We stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. It was exactly what we expected according their description. The staff is amazing, they organized for us many tours ( Tumalog Falls, whale shark, Kawasan falls ), and they have us many advises about what to visit nearby. I recommend this place to every backpackers. This only negative points was there noise by cocks early in the morning, but as a traveler you’ll certainly wake up early in the morning to enjoy Cebu.
Stayed here one night to see whale sharks following morning. Whilst I visited the whale sharks against my best judgement and would not recommend it, I would certainly recommend using Luzmin to sort out the trip if you do choose to go. We stayed in a cottage with a fan which was basic but perfect for what we wanted. Picked up at 5.30am and driven to the centre. here our driver/guide went and sorted out our registration and tickets while we sat for the briefing. Then we were led over to get life jackets and snorkels and told our boat number. As soon as this was called our guide ushered us to our boat and away we went. Very slick and helpful considering the chaos going on around us. It was busy when we arrived but hellish when we left around 7am.
We stayed 2 nights at this place they offer nipa huts and regular rooms me and my partner.we pay 1200 pesos for two nights for a small nipa hut its really small just a double bed and a fan that fits inside its really simple but cute. The only thing that i dont like is u have to share bathroom with other guest outside but not really big deal the worst is that ur right next to a hardware store one time my partner has to complain for we want to take a nap and all we hear is a loud noise of metal that they trying to load to their truck for 2 hours lol. The owner is really nice though she takes care of everything for us.
We stayed February 2016. We arrived at the hotel night time, in a quiet location but along the highway where the bus ceres passes by. Room we got is for a group of 10 people which has bunkbeds like dorm types and a kitchen outside tghe room.. ac is strong. The owner is not friendly.
We booked the Big cottage for 2,nights. It has 1 single bed and 1 queen size bed made of bamboo ang it creeks everytime we moved out of bed or change positions. The batroom and showerroom are located outside. Lyka is very accomodating and the rest of the staff. 2 things I didnt like in the place is that there were 2 males who were repairing their motorcyle in front of our cottage from morning till 3pm! It was disturbing. Second, I dont know if they were guests or bystanders inside the vicinity but there wer group of teenagers who were very noisy in the night time. The place is very far from the whale watching and sumilon but Lyka was good enough to offer a package for our activities in the reasonable price.
The room is okay, not spacious and they just have common toilet for the budget rooms..that's okay,we just get what we have paid for. The room was newly paint when we stayed so it was still smelly. They have new rooms and the it was nice to have breakfast on their yard near the ocean. The owner has store in front so you can have anything you need, her daughter is accommodating as well.
they gave me a hut for a person, bed was big, yeah, occupied 5/6 of the room. the bed was well maintained but sheets was not washed from my point of view because when i rubbed my hands on the blanket/foot/bottom half of the bed, sands and rubberish-like deadskin accumulated on my fingers. charging point by the bedside, fan was on top of me, its cooling, since the whole hit was made out of bamboo. could destroy it if you wanted to. they gave me a hut without a key because the last backpacker broke the key into two, so it was troublesome for me to keep going back and forth to the reception, requesting to open my hut's door. felt bad too. toilet is okay, shower is alright too, just like any other hostels in philippines. that aside, the staff were very friendly and fun to talk to, plus point. theres a little convenience store infront of my accommodation area. its the cheapest out there in oslob during that time, 610p. theres public bus to the whale sharking area for 10p, just a straight road ahead. wifi was weak but i guess its usable at my hut. BRING EARMUFFS OR SMTH if youre a light sleeper. theres alot of cocks in that village area, and they will start their morning ritual at 3am+-, afew just outside my hut, almost lost my mind.…
When you read private beach, don't get too excited! It's not the common beach to lay in the sand and enjoy the day. It's more like a wall from where you can see the ocean. The toilet is kinda far from the room and you need to cross the road to get toilet paper at their shop (for free, but still..) the bangalos are really cute, but very hot inside. Sometimes there's a lack of water in the shower. the pool table and the hammock are great and the staff is nice. its a bit far from everything.
My self and partner stayed here in January after the Sinulog festival for the whale shark watching and where extremely impressed with the accommodation as well friendliness of staff. Lyka came too greet us personally, gave great advice and organized our trip to the whale sharks as well transport into the main village. Rooms where clean, modern with hot and cold water for the shower. Would 110% stay here again.
Cheap cottage is P500, small, nice, clean. But the compound has a lot of trucks parked in front of you and workers from the hardware store is everywhere the ground so you'll feel a bit off and not that quite. 30minutes away from whale watching. Common toilet and bath with some amenities like pool table, basketball etc. Along the road, easy to take bus to kawasan and moalboal. They offer tour for whale watching 1200 for foreigners. 700 for Filipinos.
