We've stayed at the New Dawn Plus several times over the past year and it is very good and consistent. Housekeeping could be a bit more generous with towels and bathmats, and the breakfast can be a bit thin at times, but is generally pretty good. Hot water can be lacking and we rely on our own internet because the hotel WiFi is unreliable.

The room per se was spacious with basic amenities. The staff were accomodating and very nice. Breakfast buffet was on time, however with limited choices but with spacious room. At first, there was only 1 elevator working, but the second one was eventually opened to accommodate the guests.

The room was clean and spacious and room attendant was nicer compared to other staff.
Breakfast buffet was just good. Specially with the native chocolate!
Pandesal was not fresh as it was abit dry and crumbly.
I was booked in your hotel last August 2023 and now January 2024. Yes I will book again in my future stays when in CDO.

Better courtesy from your staff will be great

This was my first trip to CDO. The hotel is about 40 min from the airport. A taxi will will be 800-1000 peso. Check in was fast. The room was very clean and the cable package had over 200 channels. Wifi was ok, good enough for emails and you tube.
Breakfast was a nice buffet with a few new dishes everyday. There is a Jollibee next door and a 7-11 about 5 blocks up the street. The SM mall is about 10 min away via taxi. There is a nice park with benches and trees a 5 min walk away.
The cleaning staff was very nice and eager to make sure you had a clean room.
I would stay here again.

I had a wonderful experience overall. Staff were very accommodating and friendly, making me feel welcomed when I arrived. Rooms were clean and comfortable I had the standard room only though, Internet connection is good, location is very convenient for me. Just ask the staff for directions or assistance they are very helpful.

This is an old hotel, meaning the rooms are large compared to newer hotels. But the airconditioning units are new and cold. Don’t expect much on the breakfast. Not many restaurants nearby. Still a good value hotel for business.

the hotel has everything you need from a hotel.

the bad points it's obviously an old hotel so is starting to look a bit worn and dated.
the doors and windows offer no sound proofing and the main street is noisy. so are the people in the hotel.
wear ear plugs if you sleep light.

The room is okay. It is clean and cozy. They should improve the
wifi connection. That's the only problem that we encounter during our stay. We booked for an executive room with very slow wifi connection. We need to stay on the lobby just to have the strong connection. Very hassle on our side.

The hotel was practical. I think that it is reasonably priced considering the location and facilities it offers. it provides you good value for your money and it is kinda pretty. If I were being nitpicky, the sheets had a pea-sized stain in it. But I can let that go because I think this is a good hotel to stay in. Especially since they also have a nice bar and restaurant on the top floor.
Despite of the good, let me enumerate the buts that I encountered.
1. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO BOOK YOU TO THEIR PARTNER TRANSPORT SERVICE TO THE AIRPORT.
At the time of this writing, their partner transport service is LAX. I don't usually book this transport, but since the hotel recommended it I agreed. I told them to pick me up at 6:30 am, they agreed and I was really prompt. I was at the lobby at 630am but they picked me up 715am na. The front desk officer initially made an excuse that the service was not yet there because it was still picking up other passengers in other hotels. But lo and behold I was the only passenger. And the driver did not even care to help me with my things. So never ever agree that they book you to this transport service. Get Magnum express or Odyssey express instead.
2. THE FRONT DESK OFFICERS WERE NOT VERY PLEASANT AND THEY WERE NOT VERY RELIABLE.
Better personalities and just additional smiles and pleasantness will really improve this aspect. Because you know, a pleasant smile and greeting can bring you a long way. But the unreliability is something that I really did not like. I had to call twice for them to give me hangers, and when I asked them to give my roommates a 9am wake up call they did not call. It is a good thing that my roommates woke up before 9am.
3. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR SECURITY GUARDS. THEY ARE LAZY AND STUPID.
I asked for the bathroom and without looking at me, he pointed his finger to the direction of the bathroom while keeping busy at playing on his phone. And when I could not open the toilet, he snubbed me and said it was open. So I asked him the second time and when he begrudgingly checked he realized that it was closed indeed and used his key to open it. Man, you don't put people like those in the hospitality business. They will be the ones that will give your hotel a bad rep.

Located at the center of Cagayan de Oro with a dominating tallest green building in the city you could not miss it. Problem is it is beside a hospital. expect sirens wailing even at night while you sleep. Rooms are big and clean but you can hear you next door neighbors talking. Elevators are small, security is ok, you need a key card to go to your floor. Receptionist are not so friendly, can't even give you a smile. The roof top bar & restaurant is its strong point though.
Lastly you have to get your breakfast coupon every morning at the receptionist desk and the breakfast is not that great.
over all just a place to lie your head at night while you do you work in the day.

As it is located in the heart of the city, it is unfortunate that some street sounds may be heard, we do offer rooms on higher floors for our light sleepers which can be requested at check in or at time of reservation. They're courteous and nice.Able to explain everything .
I think it is 260, but it is an all you can eat buffet at Cuya J's next door so good value.
Parking is available across d hotel property, for Kuya J and New Dawn Plus guests, it says in clear billboard sign. There are parking spaces in front if you are early but frankly it is always congested being adjacent to a Polyclinic Center ( hospital). Taxis do a U turn on the property to drop passengers at the main entrance.
