Friendly staff and very accommodating. The mint cafe crew are so polite and helpful specially Gerald. They always accommodate free shuttle to and from the airport. Pillows and blanket has a strong odor of downy softener and it’s hard to sleep with smell on it. Also has tiny ants everywhere. Still the best hotel to stay in general santos City

A must stay HOtel in Gensan. One of the cleanest and safe hotel in the city. Just a walking distance to SM Mall of Gensan. They also offer free airport pick up. Staff and crew are all friendly and accomodating. Quick to give service. We so love the ambiance as it feels like our second home whenever we are in the City. Kids loved the pool.

I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Greenleaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. First let me say we used this hotel for a Wedding Venue -- overall it was just an OK experience, Two BIG NEGATIVES -- 1) The food they serve is SMALL quantities. For example, the vegetable dish we ordered, they gave us literally TWO pieces of vegetable each -- a small broccoli and small cauliflower. Totally ridiculous! 2) The seat coverings and tablecloths for the reception were STAINED. This is not a professional look for such a high-priced venue. So I'm deducting a star for these. Summary: It definitely has some positives, and is practically tied with Avior for value. For this hotel, we ended up in an executive room. If you need/want a larger room go with Greenleaf, otherwise stick with Avior. Customer Service: The people were friendly, and brought us extra waters at no cost. Otherwise had limited interaction with anyone. Shower: The shower was very good. Strong pressure (though not as strong as Avior) and mostly consistent temperature. It also has some weird disco lighting on the rain-shower, if you like that sort of thing. The hair dryer was very cheap and cut out after a couple minutes and you'd have to let it cool down before running it again. Food: This is where the Greenleaf shines. They had a LOT of breakfast options -- too many to list. But pretty much anything you wanted you could find it here. Fruits, vegetables, meat, breads, desserts, pancakes, and an egg/omelet station. View: Even in the executive room (which has windows on two walls) the view was just OK. You could see the pool from one window, and buildings from the other. Cleanliness: The style of the room was very modern and fancy, but the flooring and shower were not super clean (like at the Avior). Things were basically stained or scuffed up and feeling old and dated. Beds: The nicest bed we had. It was huge, clean, and comfortable with plenty of pillows. Air Conditioning: The AC came through vents (rather than an AC unit) so the temperature was consistent throughout the room. It was controlled via a panel on the wall (no remote). Pool: The pool was clean and decent sized but nothing special -- it had a kid-side and an adult-side (4 or 5 foot water). Gym: The workout room was surprisingly small for such a large hotel. It had only one weight-machine, one bench, some free-weights, and a few treadmills/ellipticals. Value: The hotel was quite a bit more expensive than Avior but was executive (large size room with double-window view). I'd really call this a tie with Avior, so if you need a bigger room, spend a little more money and go with Greenleaf. Otherwise stick with Avior. Valentine's day disaster. Food was absolutely disgusting. Luke warm soup, plain, tasteless underdressed salad, the main course left me speechless. Raw undercooked cold meat, stone cold vegetables( really, not even warm), luke warm rice.i sent it back 3 times, my wife sent hers back, my friend's wife sent hers back and each time another plate of garbage was put on the table. No refund,no discount. Just sorry. The funny thing was everyone else was sending their food back. What sort of expensive hotel serves such rubbish food??

The room is spacious. The bathroom is clean with hot shower, and basic amenities. The bed is very comfortable with a comforters that provide you with comfort and nice to snuggle with. Food in the restaurant is good-reasonable price too. Highly recommended.

Stayed for a wedding a the hotel , had a great stay . Booked a room for the day before our arrival as we knew that our flight was arriving to Gen San early and we wanted to be checked in early and not just rock up to the hotel expecting our room to be ready at 7am. . All the staff we encountered were friendly & helpfully .

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel a few times. The first time it was excellent and each time after that has been less so. The first time we stayed there we were able to book a King Suite. Never again has that been available. I contacted them as to why only the Deluxe room and the Executive twin rooms were the only ones that are ever available. It turns out that of the 6 room types they have, they only have 4 of the really good rooms in all of the hotel! (Executive Garden Room/Suite, Executive Veranda Room/Suite). We live here in Gensan and I have asked many people, and NOBODY has ever seen those rooms! I finally had to email the hotel and ask why, to see if they were even real. The hotel describes itself as a "4 Star Luxury Hotel", yet only 4 rooms of the 111 rooms at this hotel are really luxury rooms. They said if I wish to book one of the really good rooms I would have to contact them directly way way in advance to see if any are available. Keep in mind the prices of ALL them rooms are definitely "luxury" prices! This last stay, the "secure internet" did not work, no matter how many times I called and got a new password. So no "secure" business could be conducted via my laptop. The "free" internet did work, and the speed was pretty fast (about 12-14 Mbps). So I could browse the internet and watch my programs. The in-room menu is somewhat limited but the food is good, provided they have what you want. As is ALWAYS the case, I always choose something they say the don't have, and this time was no different. In their defense, this has happened to me in just about every restaurant I have ever eaten at in all of the Philippines. Their breakfast buffet is always good, (was better in the past). I remember when this hotel was built. As with everything new in the Philippines, I fear the Greenleaf will rest on it's laurels just to collect a profit while at the same time fading into obscurity until the next "new" thing comes to town.

We stayed here for a few days. Location is great. The hotel is right across the mall. The food is ok. The breakfast buffet is ok, too, nothing special. What I like about this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Everyone, especially the room service cleaning personnel are very nice. Thanks Jeffrey and Eve. What I do not like is how we were made to wait to check in. The front desk crew are not very accommodating. Please consider that there is only one available PAL flight from Manila to GenSan and that arrives around 8am. Your guests would go directly to the hotel. We understand that the check in time is 2pm, we are fine with that. But when we asked to be checked in at 2:10pm, we were told that they are still arranging the list and the rooms are not yet ready. That was not okay.

This hotel is a-ok in facilities but the services of its staff particularly during conferences is very poor, the rides are very slowly arranged and is not organized. The food is always with Tuna. Will appreciate it on a day but to see it every meal say for 5 days is arghhh

Twenty years ago this would be the peak of luxury. The full carpet ed rooms and hallways should have had the carpet removed entirely 19 years ago. They perfume the hallways, and most likely it has to do with the smell of all the mold in the carpets. When you are in the basement you can smell the typical moisture mold smell. The showers barely drain away the water, as does the sink. The interior design is pleasant and still with a clear touch of luxury, and the staff is extremely service minded and helpful. The Hotel in general is still high end.
