We have been coming to La Costa since our first baby moon. We love the grounds and the kids adore the pool. The location is great to see lots of what Southern California has to offer. The only suggestion we would have is that the guests rooms could use a facelift. Given the price per night we would expect a bit fresher rooms.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our 2nd time staying at the La Costa Resort. Our first time had some minor hiccups that mgmt quickly rectified and so we decided to return. Our kids loved the pool and slide in the family pool area. Some of the rooms are older in different bldgs, but overall it was clean and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful and we also rented a cabana for the day. The cabana staff was 5 star and would definitely recommend it since pool area is very busy. If your kids have water toys make sure to keep an eye on it as one of my son’s water toys went missing. Their coffee shop in hotel is quick and you can even order a whole pizza if you’re too lazy to go anywhere for dinner or lunch. Make sure to order ahead of time since it’s a popular idea after the pool when everyone is starving.

This is a very nice resort even if you are here for work. I could not use all the pools and hot tubs, but they looked very inviting. Convenient valet parking (free if it’s not overnight), which was helpful as I had to check out of the spacious room before the conference ended. Staff was very friendly. Two small minuses: very minor deficiencies in house keeping and why does the nice gym close so early (9 pm)?

Omni Resort is out of line. On 11/15/22, a Tuesday, they had a fireworks show at 9pm with complete disregard for the surrounding residents. No warning given to the neighborhood. Do they think no one has kids?

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa partnered with Fireworks America to deliver a show for a conference taking place at the resort. Although permitting was received within the city bi-laws and communication with nearby residents was fully intended, we soon realized that due to miscommunication, notification letters were not sent. We recognize the negative impact these shows can have on families and pets, and sincerely apologize for the disruption. Rest assured that moving forward, we have procedures in place to ensure proper notifications are sent in advance. I was here for a conference and booked with a discounted conference rate so maybe I got an older room. The showerhead had so much calcification there was a stalactite forming. The water in the shower didn’t drain and took three times to have it resolved. There was no plastic trim around the shower door so the water flooded the bathroom floor. The property itself has potential, but it is very dark and confusing to find your way around especially at night. Being here for a conference in November it was dark early. The bartenders were nice, but felt like one them kept trying to upsell every drink. The cocktails were average, but the bar was busy so maybe they were able to provide full service. The food at Vue was very good, but the waitstaff was never around when needed. They seemed to disappear for 20+ minutes at a time, but it was not very busy.

So my family stayed at the Carlsbad Omni and booked the trip through Legoland's website. When we checked in, within minutes, we saw ants all over the room. We had ants in our bed, and our kids pull out bed. It was disgusting. We asked to be moved rooms, and they said they were sold out. This wasn't true. They sent two engineering to our room, and they said there was nothing they could do about the ants and they should tell the hotel to move our room. We said they had already told us no and seemed surprised, as in they both knew rooms were available. We asked them to change the sheets and vacuum the room while we went to dinner, and they said they would. This didn't happen. On the way to dinner, my wife even pulled an ant off of her neck. The ants were everywhere. In our luggage, where we slept, in the bathroom. It was infested. The next morning I went to a work meeting, leaving my wife and kids at the hotel. At 9am the hotel moved my wife and kids to a new room and gave them a $100 food and drink voucher. That's a joke. My wife fed the kids at the hotel because she didn't have a car to take them someplace else and spent the day at Legoland, not really spending time in the new room. I came back after work, and we went to dinner. When we came back, we put the kids to bed, and I laid down and realized the bed was broken. The head sagged so low my feet were above my head. We ended up calling the hotel, and they offered to move us, but at this point, the kids were in bed asleep. There was nothing we could do. I wasn't moving my kids after 10 pm. My wife and I had two bad nights of sleep. This whole experience was so disappointing. For a hotel with room rates at almost $500 to have to get two bad nights of sleep, dealing with ants and a broken bed is ridiculous. I reached out to the Omni and to Legoland. Legoland has done nothing. Their official stance is that what the Omni did for us was enough. They don't even have a customer service department. If you want a bad night's sleep at an over priced hotel when visiting an average-at-best theme park, this is for you!

We had a great stay at the OMNI LA Costa Hotel. It is truly a beautiful space with excellent landscaping and great service from their team. The pools were crystal clear, warm and inviting. Food was great, too. We have stayed here before and will be back again. Thanks OMNI!

This is a shout out for the VALET staff at the Omni La Costa. During my flight to San Diego, my bag did not make it on my (close) connecting flight, so the airline took my destination information and told me it would arrive by noon the next day. Well, of course, it didn't. In checking with the valet staff, I learned some of the details of when the bag was likely to arrive ("we are usually the last stop on the delivery route, so probably not until late in the day"). Went back to the hotel when the delivery driver called to say it had been dropped off. It had been taken directly to the front desk, but valet were able to find that out and retrieve it for me. How refreshing it is to deal with people who are truly interested in serving you in the way that is best for you! Thanks, gentlemen!

PLEASE READ BEFORE PLANNING a Corporate Event or family vacation The absolute worst experience. I plan to liquidate my points immediately. Please steer clear when planning a Corporate or Business Event. Even lesiure. Business center is not user friendly. Front desk or rude and obnoxious. Watch out for speeding vehicles, speed limit is 15, almost got hit my a speeding car. Spa was worst experience. Maids were rude! I have Omni Annual Resort Pass as well....please select another hotel. This was the worst experience as Omni Elite 😔😔
