It was our first backpacker experience but it was a nightmare! The place was not well maintained, not even par to cleanliness. I get the idea of backpackers, but it should be at least clean bed sheets, mattress, fan, and the overall sleeping area. Food is okay and parking space is spacious. Common area is okay but bean bags looks it has been there for ages. Could imagine all the sweat, puke and what not. Please get this place at least once a month of general cleaning. We get the vibe but will never stay here even for a night!
I stayed at the circle hostel for a night. I was amazed with its cleanliness and comfort. But more than that, I enjoyed how they embody the "no strangers" environment. Spending a night with them opened doors for new frienship! It was a liberating and a one of a kind experience! The place is also peaceful and secured.
The common area is where I stayed the night. I found the hammocks to be uncomfortable to sleep in and there’s no way I’ll be able to catch some zzz’s in those. Sleeping in bean bags were so comfy I guess I had the best sleep so far. Although I woke up twice because of the other guests, it was still a good night’s sleep after all. There were mosquitoes dancing around, but the electric fans made my life much easier. The whole hostel was painted with different messages and words that reflect mostly about life. Reading each of the poems was like getting to know different persons without meeting them personally. I may not have talked to them or know their stories, but what I know is that they’ve sat in the same spot as I did, and they have shared with me their sentiments on life. I feel so at home just to be here.…
For the price the place was really good and we really loved sleeping in the hammocks they are well kept, ate and kuya caretaker was very helpful and friendly, just approach them if you need anything, the place itself was good we didnt really stay much in the hostel we just slept and left our bags, there are lockers and its quite spacious good for a medium sized bag, theres wifi but its a hit or miss, bathrooms are okay and clean, and its close to some places to eat which is good, just a few minutes to the beach the only issue i had was with the other guest's i do hope ate and kuya and even the management implement a strict compliance with clean as you go and lights off at early morning, there were some guest who were drunk and was noisy and obnoxious at early morning and when we woke up the kitchen was a mess, but overall will go back again cause its the BEST budget hotel and what we really after is the beach and ambience…
Me and my gf went here over the weekend and the place was awesome. A very chill and slow place. Excellent when you just wanna relax, meet random people. It's not really a place to go for wild parties and all that.
I stayed in this hostel in October 2016 and though I’ve yet to write a review, will hold fond memories of this place for eternity. We arrived here as part of the Tribes and Treks tour organised by Make A Difference (MAD) Travel that we booked through STA Travel in the UK. The hostel provided a friendly and colourful place to rest our heads near the beautiful Zambales beach. Go to Mommy Phoebe’s next door to grab a milkshake or smoothie!
Firstly, this is definitely one of the more quirkier hostels i've stayed in. It has a really fun hippy, communal vibe that makes you feel like your in the middle of the jungle in a treehouse. There are lots of hammocks to lounge in and the location is a 3min walk to the beach where you can surf. In terms of the social element, this hostel nails it as it is super welcoming. The downfalls however are pretty big. You will not sleep. There arn't necessarily 'walls' and no noise restrictions so sleeping does not happen. The other is that the only powerpoints are in the main open area which is not super close to the beds. The beds themselves feel like they could snap at any moment, but the mattresses are comfortable enough and they provide mosquito nets which is a plus. Perfect hostel for more of the camper type.…
I've been here for the second time and this time, I've tried the accommodation on the bunk beds. It seems that the beds are very cramped up but is still comfortable to sleep with. Upon check-in, you will be provided with a blanket and bed sheets. The sleeping place is great but you need to plan ahead on where to stay since some of the beds aren't reached by the fans. Also, checking-in on the bunk beds would mean that you need to go up the quarters before taking your things, and there isn't enough "sampayan" upstairs. However, it is indeed more comfortable to sleep on a bed rather than a hammock. By the way, it costs 100php more to be on a bunk bed rather than on a hammock, but if sleep-comfort is what you after without minding to get things to and fro upstairs, this would be ideal. The staff there are still hospitable, and they treated me like I'm a resident there. They frequently chatted with me and also greeted me "Happy Birthday" since I spend my birthday there. Truly is a great budget surfing spot near the metro!…
A great place to stay.ambiance is good.lots of places to eat and people in the vicinity are very friendly.waves are bigger since its already rainy day.good for pro surfers.accomodation in circle hostel will surely suit your backpacker budget.i took the hammock in circle hostel and it was dope! Surfing board rent cost 200 for short boards.not sure for long boards.surfing instructors are als available depending on the waves.just make sure you know how to surf as the waves are bigger compared in baler.in short its not for beginners.
As the title suggest, this place is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Located at just around 3-4 hours from the metro, I was able to relax and find peace with my stay here. I went as a solo traveler and the environment and ambiance is so welcoming. Truly is one of the great places to stay as a solo traveler. The hammock needs some cleaning indeed, but I'm not sure about the bunk beds because I wasn't able to sleep in those. The food is budget friendly as there are several stalls beside the hostel. The beach vibes is good since it is not really that crowded, just don't expect white sand on this part of Zambales. :)
