If you are looking to find a place like home this is what you need. A warm Filipino hospitality and respect to everyone that arrives. The breakfast have good selection as well. All the staff are so efficient and reliable.
I recently visited the Philippines for 3 weeks. I stayed at three hotels in General Santos (Avior, Green Leaf, and Microtel), and one hotel in Manila (Hilton near the airport). I am posting individual reviews in each hotel, but at the bottom is also a ranking of how each hotel did for each category, from best to worst. As you can see Hilton & Avior scored high and Microtel was bad. Summary: This was BY FAR the worst hotel of the 4. I wouldn't stay here again unless all the other nearby hotels and condos blew up simultaneously. Customer Service: The people were very friendly and accommodating. However, they lost one of my shirts (and a pair of socks) in the laundry and did nothing to take fault, reimburse me, or even apologize. Shower: The shower was flat out HORRIBLE. On the first day there was no hot water (which they tried to fix). The second day, the hot water was sporadic and literally switched from hot to cold every few seconds. The third day, there was limited pressure. And it continued like this the entire time I was there. Food: The breakfast tastes OK, but very limited choices. Basically pre-prepared egg (no live egg station), a single type of soup, a single type of rice (plain), one meat dish (which alternated), one other dish (which alternated), small quantities of fruit, bread, cereal. View: This is the ONE area where the Microtel was very good. They had a decent view out into their parking lot, which they have decorated/landscaped very nicely. Cleanliness: The floor and bathroom were clean. However, the beddings are old and stained. Also, there were tiny little bugs that were making their way into the room from the window-side! Beds: I got a room with two large beds. But as I said above, the beddings are old and stained. Also, the mattresses are not very comfortable. Air Conditioning: The AC unit worked fine and has a remote control. However, it blows directly over the beds which makes it uncomfortable to use while trying to sleep. Other hotels are not arranged like this... Pool: The Microtel has no pool. Gym: The Microtel has no gym. Value: The cost for a room here was close to what it cost at the Avior, and the quality is SO much worse here. AVOID this hotel unless you are getting an amazing deal! Anything past $30 (1,500P) per night is a waste of money for this place. We stayed for a week at Microtel Hotel in GSC last week and I couldn't wait to shout my impression of them. Customer service is their greatest feature. From the security guards through the regular staff at the front desk up to the senior management of the team were all great people to talk to. I give this facility 3 P's: Polite (staff). Professional (service). Picturesque (hotel). Special thanks to Sir John, Ma'am Precy and Ma'am Estela Indus.
When traveling for work in GenSan, I always opt to stay at Microtel. I give special instructions to our executive assistant to book me in Microtel since the hotel happens to be one of the accredited hotels of our Company. I prefer microtel for the ff reasons: - The staffs are attentive, friendly and accommodating - Rooms are spacious and well maintained - Value for Money is felt (accomodation is worth the price) I also stayed at Microtel Gensan in the months of July, Aug, Nov and Dec 2020. Overall, it is my home away from home when in GenSan.
Cleanliness, Staff and Service, Property Conditions. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and most importantly they have a good service of staffs. Loved our stay here. Highly recommend it!
Been 4 years since last stay at Microtel and was a little disappointed this time. Place seemed to be looking tired and a need of refresh. Room was clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Shower pressure fluctuates with one minute good pressure and then a dribble. The breakfast was nothing to get excited about either. Staff were always friendly and helpful. One redeeming feature is the location being close to numerous food outlets including McDonald's, Chow King and 5 min walk to SM mall. Overall stay was pleasant but will probably not return.
- Place is clean, accessible, courteous staffs, very good wifi, and good food! - The location is near the commercial area but inside the hotel, you won't be hearing any noise. - And, one of the very best I like most is the SECURITY DOORS before entering the corridors going to your room. That one, SURPRISED ME!!!!!
Super kind service, clean room, responsible people, ok breakfast, beautiful receptionist, secure room, just add some basic needs like lotion, slippers and water. Common water is a no no. Please provide bottled water
my stay for 2 days is such a comfort. It feels like home. After a tiring business trip. lounging and enjoying their soft bed is rewarding. The linens are clean. The staffs are welcoming. The breakfast is always sumptuous. The location is very convenient as it is only a few meters away from mall and near the means of transportation.
Very Clean, affordable price, wide road easy access to shopping Center and sea foods restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends and members of Families who wants to visit General Santos City. See you soon!....
