My husband and I stayed at this hotel for my birthday, thinking it would be a good jumping off point for shopping, Newport Beach, etc. The hotel is nicely upkept, and the staff I encountered at the front desk were very nice. Parking is only self park right now, which I prefer, and it’s $39/night. I feel like that’s a bit overpriced, but what can you do. Masks are required indoors. I would say everything was good except two things. Wifi in the room is not free, and reception is terrible. So if you’re relaxing, looking up places to go, eat, etc., websites either won’t load or it takes forever. The second thing not so good was the bed. It wasn’t the worst ever, but definitely not Westin quality. It felt old maybe? Either way, if in the area, I would consider staying again.
Room and hallway smell to weed. they do not know how to enforce to be fair for all their clients at the pool it would be preferable that they close them if they do not know how to handle it. I was not available to use the pool I waist all my day waiting to be available to use then
Paying for full service with zero amenities. Pool hours Hours: Fri,Sat,Sun: 11:30 AM - 07:00 PM. Using this pandemic to cut the budget. Go back to full service when its over and you can get what you paid for. For now Hilton Garden inn and Fairfield Inn will do.
We came from the very hot desert and had a great two days at the Westin! From check in to check out, every single member of this team was right on it and great. Got a nice room on 16 overlooking the beautiful park like settings. Very nice even without daily maid service. Also no room service, so figure out breakfast and lunch/snacks before you get there. Masks required in hotel and they keep it very clean. Pool is restricted to about 1/3 of normal capacity. We had no issue, a small snack bar with beer and snacks available at pool and lobby. Great dining all around. Also fantastic walk routes and we used them all as the gym is closed. I highly recommend this hotel!
I wish I could give the property a 0 star. It’s the most dated Westin I have ever been to. Currently there are no doormen or valet. The restaurant, bar, lobby, and pool are closed. There are no stay well products or water bottles in the rooms. They are not doing house keeping. It’s $40 a night to park in a empty garage in a ghost town across the street. There is no reason to pay double to sleep in a hotel with no amenities. I wasted a whole 2 days here after staying at Pasea which everything was open and you can see the ocean. Before that I stayed at Balboa Bay Resort which was also on the ocean and everything was open. The stay before that was at Marriott Newport Resort and Spa. Don’t waste your money staying at a old hotel with nothing to do in a ghost town.
