When traveling for work in GenSan, I always opt to stay at Microtel. I give special instructions to our executive assistant to book me in Microtel since the hotel happens to be one of the accredited hotels of our Company.
I prefer microtel for the ff reasons:
- The staffs are attentive, friendly and accommodating
- Rooms are spacious and well maintained
- Value for Money is felt (accomodation is worth the price)
I also stayed at Microtel Gensan in the months of July, Aug, Nov and Dec 2020. Overall, it is my home away from home when in GenSan.
I prefer microtel for the ff reasons:

I stayed at this hotel a couple different nights the last week and had a good visit, overall. The price is a bit expensive, the location is very good with an SM and restaurants within walking distance (I wouldn't recommend Cafe Amoree nearby), the staff are friendly and speak English, everything is clean and neat with no bad odors anywhere, the rooms were nice, clean, comfortable but simply decorated, the TV didn't work/connect at all, the A/C in my second room didn't work so we needed to move to another room where it did work, soap, shampoo & a toothbrush were provided but nothing more other than towels, nice, big shower, there was a closet to hang clothes, the complimentary breakfast was good & adequate for foreigners or locals, they did have a simple restaurant with a view items of food and different kinds of beverages (coffee, tea, milkshakes, smoothies, etc.) available, and they have a nice airport shuttle van that is available for about $10/PHP600.

We stayed for a week at Microtel Hotel in GSC last week and I couldn't wait to shout my impression of them. Customer service is their greatest feature. From the security guards through the regular staff at the front desk up to the senior management of the team were all great people to talk to.
I give this facility 3 P's: Polite (staff). Professional (service). Picturesque (hotel).

Really love the bed and the whole room was decently furnished. I had everything I needed for a short term stay. Breakfast needs work as it's pretty plain. Hotel staff are lovely. Water cooler in corridors provides as much hot and cold water you want. A few nearby restaurants make dining out easy.

Stayed here for a night for a certain event in Gensan. I had a comfy stay at the Queen Double Room on my own. I enjoyed the sophisticated ambiance, good scent and perfect temperature of my room. The room was big enough for a family of 4 to 5. The internet speed was fast enough to help me connect to Skype and other sites. I also enjoyed my delicious buffet breakfast in their food outlet. The staff in the resto and front desk were polite and friendly. Further, the location of the hotel was excellent. There were plenty of coffee shops and various restaurants nearby that one can choose from. Although the rooms were kinda costly, but you'll definitely not regret spending that much.

I always stay in Microtel Wyndham General Santos because of its good location and big parking space. It laos has lots of restaurants within the complex. There is a McDonalds and a rose Pharmacy with concvenience store nearby. Walking distance to SM GenSan. Very close to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

The hotel is nicely situated at the center of the City near restaurants. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were practically designed except for the tempered glass headboard which tho it looks pretty is unsafe for those with children.
