This Hotel looked pretty nice from the outside, but it is a very long drive from the airport, so if you are planning on staying here, it is about 4-6 hours plus rest stops. The pool was very nice and we had a nice view, but there were dead bugs that spotted the floor. The breakfast here was pretty cheap, but the portions sucked, so I had to buy 1-2 meals just to be full. Not only that, there is a hidden 12 percent service fee which they do not tell you about, so not great. Overall, the experience was not awesome, I would not come here again, definitely do not recommend coming here unless it is for a short time.

We found the resort on facebook. We took a risk if there are any available room as there are not much being shown in other sites. The staff are nice and friendly, and the room is very clean. It's very calm and quiet on the area. And they assist us by taking us to the Whale Shark Watching area.

The problem is the water stopped working in the morning, the wi-fi is only in the restaurant, and no cold coffee.

Our overall experience is great!

We stayed in Brumini for 2 nights. We're a family with 1 small child. We went Whale Watching and we needed a place closer to that area and to the port to Sumilon island. This resort was the only decent option that we had in the area. Everything else around was not good to stay.

The location is very good. They have a small private beach, a beautiful swimming pool, tasty food, comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels.

It is an older resort that used to be fantastic when it was new. Now the furniture is old. The air conditioning is old. It reminded me of accommodations in our country 20 years ago. The price was the highest that we paid here.

It was great for us for 2 nights as a transit place.

What a pity! The hotel is nice, wifi, pool (not the best but still...), in front of the beach (not the best but still...), not too far from the whale shark (10min walk or free hotel shuttle), fair price, just next to the beach restaurants, bellman and roommaid attentive and kind BUT the young staff of the front desk is not very interested in their job, seem not to care about your holiday appreciation at all. Complimentary breakfast:
-can I have a fresh juice?
-NO (with annoyed face)
-can I have a yogurt?
-NO (with annoyed face)
-can I have cereals?
-NO(with annoyed face)
-can I have fruit?
-NO runout (with annoyed face)
-can I have oatmeal?
-NO(with annoyed face)
-can I have pancakes?
-NO(with annoyed face)
-can I have a crepe?
-NO(with annoyed face)
-can I have a normal coffee?
-YES BUT IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST AND YOU NEED TO PAY FOR IT
-ok I will pay

And the coffee never arrived at our table (and we were the only customers!)

it was my second time to visit Oslob and this time i brought my good friend Ross Baker and my BF with me.. Since its Ross first time in Oslob i brought him to the place where i stayed during my first time since i don't know any hotels yet in that specific place. We went to see Brumini as its just a neighbor of our hotel and we find it very nice but we already booked in to anther hotel. But i see the place as clean and Ate Alice was very accommodating despite that we didn't checked in the hotel. the next day we found ourselves staying in Brumini despite that we checked in from the other hotel. the food was great and the package was a good deal. Ate Alice was very transparent, despite that im with a foreigner she didn't over charged us ... Before we left, i asked for her calling card just in case i visit again the next time ..

2 weeks after my visit, my Boss called me as he had seen our pictures in Brumini and asked maybe i can bring my team to OSLOB. Being a Vendor manager i can always recommend a place. So i immediately recommended Brumini and called ate Alice. in just a few conversation everything was set, no hassle.

18 members in my team enjoyed a lot , so much fun and great food in Brumini.. They were surprised that i know a great place in oslob when i am originally from Manila. i am grateful and thankful to Ate Alice who gave a good impression during our first time and treated us so nice and she was very hospitable.. i have no bad thing to say about Brumini but all praises.. Good Job and keep it up.. unfortunately i dont have photos as its all on my fb.

If you are looking for a place to stay for whale shark watching then i would recomment this place. Reason is that it is near the Whale Shark watching area and its hassle free. Stayed in this place twice this year, the first was last May (Summer) and this month was the latest. If you are coming from Cebu with your own transpo then it is still advisable to go out the City at Dawn. As early as 4 in the morning . That way you can drive at your own leisure without traffic. You can drop by te famous roasted pig (Lechon ) in Carcar and be able to arrive at your destinatio around 7 in Morning.

Second option which is what we did is you can still go out early do the lechon. Go to moalboal (beach), badian (kawasan falls). Road trip to the south to Pebble Beach in Santander and arrive at the resort in the afternoon to rest overnight akd do the whaleshark watching early the next day.

The roon for 2 is around 2300. With breakfast and airconditioned. You can ask for other rates. The room was facing the pool and restaurant. They have tv as well in the room. The pool is open from 7am-7pm. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. There are also small restaurants where you can pick your food and have them cook it (grilled, fried, anyway yiu want it) you hust have to walk to the beach front for a couple of minutes.

The place is merely for relaxing and the hotel offers services for the whale shark watching for the same rate. 500 if you want to swim woth the sharks and 300 if you just want to stay in the boat(this is local price btw) foreigner price is different. But the good thing about this is that you dont have to fall in line . They will take care of everything for you. Plus they have their own transportation to and from the hotel the the whaleshark watching place. You can still go early in the morning as early as 6am and head back to the resort for breakfast after.

By the way there is not much signal in the place and wifi is not strong if you are in the room.

From Cebu City it took us about 4 hours via Ceres bus at the Soutbound terminal by Elizabeth Mall. Just tell the conductor when you get on that you'd like to be dropped off at the resort.

We arrived at the resort and at first glance it looked well maintained. We did notice there were a few employees laying down on some sort of bench, napping. Anyway We checked in and were given room D.

The Room:  The room was average, had a tv and ac. No mini fridge, no hair dryer, and no telephone to call front desk.  Checked the restroom and that's where it went downhill from there. Molds, molds and did I mention molds? It was everywhere, from the plastic shower curtain to the walls to the faucets. I mean it looked like noone has cleaned the restroom in a month. The faucets were all dingy and had accumulations from the hard water. I assume the hair found in the shower were previous guests, because there were alot of it. At first, I wondered why they left a small tub behind and "kabo" but didn't really give it a second thought as it is the norm in the philippines to see this in local residents' homes. We left our belongings and headed out to the pool.

Grounds: Do not plan on going bare foot around the "resort" as there are many cats around that defecate everywhere and also the walking areas are predominantly made of large pebbles, some of which are sharp. So keep your feet safe. Pool is an above the ground pool, and was kept clean. I believe it was up to 7 ft. deep but had a kids area on the otherside. Next to the pool is the dining area, which had plenty of tables and chairs and they add more as the crowd increases.

Service: ..well the lack thereof. When we finally got back to our room to shower there was no hot water. So here we are 9 pm at night trying to wind down for an early start in the morning and no hot water and no phone to call the front desk. I had to trek to the front desk to let them know. Five minutes later someone went to the rear of the building and all of a sudden a noticeable noise became apparent when I went to check for water temperature. I believe they wait until someone complains about the hot water then they go back there and turn on a generator of some sort. Anyway the next day no water and no hot water. So again the trek to the front desk. Someone came and checked and verified there is in fact no water and no hot water. So the lady says, "use the water in the tub because there isn't any water". To which we replied, " you want me to use this stagnant water where drops of water that went through the molds in your restroom on my body?" She had a blank stare as if I was going to willingly agree to this. I think not. Moments later someone again went to the rear of the building to "fix" something, I checked for water. Water came trickling down then increased in pressure and temp. I jumped into the shower for fear it wouldn't last long. Midway water stopped and I was full of soap. This happened throughout my shower, water trickles then turns off trickles again and so forth. No apology from the staff. None whatsover. They walk around as if they don't care since they aren't the owner. My Mother slipped and slightly hit her head because noone advised that they throw "clorox" on a walkway towards the ocean to prevent natural build up. I ran to the front desk to let them know of the incident and they just stood there. I asked where their onsite clinic or infirmary was and they said they had none but that I could take my mother to a hospital 9 kilometers away thats almost 6 miles away. I asked, don't you have a nurse or someone here? Her reply, no, but maybe, she said, MAYBE we can take you to the hospital. She then gets on the walkie to tell the shuttle to get ready. My mother indicated she was ok, but really? What kind of place are you running?? Just shaking my head. Unbelievable!! We also opted for massages in the evening and for about $11 each for an hour you get a so called massage therapist rubbing your back every 5 mins while they listen and watch the waves come in with you. Like ok.. No. Don't get a massage here!! Your really just paying for the ambiance, if anything.

Overall: For the money spent NOT at all worth it. We spent close to about $100 for the room. The rate included pre-made breakfast. You get to their onsite restaurant, are seated then your plate of warm food is waiting for you, saran wrapped. I will not come back to this location as there are plenty of other resorts in the area. Based on our experience, this has been one of the worst experiences of service we have endured of all the places we've stayed at! I don't mind the price as long as I get quality service with clean accomodations, but Brumini is FAR from quality service.

BTW: They have shuttle service that takes you to the whale shark watching/ swimming area. You must reserve and pre-pay to partake in the activity, be early as the activity hours are from 6 am to 12 noon only.

Pro's: Beach front, shuttle service, other restaurants available across from the resort. Free wifi.

Con's: Looks can be deceiving. Dirty room (had bed bugs and was bitten at night) and restroom ( horrid, ew!). Worst service ever.

Tip: There is a sign in the room indicating if you use a hair straightner and maybe a hair dryer they will charge extra. We did'nt have any with us but thought it was strange they make you pay extra and per the sign ".. if you get caught.." very strange indeed!

I called 3 times to verify an airport transfer which they assured us was confirmed and will be at the airport. We arrived, no driver. We called, they said driver is there, and they will send me number of driver. I had to wait and call again twice before I got the number of the driver. At this point we were already waiting for 30 minutes outside the airport in the heat. Apparently, original driver assigned couldn't come and transferred the pick up to another driver. 45 minutes into waiting, driver comes who doesn't speak (tagalog nor english) and says to wait 15 minutes he will get the car. (Wtf?? So an hour wait??) Nevertheless, we give this resort another chance and we wait for the driver. More than 15 minutes passes and driver comes back with no car and instead asks us to walk!!! An hour and a half of waiting for nothing! Meanwhile we are asking the resort to resolve this problem, my partner was able to speak to them twice and then they start rejecting our calls! Here we are, tourists with an incompetent driver stuck at the airport for an hour and a half and they are rejecting our calls. My partner tries the landline where a staff answered but had the gall to be the one irritated with us. This is the worst way you could possibly treat guests. I hope the owners of this rundown resort corrects staff behavior.

We stayed in Brumini for the main reason of experiencing one of the most exotic adventures...to swim with the whalesharks.

It is the only resort that sparks in Oslob. It has a pool that you can take a dip after the whaleshark experience. There is also a shuttle that brings you to and fro the area where you can swim with the whalesharks. But, the room is just made for sleeping and nothing more.

We had to transfer from one of the rooms that we booked due to ants. The room that I used has cockroach. Water runs dry at early noon. So if you're taking a shower, be fast and skip shampooing otherwise, you'll get stuck in the shower long enough till the water comes back.
For breakfast, you can have a set meal within the compound.

There is no hotel who offer a day use. Its just the price per room per night . For 4 people. You can have 4 beds for 3900. Thats the price we paid when we were there last feb 2018. That includes breakfast for the next day. And if you like to have lunch or dinner. The food stalls near the place provide delicious home cooked meals that can surely make you full. I like home cooked meals and they just have that there.

Their website has a listing of contact numbers, both landline and mobile. In our case, we contacted them thru landline and placed our room reservation. Yes, as far as I can remember, they don't accept credit cards, only cash. You'll pay at the resort but reservation is done through a phone. Depending on the duration of your stay, withdraw cash from ATM in the city for the accommodation and food. Maybe P5,000 for 3 days for two persons for food and miscellaneous.
