It’s a nice place to stay for a few nights. It’s very unique with it’s Japanese garden type aesthetic with a bar area. There’s even a pan in the middle where you can experience a hot bath like you are being cooked. The staff here are really helpful and really dedicated to making your experience lovely. Plus they have a cute, hardworking staff member there so that’s always a plus! 👍 The area is also close the whale shark tourist attraction and Tumalong falls by car (about 10-15 minutes). If you don’t have a car, the staff will help you plan a tour which includes getting transportation for those tourist areas. The room was decent. Booked a double bedroom on the 2nd floor and it was really nice looking. Also they do have fair room service food pricing and they cook it fresh. Really loved the quiet atmosphere of this lounge, especially at night were it had a gorgeous view. Pros - Fair pricing for the type of room and experience you get - Close to the whale shark and waterfall attractions - Staff can help you book tours if you didn’t plan ahead - Quiet and relaxing outside with a Japanese garden aesthetic - Rooms have AC and hot water - Staff are very helpful and will attend to your every need Cons - The Wi-fi is pretty spotty depending on which room you book, especially on the rooms on the 2nd floor. Sometimes it would find the wi-fi network and then immediately then can’t find it. 1st floor rooms seem to be more consistent with wi-fi compared to the 2nd floor, but some of the 1st floor rooms have a communal bathroom and shower (kind of like US colleges) There is probably a dead zone in the first rooms of the 2nd floor. Getting a stronger/additional wifi extender/receiver probably can fix this - I don’t if it’s just the room I booked, but there were only 3 channels on the tv cable and none of them were watchable. It was kind of surreal since I never seen a lodge with that limited of a cable selection, so don’t plan to be watching cable here when you stay. The good news is that none of the tv ports are blocked off so you can technically connect a HDMI cable if you have one to the tv and hook up an external device like your laptop or Apple TV and watch tv that way. Despite these flaws, I really enjoyed the 1 and half days that I stayed there. It was a place where you can truly relax and meditate after you visit the tourist areas. The wifi issue and the cable issue really didn’t bother me much since this is place you would usually stay for about 1-2 days max to see the attractions and then leave.…
The rooms were good. Nice design, spacious especially at the front to sit and relax outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Limited food and drinks can be purchased from reception. Wifi was ok. Variable at times but worked. My only complaint would be the toilet inside the bathroom. The flush was broken so needed manual flushing with a bucket. There were a couple of toilets and showers in public areas outside that worked perfectly fine. Just disappointing the room one did not! The location was good as short walk to a few shops and main road and town centre. For us this was convenient to stay as after we went to do whale shark swimming and then proceeded next day to Kawasan Falls.
The staff here was super friendly and went out of their way to help. One person personally escorted me to the ATM and the coffee shop so I wouldn't get lost. They also arranged my tour to the whale sharks for a nominal fee. Unfortunately, the room was very damp and the property had a ton of mosquitos which left no place to just relax.
lodge's location is a 10 min. ride to oslob tourism office. dont worry they offer a ride going to oslob tourism office and back to hotel. they even assist us when we arrive to tourism office and patiently wait for us. we stayed in a room with 2 bunk beds. airconditioned. the place is ig worthy as well. walkable from the hiway for less than 5 min. we checked in super late still they accomodate us. there's no wifi but signal is cellular signal is good. also another point for the lodge that it is just 5 min walk to cuartel ruins. so before we checked out, we visit the ruins and had some photo ops. im not sure if they have a cafeteria, but anyway there's some on the main road. over all we had a great stay here even just for a night,
a really economic and good place to stay for solo or group travelers in and go to dive with the whale shark and going to the waterfalls and the sights in oslob. my stay was for two nights and i discovered it by a friend advice after stopping my trip to dumagete cuz advisory announce of cancellation all the ships and roros due to the typhoon that hitting cebu island and dumaguete, the place was nice the lola was soo welcoming and good hospitality, jessa was helpful and the place is amazing with all the trees and the small houses give u the feel of the beach village, and so quite in the night u can sleep well or gather with some friends. i really love the place and its not cost much , so comparing the value of service it was great .. ill be coming there again, this place is my ideal lodge as a backpacker or a big family .. it can fit for all thanks lola and jessa and all who work there .. i really appreciate ur hospitality and may God bless you all.. Merry Christmas in advance .…
The room was good value and the staff were friendly and helpful. Close to food, 7 Eleven, buses and you must visit the Heritage area just down the road and by the sea. The only negative is the distance from the whale sharks and boats to Sumilon Island but the staff organised a driver.
My friends and I stayed here and I really like the ambiance, and the staff are very accommodating. The wifi connection was superb, too! However, we found it very disappointing, the fact that they would turn off our air condition (via electricity breaker outside our room) whenever we were out enjoying our tour. And the most irritating part was everyday, in our 4 days of stay, we would need to ask for the staff to turn on the shower heater bec it wouldn't work.. We found out they always shut it down via the electricity breaker outside our room! Imagine the inconvenience, when you need to get up as early as 4Am to prepare for your day's itinerary and found out there's no hot shower! There was one time we toured Cebu City so we arrived in our accommodation at abt 12 midnight all tired and happy, then we found out our air conditioned has been shut down, as well as the hot shower! (again!) It was really a very nasty experience, we were paying for every whole day of stay, even though we would only use the room for a good nights sleep almost (bec we were obviously very busy outside everyday) and they couldn't provide us a good service. The hot shower incident happened everyday, meaning whenever we were about to take a bath, we need to go out first and ask them to turn the breaker on, bec its been shutdown again. And so did the air conditioned thing. I've stayed in diff hotels, some with stars and some, lodges like New Village, but Ive never experienced being deprived of the things I paid for.…
Really can't say much about our stay since we were only there for about 4 hours. The room is clean and the place is ok for the price. Since we arrived at 4 am due to the long bus queue, they were considerate enough to just charge us half of the room rate. They respond timely on my queries through messenger and they offered swim with whakesharks for a fee of Php 500 plus Php 100 transpo. All along, I thought that they will be assisting us with the tour but instead after we were dropped off at the site, we were endorsed to Arlis, boat operator, and we're on our own. We informed the driver from the resort that we're also going to Tumalog Falls and he said that we just have to inform Arlis so she can send him a text message and he'll pick us up. We paid Arlis for the whaleshark activity and we got our number. She then suggested we go to Tumalog Falls first since there's still 100+ before us on the queue, we agreed, and she then hailed a multicab (the driver happens to be her father) and we were charged Php 100 per head and we were dropped off near the highway then another Php 50 habal habal ride to Tumalog Falls. When we got back to the resort we were asked to pay Php 150 transpo per head (which was originally Php 100), we just paid it because we've already waited for almost an hour for the staff to get the approval of the resort's owner for the 50% off of the room rate and we don't want to wait for another hour just for the Php 50. This would've been a more pleasant experience if not for the hidden charges and if they were hands on with the tour, provided guides, etc. …
Hotel just fabulous the people I just can say nothing more then amazing...friendly ans helpful...the food was the best ever ...we eat many thimecasian food but hi never ever like here ... Hope we come back K again even is take long time flying
We booked in this village with my workmates for the whale watching the following day we arrived. Since there is no other thing to do around the place, we decided to gather around and had some good laugh with my co-officemates and while the boys are drinking beers all the talks became boisterous laughing and joking. It was still 3:00 in the afternoon yet the gay receptionist kept on calling our attention to keep quiet as we might awaken all the Russian tourist from the other part of the village that we were staying. To sum up my review, it is not advisable to stay here with friends and get some chitchat because you will not be allowed to make noise. And there is nothing to look forward to around the place, the beach is not clean. There were plastic seen everywhere with a lot of sea urchins.…
