The rooms were too far from the pool. I had to drive the kids to the pool. The walkway was very dirty and needed to be power washed, many bags of laundry and garbage bags lined the walkway everyday. The noise from Lego Land at night after the park closed was terrible. there were very loud power equipment and blowers all night. Had to keep the slider closed in order to sleep. The main entrance building, pool and timeshare presentation areas are beautiful. But the area where you satay as a timeshare guest is so dirty and unacceptable. This could be fixed by supplying large bins for garbage.and laundry bags and cleaning!
Wonderful experience for families and couples alike with a pleasant staff and convenient location and amenities. The place is spacious and clean while also fun and comfortable for those visiting the greater San Diego area
The beauty of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club MarBrisa in Carlsbad is beyond expectations. The architecture, manicured grounds — the lobby with its decor. Elegance at its best! Then we opened the door to our "split units." I was so shocked I had to sit down. I dropped down on the reject-eject sofa, sliding to the floor, and just stayed there in silence. The interior was Motel 6. Mix-matched appliances. cabinets chipped and scraped and painted over in caca brown. The dining room table was so close to the kitchen bar's two chairs, that both could not be used at the same time. That table had a bench on one side . . . a bench and too many chairs around. No one would be able to seat comfortably. [And this is for Thanksgiving week.] The lighting in the cavernous bathroom was like putting on makeup by candlelight. And we had to call maintenance for ants and to bring us a house phone. There was a house phone he pointed out. "That cylinder is the house phone," he said. Oh my. Our 7-day stay turned into just 2. We left and didn't look back. Don't look at those pictures on the RCI website for this Hilton GRAND. Those units are only in one building. Oh, and did I tell you there was scaffolding outside our unit? SO DISAPPOINTING. So here's the deal. If you rent a Hilton through RCI, Hilton honors their owners FIRST. Meaning that RCI only has the slimy units in its inventory to rent to you. Forget about purchasing that "upgrade" package too. There's rarely a chance to upgrade. …
What a beautiful resort with everything nearby highly recommended this for families particularly during the summer months pools we great and staff very attentive. Downtown Carlsbad is close by with a variety of restaurants.
We really enjoy staying here. Very clean, personable staff and amazing pool area for us and our grandkids. Service to get items took longer than expected but they arrived. The only complaint is the high parking fee charged per day. The parking lot is uncovered and there is no reserved parking. It is very frustrating paying so much just to park your rental car.
Guests Services were pleasant and professional. The resort’s landscape are well maintained. Amenities (pool, jacuzzi, fitness center are nicely maintained. Quick Responsiveness to owner’s request for services.
The staff is very friendly, responsive and accommodating. The room was clean but basic. We had a studio room. The pool and grounds were clean and safe. Know that this is not really a hotel; it is a timeshare resort (they did not push the timeshare thing on us). There are no restaurants or bars on the premises except a small Grill by the pool. It is fine, but has limited food and drinks. It is open as the weather allows. Very good food and drinks are located at the hotels across the street.
We were visiting with family and thought the photos of the property looked really good, despite a few poor ratings. We had booked 3 units, so there was a good opportunity to compare the different room types and finishings. We had: 1) A 2BR lock-off 2) A 2BR standalone 3) A 1BR The 2BR lock-off was essentially a 1BR + a studio with a connecting door. It seemed like it was slightly less well-appointed than the 2BR standalone unit that we had. Comparatively, the 1BR unit itself was also smaller than the other 1BR that we had booked. The bathroom is not ensuite in this layout, and it was a shower in a tub layout. No closet space available and almost zero space to hang things up like wet towels! The 2BR standalone is 2 bedrooms within a single unit without any connecting doors. So there was only one kitchen (instead of a kitchenette in the studio for the 2BR lock-off). This type of unit would best suit a family with kids, as everyone is within the same space. The bathroom in this unit is ensuite with the 'master' and came with a full-size soaking tub, separate shower and separate toilet. The 2nd bathroom is not ensuite, and has the same layout as the 2BR lock-off unit. However the overall finishing of the 2BR standalone unit seems to be of higher quality than the lock-off. The furniture seems newer and upgraded, even though the master bathroom still needed tiles and counter-top upgrades. The 1BR unit had an ensuite bathroom like the 2BR standalone, and was larger than the 1BR in the lock-off unit. All units had in-room washer and dryer, which as a huge plus. Overall, there was a lot of variation in the units and it would be difficult to know which unit you would get at the point of booking unless you have previously stayed there and know the unit configurations. At the point of booking, we were not clear what "lock-off" or "standalone" units meant. Despite them being specified as such, for first-timers, it was not clear to us what those terms meant. It caused us a bit of angst with the one of the receptionists, who was not only unhelpful and unfriendly, but also seemed to relish the fact that she was not able/going to help us with changing out 2BR standalone into a 2BR lock-off. This was possibly the only bad point in our 9-day stay at the property. Housekeeping in one of the units was sloppy, I was still sweeping up hair and dirt after they had supposedly cleaned. But other than these two bad points, the property is recommended for families especially those wanting to visit Legoland or just to have some R&R time. One of the buildings was being upgraded while we were there, but they were not intrusive with noise. We would stay there again if we wanted to visit the area. …
This resort is absolutely beautiful. The units are amazing and the grounds are clean. The units are up to date and the furniture is comfortable. there is a view of the ocean from the balcony and if you have little ones, Legoland is right next door. The pools are abundant
We were in unit 5334. Nothing bad to report, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The property, staff, responsiveness to requests, villa size and setup, furniture, beds, sofas, kitchen, amenities, location, convenience, on-site pools Jacuzzis restaurants, everything was top-notch!
