We had a lovely stay! The beach front cottages are nice and you can enjoy the lovely view of the beach especially at sunset. You have to go downhill though to reach it from the main entrance. We stayed at the hut at the end of the property. It's really quiet and nice. It's old though and would be nice to get renovated. The beach ia not really for swimming as it is shallow but good enough to stroll around. The staff are really friendly and the food they serve is quite good. However, you really need to have the time as they tale their time cooking it. Better yet, pre-order it so you save some time waiting.

We booked on the the cottages right on the beach and the view and stay was amazing. Cottage was bit of an old beach shack but was very cute, which added to its charm. we could if we wanted to cook our own meals. Was however clean and a top spot

This place is true value for money. We stayed in one of the beach cottages and truly felt like we are on an island. The sunset views are amazing and the sound of the ocean in the evening soothing. There are no aircons in these units, but fitted with a ceiling and floor stand fan. Its a bit far out of town but they offer really cheap and trustworthy scooter rental. The restaurant does take long as the kitchen is run by the 2 ladies who are the receptionist and managers too. Just book your dinner a hour in advance. All in all I will definitely recommend Casa de la Playa if you want some nice peace and quiet.

2 stars come from the room and amazing homemade bread.  We have travelled in Philippines for 2 months, and this place was one of the worst we stayed in. We chose this place to relax at the beach and just do nothing before starting to travel to other places again.  We were expecting a nice white beach with clear waters because of the pictures we saw in their website, but the beach was filled with pieces of coral, rocks, seaweed and glass. Water was brown and looked disgusting. Food and drinks at the restaurant were expencive comparing to other places in Philippines. Also portions were quite small. 1 liter of water cost 45 pesos. Homemade bread and youghurt were really good! There is no small snacks at the restaurant. Coffee was really bad, no matter if it was instant or brewed it tasted like water. One morning we got a decent coffee but other mornings it was just bad.  I think the services at the hotel are a little too pricey, billiard 1h for 150php, massage 400php and yoga class was something around 400-500php, motorbike was 350php for one day. Also laundry was not priced in kilos, but according to things you wanted to get washed.  Although, our room was very nice and spacious! Water pressure was OK (only cold water) and WiFi was working. I can’t recommed this place if you want to swim or do sunbathing, because the beach is not good for that. It's also very far from everything.

We intended to stay at Casa de la Playa for 2 days, but after missing the ferry ended up staying for 3 (I can’t thank the resort driver enough for whisking us from one pier to the next in attempt to catch the other ferry). The food was delicious and varied, the staff very helpful and accomodating, the property eclectic, comfortable and quiet, and the beach was filled with the most beautiful coral and tide pools teaming with life. We rented the scooter from the resort to find waterfalls around the island and just explore. The internet was slow in the rooms, but functional. The water pressure was less than ideal, but again, not a major problem. It was a bit troublesome that they only accepted cash, but again they accommodated us and allowed us to send money back with the driver who took us to an ATM at the pier. I could not recommend this quiet little spot on Siquijor any more.

It's very secluded and away from restaurants and the poblacion but because of that you'll find the most peaceful and refreshing place with the best sunset in Siquijor. Bdw, I got a free upgrade. Thanks!

Before I arrived I was getting worried when I read a bit of negative reviews here. But I think most of them are written by people who are not used to the Philippines yet. Of course this is an old resort, so you can always find some things that are in need of upgrading like the roofing of the porch of Casa Athina and several worn out power outlets or even the website. But since I live in the country since 2 decades, I somehow automatically can ignore things like that and focus on the good stuff: Ocean in front of our cottage, very picturesque landscape, very detailed and creative place that feels more like an artwork than a money generating facility with copy&paste architecture. Staff was doing a great job, despite the owners not being around. The menu was also very creative and lots of good finds, although the Goulash disappointed being on the ketchupy side (hint: its supposed to be based on loads of onions). The kitchen is indeed one of the slowest we have found so far (even for french toast and the like), but if you know that, just get their number and text your orders an hour ahead, keep a stock of snacks in your room and go swimming in the meantime. Who is in a hurry at this kind of place anyway? Just don't try to understand WHY it could be that slow :-) So if you will -like us- condition yourself not to find a 100 percent functional resort, you will enjoy it very much. If you expect perfection at the expense of having less vibes, look for something brand new, which you can get for the same money, especially in Dumaguete.

We stayed in the double height beach villa for a week, the view was amazing and the resort has lots of character. There is no wifi in this building, which is annoying. There is wifi in the restaurant but there is also a vast amount of biting insects, so be prepared. The room is traditional old style, while we were there we had a storm and found out there are several holes in the roof 2 above the bed meaning when we went to bed I slept on the wet side. This room is a fan room, floor fans (so a bit noisy), not the nice ceiling fans. You will need a mosquito net as there are lots of biting insects in this room too. We had 5kg of washing done here and the price was ridiculous, it cost us approx 1000 pesos normally it would cost a tenth of that, so get your washing done elsewhere. You also get power outages this part of the coast, we had two in the week. The food is not very good here and good food outside is hard to find in the area including Lorena too. The best Lorena offers is Chicken Joes and that's not too good, we ate at Kiwi Dive which is on the beach 50m to the east, lovely food, lovely people. Mobile phone coverage is not too good either. The resort is minutes away from Telapos marine sanctuary where you snorkel and see turtles and sharks, amazing, you must go.

What can I say, their food is good, prices are reasonable, and location is fantastic, you'll be hard pressed to find a resort that can compare on the island of siquijor! I got a beach front room, and as the tide came closer in the morning the waves were literally lapping right outside of my door, a once in a lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone! Their rooms were cute and cozy without going over board, I got a room without an aircon but the fans and sea breeze kept everything at a nice temperature. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well, I can't think of anything to complain about, I really enjoyed my trip!

Lovely place in Siquijor Island. We had the pleasure of staying 8 nights in a cute beach front villa with the beautiful ocean right out front the veranda. There’s an amazing coral reef just a short swim out! The villa itself is authentic, rustic and cozy. It’s not a luxurious 5star villa, but a nice hut placed close to nature in stunning surroundings. The decor of the resort is a blend of artistic beach finds and plenty colorful flowers. You feel the history and the love it was built with by the two owners Terry and Emily. The restaurant and food is nice but my top points goes to the lovely and super nice staff the have on the premises. They are so welcoming and friendly. We hope we will get a chance to come back for a visit some other time. Our warmest recommendations for this lovely and laid back resort. ❤️
