The concierge was excellent Marlene and Silvia were helpful and always accessible. They our made the trip great. My grandson got to do the activities he wanted with the help of Marlene and Silva. The resort was beautiful and the food was so good.

Sensatori…where do I begin! There’s so much! Let’s start off with me not knowing this was a Nickelodeon hotel until I called to confirm the reservation I booked. No issues at that time. It’s fine - was assured that there’s lots of adult fun. After getting there, found out that the resort is transitioning to all Nickelodeon and planning on moving the adults/Sensatori section to another property, so all of the adult only amenities are closed. Some of the people who work there will tell you it will open back up in a week…or a month (depending on who you speak to), but it was confirmed to me by a manager that they don’t know when or IF it will open back up before the transition. People should know that when booking! If I would have known that, I wouldn’t have stayed there, when there are tons of adults only/resorts with more adult only activities in the area. Customer service on the phone, before my actual trip, wasn’t great. Every time I called, I was told information that differed from the last information I received. Karisma REALLY needs to work on their messaging and make sure it’s CONSISTENT. With it being an all inclusive resort, I called to ask how much it would be to add another party to my room, explained that I just wanted a quote so I can tell the person how much it would be (so they could ultimately decide if they want to come or not), but the person I spoke to amended my reservation to add another person to my room, and added another room. It took TWO phone calls with FIVE different people to get it resolved. Day of arrival - I had booked my shuttle from the airport to the hotel with my reservation, but it is handled by a third party, Nexus Tours. Nexus Tours did not have my reservation. I ended up spending ADDITIONAL money on a taxi. Note, you have to watch out for shady characters at the airport. Ready to take you wherever you want yo go, but charging 2-3x what authorized taxi service guys are charging. You can usually tell who they are because they run up to you and are quick to grab your luggage and take you to their cars. Check-in was fairly easy, but they didn’t give me the bracelet for Sensatori. Mind you, Sensatori is supposed to be a different resort within the Nickelodeon hotel, but there is no separation of activities, rooms, restaurants, etc. I only realized this when my friends that I came to meet asked me where my bracelet was when we were at our arrival night dinner. When I went to concierge the morning after arrival to get it, a woman at concierge lied and said I didn’t need it because only Nickelodeon hotel guests did. Found this to be not true, but I let it go because not having it didn’t keep me from doing what I wanted to do on/around the property. I had a Premium/Luxury room that supposedly came with champagne champagne, priorIty check-in and other amenities at arrival. Got none of that! Service is okay if you come across butlers, waiters, etc. that really like the job and make it a personal mission to go above and beyond. Other than that, you’re on your own! The resort puts on an image of quick customer service and customer service first, but things weren’t addressed until I brought them to the few workers I made “friends” with. Room service took forever! Tried it once and decided to just leave it alone. The menu is extremely basic. Can’t get restaurant food to go or delivered to room, but found a way around that with a waiter who was beyond amazing ;-) My room service menu wasn’t on the TV (was supposed to be a channel with the full service menu and other amenities). I asked for a room service menu to be dropped off around 8am one morning. Never came. Finally was able to download the app. Called from there. No answer. When I called from the room, initial call was answered. Was told 20 minutes. Food came over an hour later and was wrong/missing items. Things on the menu did not come as listed - ordered a breakfast sandwich and most of the items were received, but separate. Had to figure out what was what and put it together ourselves. After all of that, it didn’t even taste good! The Karisma app for this resort is not updated. Workers kept telling me to refer to the app, but every time I did and asked about something on it, was told it was outdated. Went to the front desk and asked for a member of management to air my grievances. Was directed to the main concierge, who said she’d connect to management after I gave her a report of my issues. I really was hesitant to do that because I didn’t want to repeat myself about these things AGAIN, and probably would have to once again when I spoke to management. She told me she couldn’t find any “reports” of my complaints and I told her it’s because anytime I asked for assistance, someone said they’d handle it and never did. They weren’t taking “reports.” She went on to tell me the resort bracelet was only for Nickolodeon hotel side people - not true - and that they couldn’t help me get a refund for the shuttle they did not arrange, but I paid them for. I had to call the main Karisma number to get a refund for it. There were a couple of other issues with my room I wanted to try to get resolved during that visit, but after trying to get through the shuttle and bracelet mess, I was over it (the conversation and process was exhausting). I went back to wanting to speak to management after all of this and it seemed like she was purposely avoiding it. I was totally over it. Anytime you need something, they refer you to your “personal concierge” and they’re really not helpful at all. What you get from the service is different depending on which one you speak to. None of them have any real info, they just keep trying to sell you on their third party tour company, Nexus. All of them are from the DR, but don’t know what to do/where to go in the DR, outside of this tour company?! Okay. Housekeeping - saw it come for everyone around me daily, but I had to call. Each time they came, I had one less piece of bed linen. I started writing this review on day three and only had a sheet. I had 2 more days there and wondered what I’d be left with…I was able to hold on to the single sheet. I asked for the rest of the bed linen to be added back. Do you think it was?! The one day they decided to come without me calling, it was when I was in the pool in front of my swim up room. Patio door was open, it was obvious we were using the patio (clothes, drinks and music speaker on the patio), but the housekeeper closed it and locked me out! Saw a few housekeeping workers walk by and all of a sudden no one knows how to get me back in my room. Seriously?! FINALLY found someone to call someone to open it. After she told me someone is coming, she saw one of the people I was with and asked them to try to open the patio door. SERIOUSLY?! I just told you it was locked! If it was open, I would be IN the room. You don’t think I tried that?! They advertise a lot of onsite activities that are not available. The water activities can’t happen because of the ocean conditions (water to rough/dirty) and because they don’t have the proper instructors/guides, but OF COURSE you don’t find that out until you try to schedule something. Thank goodness you can schedule offsite excursions, if that’s your thing. Taking the COVID test is a mess. They make an appointment and don’t see you for at least an hour after the scheduled appointment time. Took my email and phone information to send me my results only to send our whole group’s results to one person. Like…what?! This is health info! Should be sent to the person who it belongs to ONLY! Check-out is a complete mess. Someone will be helping you, then stop to help someone else. Then all of a sudden, 5 people are figuring out how to check out one person, while a line is forming. They call a taxi for you, don’t tell you it’s arrived. Was in the lobby waiting and 15 minutes past the time the taxi was supposed to arrive, I inquired about it only to be told that it was outside. I saw the car pull up while in the lobby. Was outside at least 20 minutes and no one tells us?! Didn’t take the initiative to put our bags into the taxi until they were prompted. This place is A HOT MESS. Right before checkout, spoke to a manager (after having to be pretty pushy with a few people who kept trying to direct me to concierge instead). Was the RECEPTION manager, who has to write a report that goes to the general manager who is “not around.” Told me I’d here from them in 2-3 days. I left 4 days ago and have heard nothing. I’ve never had an experience this bad at a resort. Would NEVER come here again and if I ever hear of anyone I know considering coming here, will do my best to talk them out of it. If it wasn’t for the few waiters and butlers I met and made friends with, plus the fact that I just will make fun regardless of the place and situation, this visit would have been completely horrible instead of just bad. I paid for a premium/luxury room that supposedly came with an elevated level of service. Please. Sensatori/Nickelodeon should be running me some money back ASAP! I’m pissed that I spent my money on this place.

We had a Sweet 16 private event at the Sensatori Punta Cana on June 12th. We had planned for some time but did not know exactly what to expect. Upon arriving at Sensatori on the Friday, we met with our event coordinator Nathalia. Nathalia was beyond welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. She introduced us to our butler, Ysmaury, who was equally the same. Both Nathalia and Ysmaury treated us like royalty! The Saturday night was our twin girls’ Sweet 16 and I was brought to tears by the attention to detail, perfect coordination and above all flawless execution. Nathalia had nailed it! I would also like to recognize Caribe Photos. Our photographer Ricardo, videographer Saul, and the manager Ledy were patient, talented and overall just awesome. If you are planning an event minus all the stress, then you should definitely reach out to Nathalia ad her team at the Sensatori. They are like the James Bond of event planning! Kudos to Nathalia and Ysmaury for fulfilling our every want and need from the moment we touched down at Sensatori. Sensatori is one of the best resorts I have stayed at and I have stayed at quite a few resorts. The resort itself, food, service, amenities and people make this resort most outstanding. A million thanks again to Nathalia, Ysmaury and Sensatori for making our stay and Sweet 16 celebration such a perfect memory!

Stayed here May 2021. Even with Covid, we thought the hotel was run very efficiently and very safe. quick check in, good cleaning and high standards. staff always in face masks. Disappointed in the number of restaurant options, if more were open it would spread the customers around and be less busy at the same times. The food was still great (stayed in 2018 and 2019) though its very awkward for someone to serve you the buffet. Sad it wont be Sensatori anymore and everything is now focused on Nickelodeon. The entertainment in the evenings was good, lots of music and dancing to see after dinner. Our stay was ruined by the amount of Dominicans they let in on weekends - rude, loud and irritating. No matter where you are or what you are doing, they feel the need to come in and take over rather than wait their turn. Usually a great hotel, would recommend staying here, great food, great facilities but this time a bit of a let down as it will be changing soon. interesting to see.

We traveled here and stayed 10 days with another couple. We both are Prestige members and wanted to stay true to the BRAND and book our stay with them. We booked an “adults only” swim up suites in Bldg 9. The first thing you need to understand there is no separation of Sensatori and Nickelodeon. ALL areas have families with children including our swim up suite area. There is an adults only seating area in Sugarcane, which we were told we could not sit in for several days, but it too had families seated there towards the end of our stay. There was an adult restaurant Kitchen 23 however it was not open due to occupancy. We rotated our meals, as everyone does, but only had one adult dining experience and that was on the beach which was very nice. On our second night there we ate at Verdellos and were very excited since we had heard good things about it. Our entire time there was spent watching, and listening to, a family who were running around the restaurant, climbing on things, screaming and playing hide-n-seek in the entire restaurant (I’m talking about an adult man and 2 kids). We ate our meal and left and they were still carrying on and to our surprise not ONE employee said a word to them. Be aware that this resort is combined with Nickelodeon so just because you book adult accommodations you’re not getting anything else remotely adult. On the weekends it gets VERY crowded in all areas since the resort is open to the general public. We are all parents and grandparents so we are not kid haters. We do book adult resorts unless we are traveling with our families and would not have chosen this one had we known everything that was to come. Great place for families. Our butler, Jose, was beyond exceptional and went above and beyond. We will not be returning and feel as Prestige members we were misled. Don’t say you have adult areas when you do not. I have written to Karisma and Exotic but have received no reply so no need to tell me to contact customer service.
