Overall highly recommended.

What a peaceful resort to start our holiday at. Right from when we arrived, we were greeted by the most pleasant helpful staff, they were always keen to help with any questions/requests we had and always did it with smile. The room was a generous size, nice and clean, the bed was comfortable and for a tall person it was a good size. We stayed for 3x nights and ate most of our meals here, after eating our first meal in the relaxing restaurant area with pleasant background music and delicious food we didn't need to go anywhere else. All the food and drinks were quality. We highly recommend their americano coffee, and their Mango shake was the best we had found anywhere in the Philippines. The staff were very helpful organising our tour to the whale shark diving and day trip to Sumilon Island, they advised us to go early in the morning and join the first groups on the water before it got to busy, thankfully we listened to them. We enjoyed swimming in the water right in front of the property, it was clean and warm, there was an outside shower to wash down before going back to our room which was a pleasant surprise. Our entire stay was pleasant, highly recommend anyone visiting Cebu area head to Down South 118 in Oslob.

I knew this was going to be good as the taxi driver arranged via the resort asked if I needed cold water as Cebu was hot at 09h00. He was kind enough to stop for fresh fruit. My check-in by a super friendly and still in-training young Lady was smooth & effortless. My room was perfect however I do miss a fridge in my room when traveling.

The bar had a limited selection of alcoholic beverages but the local RED HORSE beer was welcome & cold. I opted for the salt & pepper squid which was perfectly presented .
The cappucino I had the following morning was the BEST I have had in the Philippines.

On two occasions the chef presented me with steamed & grilled fish which on both occasions were very well done . The chef got the eggs perfectly fried.
At all times service was quick and the room was cleaned every morning.
When transport was required is was arranged effortlessly.

Travelers came & went all the time and most were super friendly & even joined me at my table regularly.

The ladies seemed to remember my preferences & most times I never had to ask more than once.

The venue is peaceful , spotlessly clean and well maintained which they seem to do with minimal staff. I've stayed in OSLOB previously but this will be my next first choice again.

When we arrived at this place we were excited as the hotel looked promising.

However the service we expected which would commensurate with the hotel didn't happen.

The service personnel seemed as if they were interested to go off work ASAP.

Dinner was supposed to be served from 7pm to 9pm but they insisted if we wanted to have dinner there, we must order by 7pm. It was 6pm then.

To our surprise, dinner, which was fixed for 730pm, was already served at 715pm, in the open, when none of us was at the table.

To sum it up, dinner was not fresh.

The staff also wanted us to order for the next morning's breakfast, to be served at 6am, which we did.

On hindsight, we suspected we would be having stale food as the planned 6am was probably too early for them to serve.

And true enough! We had food that was not freshly made.

The butter was yellow and bread was toasted but soft.

Anyway, if I'm going to Oslob again, or if any of my friends are going to Oslob, this is the last place I would recommend.

It was okay, but:
1. It's along the highway, lots of noise!
The air con is noisy too.
2. Staff ( exept for the receptionist) is unfriendly. Bar closes at 8pm. They try to sell daytrips for far too expensive.
Rooms are very basic. We didn't even get upper bedsheets, so we had to sleep under a blanket without sheet. I wonder if they wash the blanket at all
3. Rooms on groundfloor have zero privacy. People from the street look right into the bathroom. The front door and the window is right by the common space which is crowdy.

Images from the location were pretty and nice, but the experience leaves much to be desired. More importantly, the Filipino hospitality that we always experience from different places is barely felt here.

This place is a super quaint boutique hotel. The staff is amazing. Best hospitality I’ve ever had in a hotel. The location is great to swim with whale sharks, hike the waterfalls, go for a stroll around the mall and if you want some real Filipino food AC Palayok is a must
The food at this hotel is also good and a nice variety.

Booked a one night stay to be local for whale shark trip. Very chill place, right on the water. Enjoyed a tasty pasta supper with cold beers, dining on their little pier over the ocean.

Knocked door at 4.30am,out at 4.45, driver took us 15 mins drive to whale sharks. . Watched the sunrise and set out in the third boat of the morning (“first batch”). Amazing and full 30mins snorkel experience. Back at the hotel by 7am tucking into a breakfast of fluffy pancakes & mango. Their driver then took us to Sumilon Island boat jetty at 9am. Thank you 118 for the perfect arrangements.

I would recommend a short stay here ... just note that the bathrooms need updating (very old, and cold shower with low pressure) and road & aircon a little noisy. The rooms are simple, clean and equipped. The best thing is its lovely setting, pretty decor , chill vibe, super friendly staff, fantastic trip arrangements and a great price.

From a very late check in to our departure the friendly staff made us feel very welcome. The rooms are clean with a beach feel. The bathrooms are updated with a spacious shower. The air-conditioning was quiet and our beds were comfortable, taking advantage of a 50mm mattress topper :-) My luggage was lost in Manilla and the manager helped me track it down. Our flights were changed by the airline to a very early flight from Cebu. The manager again helped me to change the flights to a later time, allowing us to see the whalesharks one more time. The staff helped us organise trips to the waterfalls, monkeys, whalesharks, mall and snorkelling on Sumilon Island. The staff were all very friendly and made us great meals. If you are visiting Oslob, i highly recommend staying at Down South 118. Thank you.

This place is a real gem if you are staying in Oslob. It doesn't look like much from the road but the ocean view from the rooms and restaurant is stunning. Beds were very comfortable and the room is a good size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate an excellent dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. It's only a 15 minute drive by tricycle from the whale shark swimming experience (we left at 5.30am to beat the crowds).

Fantastic hotel - definitely the best one in Oslob with great view (strongly recommend to wake up at 5am to watch sun rise) and awesome quality food (full variety incl. Philippino and western dishes).
Very helpful, accommodating and friendly stuff, very clean and spacious rooms with nice nautical design.
Hotel helps to arrange attractions in the proximity, such as trip to Sumilon or swimming with whale sharks.
Definitely will get back here, if traveling to South of Cebu next time!

No, everything was in cash. You can’t even pay for your stay online via Agoda (only bookings) cause they only accept cash transactions.
