Stayed for five nights with a group of ten friends. We had a great time using the amenities and activities within the property. Victor was an excellent host and helped us set up multiple dinners for our large group as well as an offsite cruise. Food 8/10 some dinner service took a while in restaurants.
I have traveled the world and stayed at many all-inclusives/resorts...DO NOT spend your money here!!! I booked 8 nights, and it is soooo bad I am moving to another resort tomorrow, I cant take it any longer. Service- 1 star. I am staying at the Colonial, which appears to be the “lowest”/cheaper level of the Majestic system. Let me tell you, that’s exactly how you are treated. Most employees act as inconvenienced for you asking them to do their job, like bring you a beverage. You have to ask 4 different people at least to get what you need. Who doesn’t have half and half for coffee?! They only have Le he. However, when you go to the Mirage side, they have it. Room service scolded my husband for coffee grinds spilling out of the cheap packs they give you...really?! At check-in, the clerk gave us a room with 2 double beds?! Really?! I’m here with my husband. He didn’t even ask/let us know in advance. I go back up to let him know we need a king, and he tried to convince me for 20 min that they can put the double beds together and it’s like a king?! Really? We had to sleep with a big seam the first night. The 2nd day, they switched us into a room with a king bed but with no A/C, and a phone and fridge that didn’t work. The room description stated I would get a indoor and outdoor hot tub(it’s really a bathtub with jets), and a bottle whiskey and rum upon arrival. I had 2 double beds and one indoor bathtub. I showed them the description and they blamed the 3rd party booking company for misrepresenting. Don’t you give them the info? I demanded my rum, and they sent a make employee up to deliver. He knocked 2 times, but we didn’t answer as we were in the tub. He decided to let himself in, and my husband said “we are in the tub!” He didn’t cate, he walked right to the middle of our room and stared at me while I was naked, waiving the bottle as if to say “where do you want this”? Really??!!! He should have left immediately, instead of ogling me while naked. I told him “please leave!” and he finally turned around and left. No apology or anything on his end. I would have immediately turned around and left! Rooms-1star. I am actually grossed out staying in these rooms. Filthy mirror when we moved to new room, dirty grout, mold under the lawn chairs outside of our swim up suite, hard water stains on the shower and sink fixtures, dirty box spring. It’s just gross. I am embarrassed that our friends booked here because of us...she was using a beach chair on her balcony, and she fell through because it was dry rot! Food-1 star. There are really only 2 restaurants, and they both serve the same meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I asked for orange juice today and they brought me Tang…
When we got to the DR we found out that the colonial was closed and were placed in Elegance. They were extremely short staffed and we didn't receive the drink/wait service we were expecting. We constantly had to get our own drinks at the bar and often times had to flag people down to get something we needed. The staff were constantly running around and were extremely busy. We love the people in the DR for their hospitality and genuine good nature, but we weren't able to experience that this time around since they never had 2 seconds to talk. The beach was amazing and the food was ok. Love the DR, but will be staying at a different resort next time around.
As the world 🌎 slowly comes out of a pandemic, many people seek a place to go to a vacation. The majestic colonial is the one to go to. Bi and tri lingual staff, great restaurants, spacious rooms, world class entertainment, and magnificent food. To top it off covid19 test offered free of change to tourists visiting from the United States 🇺🇸. ( this is required to enter the USA from overseas). Tours can be booked at the hotel ( Monico Cooper - Go Majestic) Ms. Marta Guzman the asst manager quickly stepped in to resolve an issue saving my group hundreds of dollars, as an emergency presented itself ( covid19 testing and rapid results). Waiters and cooks assigned to the restaurants are friendly and helpful. 100% we will return to the same Hotel.
Súper Darío was a very personable server. Always made sure we had everything we needed and even mad great convo. Definitely planning on coming back in the very near future. The staff was really friendly always greeted my family and I. There’s activities throughout the day including a plethora of different performances at night in the theater.
