Excellent location, walk is only couple of minutes to the main street...great Street food, shops and ATM.
Accommodation is very clean, comfortable and the host’s are fantastic!
The building is only a few years old and everything looks very well maintained and cared for, the ambience is lovely, there are 7 rooms in total, 1 single, 2 double, 2 triple and I believe 2 family rooms.
Price is excellent value for friendliness, location and comfort. All rooms are non smoking but there are upstairs little balcony with tables outside where you can sit and drink and or smoke. And downstairs there is large table with the ability to get a drink plus has Tea and Coffees making facilities, there’s a Fridge and is all based on an honesty system in case you want a late night cuppa or coke or beer.
Just pay in the morning 👍😃

Best place overall I stayed to date!

I couldn’t recommend this place enough! The room was nice, clean and comfortable, the surroundings were relaxing and beautiful. With just a 2 minute walk you reach the church and the ruins, and also the beach is very close by ♥️ Not to mention the hosts were very nice and helpful, made us feel so welcome! 🙏

We stayed 2 days in Malonzo Pension House and were sad to leave. It was a really nice stay: cheap rooms, very clean, A/C but most of all: very friendly owner - familial and hospitable.
It is directly located in the city of Oslob and the location for whaleshark watching tours is just 10 minutes by jeepney away. The owner guides you there, if you wish to.
The price performance ratio is great.
When you stay in one of the upper rooms, you have a small balcony with ocean view. And on the opposite of the street you can pass to be directly on the beach.

I am surprised myself at the necessity of my having to write a negative review of this property

It is a small owner-operated enterprise, located in short walking distance from Oslob's significant cultural properties.

I have no problem with what other reviewers have written but I cannot ignore my own personal experience.

As I prepared to depart, I brought all my belongings to the reception area. I thought I might have a pre-departure soft drink. The owner advised that he would check the room. "Are you afraid I stole the sheets?" I teased.

That set him off. I feared that the subsequent shouting match would result in my assault and physical injury. Fortunately staff and his spouse arrived in timely fashion and this avoided.

This man has no reason to work in the hospitality industry.

I can NOT recommend this property. Fortunately, there are many visibly acceptable competitors in this immediate neighbourhood. Stay elsewhere!

We only stayed here for one night, to go snorkeling with the whalesharks in the morning (which was a fantastic experience).
The people from Malanzo were very nice and very helpful with everything. Arranged our rides and after we came back from snorkeling with the whalesharks our breakfast was ready, excellent service.
Rooms are fine, clean and nice size, pretty basic, but very good value for money.
Next to whaleshark watching there is not much to do in Oslob, so you probably won't be staying there for long.

The family who run the pension house are so lovely and couldn't do enough for us while we stayed here!

We arrived quite late at night and we had a warm welcome and they even helped us book our Whale Shark tour for the next morning. We went really early and returned for breakfast which was great and reasonably priced.

After breakfast they sorted us a waterfall and island tour which really reasonably priced and very good- I'd recommend this if you're in Oslob!

The room was great and had everything we needed, as well as being in a quiet location for a good night's sleep!

Malonzo Pension House deserve all the praise people give them. Because they do not just provide you a place to stay in Oslob, they also provide you a home in Oslob. Mommy Eva is very kind and they also have an honesty policy in the store below them, you can take anything and just list it down then pay after it afterwards, they dont pressure you to pay upfront. The room does not have a tv though but it is ok because most of the time you are outside. It is also walking distance to Oslob Heritage Park and the Church made of Corals. This review is quite overdue though as we stayed end of 2014. But if they still do this kind of service, I would really recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our stay with the Malonzos. The room was spotlessly clean. The sheets, towels and shower curtain were changed the third day of our stay. We had them arrange transportation to see the Whale Sharks and the driver walked us through the entire process from start to finish. If you rent a camera from the Whale Shark venue (550Php), do not forget to bring your iPhone so that the pictures can be downloaded.
The best way for us to find the house was to walk down the street across from the 7-11 and take a right at the first street. Walk along this street, cross the next street and the Pension House is on the right (5 minute walk from the bus stop).
They also recommended taking the new ferry (1000Php) from Oslob to Panglao. It took less than two hours for the trip.
If you need to use the Wifi make sure you do so before 10pm.

I spent a weekend at Oslob and stayed at this location for Saturday and Sunday night. Room is very clean and tidy, even cleaner than some SPG hotels out there! I was welcomed by the host upon my arrival. After getting the administrative work done, she asked me what my plans were for the weekend and recommended a few things for me to do. I had no plans and was gonna join some local tours anyways so I told her my preferences. She recommended whale shark tour in the morning at 6am, the waterfalls to follow and spending the rest of the day at Sumilon island.

I was taken around to these places by the host with a motorbike for 300php for the day. The whale shark tour costs 1000php for foreigners, entrance fee for falls was 20php, and island day tour was 2000php. Fair prices for all in my opinion as I have seen more expensive tours being recommended on trip advisor. You get to interact with the whale shark for 30mins, you can bring your own under camera if you have one or you can rent one for 550php. The boat man will take pictures for you if you rent one and they even help you find good angles and spots for pics with the whale shark. Photos will be transferred to you right after if you have an iPhone or Android, or else they can also give you a CD with the photos in it. The waterfall was amazing. The host was there the whole time and took photos for me as I was travelling solo. At Sumilon island you get to use their facilities including the pool, the private beach, lunch buffet, snorkelling and kayaking.

The host came to pick me up at the designated time and sent me back to the hotel. The WiFi at the hotel was also stable, I was able to watch Netflix before I went to bed! Great stay at this family run hotel overall, value outweighs the price for sure. Definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a simple and clean room to stay while exploring the area during the day.
