I booked this place without doing my homework but was pleasantly surprised upon check-in that the rooms were very clean and spacious with great views. The restaurant was also extremely accommodating, as my friend and I are vegan. What blew us out of the park, though, was how incredibly organized the trip out to the whale sharks was, especially after hearing horror stories of people waiting for hours and then being told to come back the next day (swimming with the sharks is only permitted from 6am-12pm); we were one of the first vans there, had a seat for a few minutes as they gave the safety briefing, and then waited another few minutes for the sun to come up so we could depart. Then, we were in the first group of boats to go out! I am NEVER this lucky, so I could barely believe it - it seems the hotel must have some sort of arrangement or just knows exactly how to play it's cards right. We were back at the hotel by 7am. It was the most efficient and organized "tour" I had in my entire life, and I have been to over 100 countries. HIGHLY recommended!

Upon arrival from the airport, we took the public bus from Cebu South Bus Terminus and informed the driver to stop us at the Oslob - Bangcogon Resort resort (BRR). The resort is near to the road. Its so easy and convenient. The ground of the walkway to the resort reception is uneven. I had brought a trolley luggage bag and had to carry it. But on the day I checked out, the hotel staff helped carried it to the main road.

I booked the room directly with BRR via whatsapp and we paid cash upon check out.

We stayed at the Annex Room for 1 night only. Room was clean, basic but comfortable. AC, water heater and wifi were working well. Only 1 small bar of soap was provided in the bathroom. Bought shampoo from the resort shop. There was no safe box in the room. The resort was full of guests but it was big enough for all of us. It was quiet and peaceful at night.

We ate all our meals at the resort restaurant which were delicious. There was a water cooler to top up your water bottle. Beside the indoor restaurant area, there is a lovely outdoor eating area with tables and chairs. Resort is right on the beach. Nice place to relax and enjoy the sea view and you could see the Sumilon island infront.

We woke up 5am for the Whale Shark trip and back to the resort for our breakfast. Next we went to nearby Tumalog Falls then back to resort for lunch. After checking out, we placed our bags at their office and head for Sumilon island. The jetty is at the resort.. so convenient. All the trips were well arranged by the resort and we enjoyed them tremendously. They make it so easy for us.

All staff at the resort is friendly and helpful. We felt safe all the time. Almost lost my mobile phone but staff kept it for me.

BRR takes care of everything for us, from food, all trip arrangements and transportation. Highly recommended and hope to come back again.

Pirsy thing and most important is that the oner mety is a good person!
He was really cooperate even from the first message in Facebook, he can help you plan the vacation because he know everything and everyone and helped us with the day tour schedule so we could do all our wishes.
He can also arrange for you the transportation to his resort in a reasonable price.
The rooms were very clean, the place is maintained ,they have hot water and the food was very delicious , prices are really good.
We felt very safe and happy in this vacation of 2 nights.
Mety really did his best for us so we can enjoy and relax.
I really recommend this place!

"been asked if you want to return where would you go?" - hands down this resort. Its value for money but be surprised with great food, superb service - not just in the resort but all around the spots you'll go to, their staff will take of you, each guest is attended to by the owners - its like coming home where everyone is smiling...Id go back anyday...

Great location, private and quiet. This facility offers a million dollars view. The food at the restaurant is awesome. The staff is very nice. But there was a party closed by to the hotel between 8-10 pm and it was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. Water power is not so great.

A great place to stay in Oslob right along the beach with great views of the Sea, the Sunrise and Sumilon Island.
We opted for the Queen rooms with seaview and had a great stay at this simple and quaint resort.
The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding.

You won't get what you paid for. Upon arrival I was taken to an outdated dirty room in the old building set in a chaotic environment. After complaining it didn't match my booking and refusing to fill the arrival form, I was taken to a better room in the new building 100m away (same thing happened next day with another guest) but... I got a tiny room, a bed, a bathroom and that's it. Neither closet, nor anything to place my clothes.

Next morning, awaken at 6:30 am by noise from neighbours, motor boats, minivans with shouting groups staffs bringing in loads of Chinese/Korean to go on whale-shark watching (fed for tourism purpose, like it or not), coming back 2 hours later and taking over the place for breakfast or lunch. Too bad for your quietness

In fact Bangcogon is not only a hotel but also a local hub targeting local "resorts" to boat around their clients !!!

Last but not least, if you don't have your own transportation, you will get stuck here for eating because there is no other option 5km around.

If you want a good value comfortable, quiet and relaxing place, go somewhere else. Plenty other options around.

+++ : friendly and helpful staff
---- : all the above
issue : My own scuba diving gear disappeared from my terrace during the first night. After complaining, the manager brought it back 10mn later, awkwardly explaining it was placed in a lost and found box. My gear wasn't lost but drying on my terrace !!!!

Visited Oslob for a tour.

Rooms - we stayed in a Mama nipa hut, the flooring was not stable as it is moving, AC - was noisy, heater was not working, toilet - very small and the shower water pressure was too slow and is directed to the toilet seat, no mirror so i had to use my mobile camera to fix myself.

Food - tasty and affordable.

Kim - very good in terms of hospitality.

I've stayed here twice already. First was last Dec 2019 with my family. They had fun snorkeling in front of the resort compared to when we are in Sumilon. We avail of their whale watching services and they arranged everything.

My second visit was last Mar 2022 with my partner, some friends, and our dogs. The place was the same and the staff are friendly as always. They just need to communicate more internally. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, the owner welcomed us and told us that we could stay at the main area or at their annex's beach front while waiting for check-in time. We went to their annex area because there were less people there compared to their main bldg. We had fun and got lost of time, it was already past 2pm when we came back to the main bldg to ask for our assigned rooms. Originally, we booked 4 aircon rooms online, but one week before our stay they called us and said that they could only give us 2 aircon rooms and 1 fan room because of some electricity issue, we agreed because we understood that they are also affected by typhoon Odette. But I just realized that, maybe, they miscalculated their incoming guests and they just have to move us to the fan rooms because every room was occupied when we came. Going back to check-in situation, when we got our keys for our aircon rooms there was only 1 bed each room, supposedly there should be an extra bed, because 3 persons are staying in 1 room (we already made sure of this when we booked online and when they called us a week before). The staff didn't know the no. of persons per room, the one who called us (that arranged our 4 aircon rooms to 2aircon rooms) didn't relay properly how many persons we requested per room. Ugh. it was stressful explaining and requesting (again and again) that our booking requires extra beds. Anyway, check-in was stressful, but the rest of our stay was fine.. oh except during breakfast, 3 of our friends was questioned (more than once) if they surely have free breakfast.

I really love my stay last 2019 and I love that they are pet-friendly.. I was thinking that they would be my go-to resort at Oslob, but now I'm thinking twice because of our 2nd visit. But I would still recommend this resort because majority of their staff are friendly and you could really relax here because there are no other resorts beside them (less crowded).
