Myself and a friend visited Gold View as our final stop in the Philippines. Due to coronavirus the hotel was quite quiet and we were made to feel so welcome. Any queries we had they were there to help us and were genuinely interested in our experience in Siquijor. After the holiday I realised my jewellery was not where I thought I left it, in a panic I contacted the hotel and they luckily had found them and were really helpful in getting them to my friend and her to bring them back to me. Would definitely recommend this hotel (first review I’ve ever bothered to write!)

It said "fully-booked" online but we got 4 rooms upon calling the resort. Arrived at 8pm. No receptionist just the guard at the gate. We asked to talk to whoever was in charge of the rooms. She came out in shorts and slippers looking very annoyed and started berating my aunt and cousin assuming we wanted to cut costs. She didn't even let us talk first. She calmed down when we said we don't care about the cost we just want 2 extra beds. That was our welcome. Apparently, we can't ask questions - unless we want to be shouted at. The next day, we found that we were the only guests there. The hotel wasn't fully-booked at all. It was also undermanned. ROOMS Don't poop if someone else is in the room because everyone inside will smell it. No proper room division or ventilation. Expect to wake up uncomfortable in the middle of the night because the airconditioner has turned itself off - again. Don't expect cable tv or wifi. Not all rooms have cable. Wifi is almost non-existent at <20 kbps/min. BEACH Swim at your own risk. The beach is littered with sea urchins. You can't take a step without stepping on one. I saw a cow swimming at the beach though. That was new. Hmm.. Swimming with floating cow poop? No, thanks. POOL Not as big as I thought. Don't mistake the blue tennis court for a second pool. Apparently, I did.

Negatives: 1.No or pooooorrr internet!!! 2. No cable tv. If there is no internet, at least they could give us tv cable..Reason: No load for prepaid???? 3. A/C is only 3/4 hpower? Very hot especially summertime dude!!! 4. Be sure you have globe as your provider... otherwise hahaaha!!! 5. Make sure your body waste doesnt smell bad( aka poo...stool...fecal material)...why? because the toilet is not totally separated from the rest of the room. Not in a compartment... 6. The beach is desserted....man they dont put some sort of shades near the beach so we could hang out. 7. Not well maintained resort...xpt for the tennis court maybe which i didnt see people playing... how about basketball or billiard table instead? 8. security guard is only at night???? 9. No tvs in the bar or any sort of recreation.... 10. In other words its quiet( maybe nice to some) BUT BORING PLACE!!!! Positives: 1. Friendly owner. 2. Nice staff..

The staff is very friendly and tries to help where they can. But rooms are a bit old and for a Standart room you might have a flatscreen (if upgraded) but no access to TV. They have a ant/bug problem, as I have so many stiches there, which I had no where else. Every morning I woke up with more stiches/ bites even though I had the aircon on and no mosquito to be seen. Dinner in the restaurant was ok and the scooter rental fair.

We stayed three nights at the Gold View Beach resort. We were happy with our stay because the staff was exceptional and friendly to us! It’s right on the beach and awesome sunsets! Pool is large and impressive. Restaurant area is large with views of the pool and also some outside tables with views of the beach. We agreed with the prior reviews about slow service for the food. Our food was served cold on several occasions and really needs to be improved. But the food prices were reasonable. We were there over Valentine’s Day and excited when we were told they were going to have a live band for a special Valentines evening dinner! So we were looking forward to some soft romantic Valentine’s Day songs! Instead the band proceeded play disco type music all night without one love song the entire evening. It was obvious they lost the interest of the dinner guests quickly Who were expecting something different. Rooms are also very basic not even any furniture to put your suitcase on. But again for the price we felt it was reasonable. Motorcycle rentals were also available for only 350 pesos for the entire day which we would recommend to take advantage of.

We loved our stay here. The staff are so nice and couldn’t help us enough. They definitely made us feel at home and were a pleasure to be around. The hotel is a little bit away from other restaurants/bars but only 10 mins on a bike! (Not as far as some as said). The beach is really nice and although you can’t really swim in the sea, at low tide there’s a lot of rock pools with a ton of wildlife. The view and the sunsets were phenomenal! The pool is huge and well kept. The whole hotel Is very clean and looked after. The air con was good enough and didn’t give us scratchy throats like others have done. I think it’s great value for money here and in a nice quiet area. The staff arranged us a tricycle driver named junior who I cannot recommend enough - he was so lovely and ended up taking us to and from most places. The restaurant has a big menu and the food was pretty good! Plenty of options for breakfast too. Would happily stay again!

My husband and I arrived at this hotel after a full day of activities and went straight to dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty but still took a Looooooong time for someone to talk to us. My husband actually had to go to the bar and get a drink himself. When food arrived I was super unimpressed. I had pork adobo - a Filipino staple - but it was the worst meal I had in the Philippines. There was just pork fat, no meat. Disgusting. Next morning for brekkie it was no different. Service was extremely slow. The hosts has some really great facilities - pool at ocean front w a bar pool - that was not working! There was a lot of staff around the hotel but perhaps not at the right place - restaurant, kitchen, pool bar. Location is also not very good. Would recommend somewhere else like Coco Grove. Internet also not available in the rooms which by the way are super basic.

Good View is a lovely, delightfully remote hotel in Siquijor. Staff simply couldn’t do enough to help. Genuinely friendly, thoughtful and attentive. The reception area is lovely- beautiful, well maintained landscaping and exceptionally clean. A fantastic large pool - again meticulously maintained. Right on the beach so very good for wandering along for sunset. Some limitations on the menu and as it is so far from other places can be a little tricky. The food we did have was very good. As wonderful as the reception area was - the rooms we stayed in were not. Beds were very comfortable, but the toilet / shower with see through glass and curtains were not very nice. Difficult to share with anyone without being more forcibly up close and personal than you wanted!! I’d definitely return for the warm and wonderful service, but only if different rooms available.

Good , clean place. Spacious room and good bed linen. Aircon not great but adequate. Sparkling clean. A kettle and coffee/ tea making facilities in the room will be a nice extra touch. Looks like the photos but unfortunately has no atmosphere. You cannot swim at the beach but can snorkel at high tide. Lovely pool if you just want to laze around the pool. Staff are friendly but breakfast and dinner service are very slow. Will I go back - probably not.
