Came up to Cambria to celebrate our anniversary and we really love this place. Super clean and recently remodeled. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We had the upstairs double queen ocean view room (#219) which featured a very comfy sofa by the window that looked out into the ocean. The room had cable TV, a faux fireplace/heater that was sufficient to keep us warm while having the window cracked open a little so we can hear the ocean waves at night.

Room had Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and a fridge with a decent size freezer section that kept our blue ice frozen. Love the fact that you don't need to walk up any stairs to reach the upstairs units because of how the parking area is sloped. The breakfast room is not open but, they do offer an egg wrap/burrito that can be delivered to your room for $5 per person. It was piping hot and very filling which we appreciated.

They offer a squeegee and towels for cleaning your car windows too.

I think we found our new favorite place to stay in Cambria!

This was our first visit to Sand Pebbles Inn on Moonstone Beach Drive. I have to say that it's a decent place to spend a few days. Across the street from the water, it's very quiet and no more expensive than the other hotels on the Drive. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. Breakfast is included; it amounts to breakfast burritos and orange juice. The burritos were good and filling. The room was clean, the shower had good water pressure and there were no stray hairs in the sink or mold on the grout. A small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker are provided. My only complaint would be that the rooms are small. My wife uses an electric wheelchair and trying to find an out of the way place to park it was a challenge. Our room had an electric fireplace and it gave off enough heat to keep the temperature comfortable. We didn't hear any noise from either side of our room, which made it that much more enjoyable, The rooms are not cleaned every day, but fresh towels are provided upon request. The mattress was firm enough that it reminded me of home. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

We have stayed here several times in the past, previously with our kids but this time just the two of us. We love the location on Moonstone Beach and the rooms are well appointed with thoughtful touches like a lighted magnifying makeup mirror and a shower stool should you need it. We did miss the old pre-Covid style of breakfast and in particular the cinnamon scones they used to serve., The new breakfast was good, too, but limited choices are available compared to what they used to offer. Still would stay here again when visiting Cambria.

We were so lucky to get a room here. The parking is easy ( and what hotels go the extra mile to have window cleaners, rags and a trash receptical for you?).
Lupe was the perfect hospitality person at the front desk. She always had a smile and a kind word. The rooms were spotless and nicely decorated. We had a glimpse of the ocean and could hear it if we opened our window. We could not hear any neighbors inside or outside our room.
Too many breakfast choices in the morning and the kitchen gal was as sweet as Lupe. Again, spotless.
The location is perfect for beach walks and walking to the 2 restaurants nearby.
The last perk, our sunset perch to celebrate Sunset Service with wine and cheese. We will be back and invite more friends to join us.

Stayed here for one night in September 2021. I have to say that although I found the room to be nice and well appointed, those positives were outweighed by the negatives. First of all, the woman at the front desk was not the most pleasant person and borderline condescending. Found her to be unwelcoming in her approach to our check in and almost made it seem like we were bothering her. We were told breakfast was included in our room stay. We were not aware that breakfast would be a bag style order delivered to the room. However, under the circumstances, this would have been fine. Although other hotels we stayed at were offering full breakfasts. The breakfast card gave a limited number of choices which included breakfast sandwiches and a parfait. We chose to order a few items since a normal breakfast would include other choices such as fruit or yogurt, etc. Since those items weren't offered, we ordered an additional sandwich and a parfait. The food was delivered to the room at the time we asked. It was in a paper bag and was nothing more than an egg and ham sandwich. I am not a picky eater, but the sandwich was inedible. Upon my arrival home, I noticed that my credit card was charged an extra $10 above the room rate without my knowledge. I called the hotel to question the charge and after looking into it, I was told that the $10 charge was for the additional breakfast items that I ordered (the parfait and additional sandwich). I never saw that there would be an additional charge for ordering more than 1 item. I guess they just expected you to eat a Bagged ham and cheese sandwich with nothing else? The person I spoke with told me that the menu card stated that there would be an additional charge for extra items, but I did not see it, nor did the front desk person who made it VERY clear that our breakfast card must be on the door by 7pm if we wanted breakfast tell us that we could only order one item per person. She did however make it clear that if we lost one of the room keys we would be charged a fee! I told the hotel staff that I was not very happy about the additional charge for a parfait and that the food was basically inedible. I am completely aware of the current limitations due to COVID, but this was by far the worst and most limited breakfast I had during my travels along the California coast. I found the $10 charge to be quite petty given the fact that they are not offering a full breakfast and limiting you to one item per person.
I have read, other reviews regarding the poor attitude of the front desk staff and I have to say that I cannot disagree with them. Not sure I would stay here again as it is apparent that they have not gotten the message about how to treat guests/customers. After all, this is a hospitality establishment.

Had a lovely two night stay here in a front top floor room with a beautiful full sea view. The room was large and clean with microwave, fridge and coffee maker and a settee at the window to take full advantage of the view. No room cleaning while we were here but anything we needed we were to ask reception. The hotel was very quiet and we slept well.
All the staff we met were friendly and efficient. No problems at check in and everything explained well.
Breakfast was from a short menu which you ordered to arrive at a set time the following morning, the evening before to be delivered to your room, we had the egg and ham wrap which was nice, hot and filling.
Parking was easy and cloths were left for cleaning windscreens etc. There is a little garden area with chairs at the front.
Excellent location right across from the beach and boardwalk.
Would highly recommend this hotel, we had a great stay.

I stayed with my dog in room 114 - king room with partial ocean view. The room was perfect: modern, clean, big. It does not share walls with any other rooms, so it's quiet. At night all I could hear were crickets and the ocean- lovely. There is nice a fireplace/ heater. The bed was super comfy. The jacuzzi bathtub was huge and plenty of very hot water. Only cons: the coffee maker didn't work properly, the fridge was not very cold, and the ocean view is in a corner right near the side entrance to the building, so there is a bit of traffic going past the window, including a worker who was climbing a ladder and doing work right over my head, but this was 11am on a Thursday, so when else was he going to do it? There is a wooden boardwalk directly across from the hotel that you can walk a mile along the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach, but they are allowed on the boardwalk. You can't leave your dog in the room unattended, which is pretty standard for hotels. The lovely front desk attendant, Kathleen, gave me a list of restaurants and noted which ones were dog-friendly. We did a lot of takeout due to COVID and the weather. Overall a wonderful stay and beautiful location.

Location is great, just in front of the ocean and the hotel is really nice, clean and well run. Breakfast was various and good and the room was very clean, nice and cozy. Just a few tips to get the “fifth” star (at least on my opinion): Having a few umbrellas available for guests, place more tables in the breakfast area and locate a smoking area with an ashtray in the premises of the structure (eventually in the parking lot...it’s not nice to see cigarette’s butts around).

We had an excellent night stop over here and enjoyed everything about it. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely seaside theme. The location is very peaceful and there’s a lovely boardwalk opposite for a stroll along moonstone beach. We drove to Main Street to get something to eat and it was super convenient with lots of choice. The included breakfast was an added bonus and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Thanks Sand Pebbles Inn!

Although the view is nice, the traffic of the street is annoying. Nights are relatively quiet, but even a car or two in the middle of the night is annoying considering the room rate.
The hotel itself, as well as the staff could not be nicer. But, if you want an oceanfront room, simply be aware of the street noice.

Don't know direction, but it was a patio overlooking the ocean and Moonstone Blvd. It was at the ocean end of the building. Patio has a table,2 chairs and a face around it.

The water is very inviting, but very cold so generally most people aren't interested in swimming. Water activities like surfing and kayaking are prevalent along this part of the coast...but even the surfers wear wetsuits.
