I'm sorry but Corey at the front desk took 30 minutes to attend each person. I waited one hour to check in and there were three people in front of me. There was a mistake with my cards so I had to go back to fix them and same thing Corey took an extra 40 minutes to attend me. Marriott you need to hire more staff or fix something. Definitely not staying here again
I would normally have given this a 5 rating but there were just enough things that were off about this experience that knocked it to a 4. First off, the lobby is lovely and the staff was friendly. We were there on business and got upgraded to the two-room suites with coastline view (we are Ambassador elite). The two room suites are well suited for families (1 king bed and then a bedroom with 2 twins). The rooms were quiet and clean. The bathrooms could definitely use a remodel. I have no idea how a family of 4 shares that, especially after a long day at Legoland. We didn't use the pool/spa at all. The service at the main restaurant was slow for both breakfast and dinner, but they may have been understaffed. My two issues with the hotel: in the early evening they were roasting/cooking? some kind of bacon and the smell wafted up to the rooms above. If you really love bacon, you probably loved this. But as my husband and I don't eat bacon and generally don't seek out that smell, it was kind of gross after awhile. The only way you wouldn't smell it was by closing your balcony door. And finally, we had a few items get delivered to the hotel that we needed for business. Each time it was a bit of a sh*tshow getting the packages to our room. We had to call down multiple times and someone would have to go looking for it and there was lack of communication if the items had been found, when they would be brought up, etc. This would be several hours after the packages were delivered, too. So it seems like they don't have any kind of system or protocol to deal with packages being delivered for guests which they could really improve on. This added unnecessary stress and time to our trip which was already quite short. We did have a chance to eat lunch at the Westin, and based on the food and lobby alone, my recommendation would be to stay there over the Sheraton if there on business.…
I booked the Sheraton last minute because the Legoland hotel was sold out. I’m so glad the other place as not available because my kids and I had the best time at the Sheraton. It was super clean, serene, and welcoming. My kids loved the pool and the water slide. I loved the top notch service, beauty and comfort. Such a great experience, and will definitely go again. I have honestly never experienced such warm and efficient customer service from the staff in the restaurant, the bartenders and the front desk, especially Danai. Highly recommend!
I’ve stayed here twice this year on 10-day long business trips. The rooms are comfortable, if a bit small. Parking is easy but pricey if your package doesn’t include a voucher. The front desk staff’s capabilities are hit and miss. The large pool with water slide is a big draw for families in the warmer months so be prepared for that. There’s a gelato bar so that’s nice. The gym is fairly small but ok. The road it’s situated on is a beautiful palm tree lined stretch. But the thing about this hotel, and the reason I’ll keep coming back, is the restaurant’s breakfast. The menu is great, the vibe is relaxed, the coffee just keeps coming. The servers are super friendly, surprisingly accommodating at 6:30am.
Friendly staff and excellent quick getaway. The room is clean, comfortable, and love the morning walk with my dog. Truly a nice place to go. I strongly recommend this place especially when you need a nice quiet and close proximity to the ocean and of course Legoland is within walking distance!
A fabulous little getaway for the family. Pros: dog friendly, but not a ton of dogs. Lovely little spots outdoors to enjoy your coffee. Decent workout room with plenty of dumbbells. Beautiful pool, though maybe a little cold. Great hot tub. Our suite (Ponto) was spacious with two bedrooms - king size in one and 2 twins in the other, with living space/ couch in between. We even got a coupon for free gelato. Private back entrance to Legoland, nice views. I love having space on vacation... Family of 4 (3 adult sized humans), plus a dog. Cons: as is typical for resort places, there's the resort fee plus daily parking fee. Just add it to the cost of the room. Also, mini fridge and coffee maker only. I like to be able to prep a bit more than that so at least a microwave is great when I can get it. All in all, we've stayed at several places in the Carlsbad area over the years, and this one is probably the best.…
We stayed for 9 nights. The hotel is very nice and clean but starting to look a littles tired in places, especially in the rooms. The pool area is nice, especially for children. There is a coffee bar by the pool, unfortunately the coffee machine was broken for the duration of our stay and had been for the week prior to our arrival staff advised, so hot coffee was not an option (but was available at breakfast). With the proximity the Lego Land it obviously attracts families, we found at weekends there were lots of younger teens hanging around communal areas and in lifts, obviously bored. We had breakfast included with our booking and the arrangements were very inconsistent. What our breakfast “voucher” entitled us to changed several times. Sometimes it was one entrée per person, sometimes $20 per person other days it was different again. The breakfast itself was nice but again inconsistent, some days a dish would come with toast and somedays it didn’t. The Ride the Tide Trolly was very good and stopped at the hotel. We used it to go to the beech and the outlet. The time table is a little fluid at times so be there 10 minutes early to avoid disappointment. Lot’s of things appear to be included, towels at the pool for example, but they do charge a “resort fee” so keep an eye on this when calculating costs.…
the pool area was very nice, but the bar/food service was difficult. It's a resort property, so some of your point-status benefits don't apply. It would have been perfect if I could have had the late checkout that I was expecting.
We stayed 10 weeks at the Sheraton carlsbad. The staff is awesome Hunter is always ready to make you feel comfortable and at home. Anisa and Ashley are also great and so welcoming. Connor at the grab and go is such a hard worker and very nice to the kids. When the hotel has the slide going Antonio, Darrel and Jacob always made sure the kids were safe but still having the most fun possible. Axl at the bar makes a great drink and is always enjoyable.
This resort is wonderful! The lobby and restaurant area is clean, updated and the ambience is great. Our check in and check out process was smooth and the staff everywhere we encountered them were super friendly. The pool area is so much for the kids and not bad for adults too. Our room was nice with a balcony that wasn’t dusty, the amenities in the bathroom were great, we didn’t need to call for an iron or ironing board because it was already there. My family and I had a great stay and we would definitely stay here again.
