1nite after late afternoon airport arrival Very basic accomodation but clean with AC and quiet Bedspread and mattress showing age We were the only guests and restaurant was closed Recep recommended a local small resto but had to walk in the dark for at least 1/2 mile to find it Included bfast was spartan to say the least..no choice for eggs prep Proprietor very friendly but his primary interest is the farm
This place has hot water and ac (not always the case when visiting Costa Rica)!!!! The owner is very helpful and welcoming. There is a private river on property, and you can walk through the fields and just listen to the sounds of many types of birds. There is a hammock to relax in, they have Wifi, and breakfast is included. It is very close (15 min drive) to rincon de vieja where you can go zip lining, horseback riding, tubing, and natural hot springs mud bath. It's about 10 min drive from "downtown" Liberia where there are a lot of food options. There is a good restaurant that is about a 15 min walk nearby. If you are looking for a great Costa Rican experience, then this is the place to stay. We came here with another couple, and we both said we would stay again.
The Rancho us very authentic and the rooms are spacious and clean, but basic. Thin walls..... Kind staff, basic breakfast included. Well located, just outside Liberia, beautiful surroundings. Reasonably priced.
Had a lovely one night stay. Owner is extremely kind and helpful, told us he wanted us to think of it as our home. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, we really enjoyed the hammocks out in front as well as the howler monkeys out back that we were directed toward. We didn't stay long enough to be able to walk out to the river, but heard from other guests that it was well worth the walk. Basic breakfast served in the morning and dinner available on site in the evening for an additional fee.
We stayed in one of the villas. The owners were helpful and very nice. Breakfast was simple and decent enough. The water in our villas was cool, we never figured out how to get the hot water to work in the shower, but didn't ask for help. Eric gave us great tips to get to the volcano and what to do in the area. This is really a great place to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, yet be close to some of the attractions of the area.
