We enjoyed our stay in this cosy and clean room. View in the restaurant for breakfast is amazing and the staff is very helpful and friendly! They organized everything for us: excursion to see the whale sharks, scooter rental, boat transfer, etc. We definitively recommend this hotel!
Ocean View Lodging House is a basic hotel or lodging house located close to Poblacion in Oslob. It is walking distance from market and restaurants. Whale Shark sanctuary is 15 minutes drive away. Lodging house is basic, rooms have no view (despite what name says), rooms are not made up daily, and shower requires a bit more pressure. But all of this is largely compensated by the incredible service that Ms baby offers - she really takes care of everything for you if you want... reservations, travel arrangements, dive booking, transportation, etc. This is a level of service most hotels can learn from - and she made our stay absolutely fabulous, despite typhoon hick-ups and schedule rearrangements - thanks a lot Baby!
We stayed at Ocean View Lodging for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The lady on the front desk is so helpful, she arranged our whale shark and Sulimon Island trip and the travel/ferry to Bohol - we didn’t have to do anything. The room was big enough and breakfast was really pleasant. The only downside is the water pressure for the shower, there was no way I could wash my hair in it, it was so slow but apart from that it was really good. I also left my ring in the room when we checked out and they managed to get it all the way to me on the ferry before we set off - thank you so much!
A lovely family who gave us a grea5 room upstairs, which was all we needed, then they organised our trip in the morning to the whale sharks, after which we had breakfast. It is also very close to the church and old ruins which are certainly worth a stop.
the host is enthusiastic and nice upon our arrival. Which give us good impression. This hotel feature a outstanding platform, so its name ocean view. The staff not like 5 star , but they have service concept. We felt relax and comfortable. This hostel is good type for long run living in for tourists. They offer whale shark wathing service,no overcharged.but you need get up at 4 am,and took tuktuk to the seaside site.about waiting for 3 hours, because so crowded, Really torture for us.but after visting whale shark, its worthy.
Stayed here for the weekend and it was definitely a wonderful holiday. The lodge is very accessible as it is walking distance to the highway to catch the bus, a few restaurants nearby to choose from and it is right on the beach. WE didn't get the chance to swim around as the tide was low during the day and we were out most of the time. But it was a perfect ambience for breakfast, get to eat facing the ocean. Place is very well maintained and water pressure is good. And like everyone else, I would highly commend the hospitality from the owner down to the staff who were all friendly and very welcoming. The whale watching area is still about 15 minutes drive away but the owner arranged this for us so all we have to do is just show up. WE did get up early to be there when they open at 6AM, kinda early but it well worked out for us since we planned to drive around and check the waterfalls. If there is anything that needs to be improved, it would be the curtains. Personally, I prefer when it is totally dark to sleep. They did use the dark colored curtain but it still let some light in especially when the light along the hallway was turned on the entire night. It did not affect my overall stay though so I would still come back here and would highly recommend this to anyone who plans to visit Oslob.…
We spent 1 night there, the family runs the bussines very well done. It’s just a little hotel for your stay in Oslob. Baby the owner is amazing friendly and she will look after you in every detail or information you may need. Room really clean and breakfast beautiful. If you are thinking to pass by Oslob for the whale shark or any other activity I recomen this place to stay ocean view lodging is cheap, clean and you will feel like in family.
we were checked in at ocean view oslob for 2 days, drove from cebu city for almost 4 hours before reaching the town of oslob. we were welcomed by the owner, ate baby and her angels by the hotel and helped us with our luggages. the hotel is nearby the market , on where you could buy grilled seafoods at a very reasonable price. the room is kinda small but it was surprisingly clean and to top it all, the view outside the room is just.. superb! the warm hospitality of the owner made us wanting to go back to oslob :) thanks ate baby! i'll make sure to recommend your hotel to other guests. :) oh, and breakfast by the beach is just an icing on the cake! more power to you guys!!!
We have just spent 2 nights here and we honestly felt so welcome. All of the family here are so nice and friendly. They do anything to help, including organising tours, laundry service, nice breakfast and help with onward travel plans. Our room was very nice, clean, perfect amount of space for 2, decent bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is good, close to main road for food and other shops. We did a full day tour with one of the family members, on the back of his bike. He was great and was happy to wait for us no matter how long we spent in places. (Aguinie falls, Tumalog falls and Sumilon Island) We would highly recommend this place!
We stayed here a couple of nights and we were very comfortable. We were given a warm welcome and the owner showed us around and explained a few trip options from their resort. I had read up on what to do and costs etc and their rates were priced fairly. We just did the whale sharks and Tumalog water falls. We set off by trike at 07:00 and waited around 1 hr at the whale shark centre. We paid 1000 pesos to swim with the whalesharks. It was an amazing experience, well worth it. Afterwards we were taken to the waterfall and that too was amazing. The trike driver waits until you are finished. Only 20 pesos to enter. The trike transportation at the hotel came to 500 pesos for 2 people. It starts off at 150 each but adds on extras like taking you up the mountain. My Wife went up with the trike driver and I took a habal habal cost 50p one way. Then coming down we both used the same trike driver. If you wanted to cut cost of travel, the buses that you can catch are only a short walk away, wave one down, they come every 20 mins and they can drop you off right outside the whale centre for around 20 pesos. The waterfalls are on the same stretch of road and motorbikes will take you up the mountain for 50 pesos one way. At the top you have an option to walk down a very steep bank or catch another habal habal. It is walkable but very steep! Both trip areas are around 10 kms from the hotel. Oslob town has a good atmosphere, not much around like bars etc. Just a handful of average restaurants and a decent 7/11. The buses run frequently in both directions from the main street. The terrace overlooking the ocean is lovely. Spent a few hours relaxing here watching the ocean and local fishermen. You can snorkel in front of the resort, its ok, few starfish etc. Rooms are basic, no fridge or wardrobe but it is very clean. Has tv but we couldn't figure how to use it. Shower is hot. Got a few pegs so you can hang clothes. It's a good place to meet other travellers. …
