Our friend group stayed at the Grand Reserve this past week. We came in having high expectations for everything involved with our stay. We left today feeling mostly let down by our experience. Our rooms were nice and clean, the pools were amazing and the atmosphere of the hotel was great. But the food was not what I would call 5 star quality whatsoever. We consistently left restaurants hungry. When we booked, we were told we would have full access to the other hotels on the resort, only to find out they had all been shut down. So the only restaurants we had access to were the ones at our hotel. This made getting restaurant reservations very hard to do at times. The beach was beautiful, but the local tour guides were a constant harassment and we didn’t stay at the beach because of this. We had the best waiter beside the pool, his name was Ramon Ramirez. He was very good about bringing us drinks quickly and was a pleasure to be around. Personally would not recommend this resort to any of my friends or family. Low quality food was a huge damper on our trip. Our concierge also made our life difficult on multiple occasions and was very pushy with our group about purchasing a time share with Melia, when we turned down the offer he became very hard to get a hold of. To say our time here was stress free, would be a lie. For the money, I would recommend to anyone to look elsewhere right now. This resort might be a lot different when Covid is not in the picture, but right now it is not worth the trip.…

Another great vacation in Punta Cana. We stayed at the Grand Reserve from December 4, 2020 till December 12, 2020 Our room was a 1 bedroom master suite swim-up in building #1 . On our Arrival at the Grand Reserve we were greeted with smiles and as always treated like family, this was first time at the Grand Reserve but our 7th time in Punta Cana, we usually stay at the Paradisus Palma Real. On arrival the entire staff is wearing face-coverings and social distancing is observed. As guests, face-coverings are required at check-out and in common areas, hand sanitizer is readily available. We were glad to see these precautions being observed. Check-In was quick and we were escorted to our room. The room was extremely clean with the remotes being sanitized and in plastic bags. The room was amazing, I’ll include some pictures. The mini-fridge had a few beers, soda and waters. No snacks or full bottle of booze like in the past, I’m guessing it’s COVID related precautions. The patio with access to the swim-out pool in front of our building was great, spacious and clean. Our concierge Zenovia was great and very helpful with anything we needed for the room and with restaurant reservations. The beach is about a 15 minute walk from the resort, but in the front lobby there is a golf cart shuttle that constantly goes back and forth to the beach, its only about a 3 minute ride by the shuttle. The beach is beautiful as always, the drink service on the beach is great! Besides the restaurant on the beach that open at 12:30pm, there isn’t any food available. There is a grill area but it was not open the week we were there. The food in the beach restaurant was great, Fish Tacos were my favorite! We went to the beach in the mornings and headed back to the our swim-out room around 2pm, that was perfect because it was prime sun time around the pool. The hotel was very nice and exquisite. The pool was really big and the sun heats it nicely. The staff was so accommodating and extremely friendly, Reynaldo GPS and Alejandro in specific was very friendly and entertaining by the pool. Would definately recommend taking classes with him. Santo was there to make sure our drinks were always full also. All in all great experience definitely will come back! Really liked Reynaldo GPS
