I don't have the words to describe how disappointed we were. We have been to this resort many times in the past. We like the layout and the location. Up to now, we have liked the service. However the service this time was so bad that it would be better if it was non-existent. The employee attitudes are horrendous. Seems like no one wants to work. Not sure what happened here. Was there a change in management ...is the after effects of Covid shutdowns. Not sure but probably will not be back. The only positive employees were the bartenders in the lobby bar. Shoutout to them. Everyone else should go to take a class on service. The experience at the restaurants was so bad it was comical.

I’ve been to many hotels in Punta cana on my 20 day trip and this hotel is amazing. The food is perfect, in separate restaurant only for the premium level guests, there is every day different menu, different food, good quality of the food. In the main buffet restaurant there is also a separate part for the premium guests which is perfect, also it has big jacuzzi. Rooms are very close to the beach, which is awesome, there is a separate bar and place on the beach only for the premium guests, its really worth the money you pay. I paid much more for the premium level at other hotels and I didn’t get anything for the money paid. I wasn’t satisfied with the entertainment in this hotel and i think for the Bingo game they should change the rules and way of playing and they should just write the numbers on the board which is visable to everyone so the persons who dont speak Spanish can also enjoy the game and win the bingo. Bachata could last longer and they should turn the music on trough out the whole lessons so people can enjoy while learning how to dance. With the music everything is much easier. The Staff is very kind in this hotel. There is no entertainment in the night due to covid but others hotel does so that was strange to me. Everything else is perfect. We asked for one more bed in the room, they gave us with no charge so thats very nice.

From the first day to the last this place has been a nightmare! We stayed at the Royal level and there was nothing Royal about it. Anytime we went for breakfast or lunch or dinner they didn’t have enough food. We were told they only had to steaks at one point, there were no fries, no cream cheese, no fruits. At the restaurants you don’t get what you ask for and many times we were told there was not enough food. The spa is falling apart, there is mold in the roof which I stared at for an hour while getting a massage which was below average for the money spent. The service in the Royal club restaurant was not bad the waiters there are friendly. The bartenders at the Royal club beach bar are amazing Willy and Luis make you feel welcomed. That was it, everything else in this place is garbage. There are no COVID precautions here they act like they do but during the weekend Friday and Saturday are so overbooked with locals that you can’t use the regular pool or eat at the buffet. At the buffet they let you in and you have to find a table and wait an hour to get at least a fork. If you want to spend a relax week in Punta Cana find another resort because you will be treated like crap here, starved and disrespected by the staff.

I don’t know where to start with this reviews. If I could give a -5 I would they are not even worth of a 0 at this point. We as a family have stay many times in other Occidentals and this has been the worst experience. Even our family members are part of the time share I can say that is not worth it, a complete scam you can find better prices in Expedia. The Royal level that you pay for is not worth the money because you don’t get a Royal treatment or anything remotely similar. I’m gonna start with the structure of the hotel which is not as important but for information purposes. The buildings are old, the AC does not work in any of the restaurants, you will be sweating through your whole meal. The room has a leak when it rains and the shower has no pressure as well as everything is clogged. We made reservations for the restaurants to find out that they were closed that same night and no one told us that our reservation was canceled. On the weekends it gets flooded with the locals and there is no space to sit anywhere when you go to the buffet. Forget the Covid precautions there is none. When you arrive to the buffet is pure chaos the hostess does not find you a table or sits you anywhere you have to walk in and find a table which is near impossible my mother had to eat standing up. At one point we found a dirty table and asked the waitress if it could be clean and she said that’s not her job for us to find someone else. At the steak restaurant we had a reservation for 6 and they give us a table for 5 and told us to sit how we could. Then when asked to be moved because we didn’t fit the waitress and host began to roll their eyes and talk crap about us which we understand perfectly because we speak Spanish. Until this point we have not complained at all but we had enough. Nothing was done which honestly I didn’t expect anything from anyone here. We were told at check in that we didn’t need a appointment to get our Covid test to return home because we were Royal we also didn’t need to get in line. Once we arrived to get tested there were over 50 people waiting and we were told that it didn’t matter if we were Royal level which this is not what we were told before, now on our last day in this place they call a resort we have spent more than 3 hours trying to get a Covid test and no one seems to help. By the way at every meal we were told they were out of something if it wasn’t potato was cream cheese, ketchup, juice or something which is not very “Royal level” of them. If you want a nice peaceful vacation that you will be treated at least like a normal person with the same respect you give them this is not the place. Punta Cana is a beautiful place with amazing hotels better than this one. We have family members staying at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace and they are having a great time and being treated nice. This resort keeps putting the blame on Covid 19 on everything that goes wrong when customer service has nothing to do with Covid. Worst vacation ever and if this is your only vacation for the year find another resort so you can at least enjoy it. The only pro that we found in this place was the bartender at the Royal Club Bar, Willy, this bartender made us feel like family every day. That’s it!
