We dont have a reservation so we came in as a walk in customer at 9pm. Cant believe the rates! We paid also for the towel but its reimbursable.
We had the matrimonal room (w/ aircon, hot&cold shower with balcony) for only 700 pesos.
Dont expect for a grandous room for this amount. The bed is ok. Tv with cable is just fine. There is a small table to put the laptop in. Comfort room is normal. With two small soap. Toilet flush is working as well as the hot&cold shower.
On d balcony u can see the bay and the bridge.
Its a pretty good room on the purpose of sleep & spending the night.
cons:
- filthy rooms
- filthy toilet / bathroom
- smelly sink in the bathroom
- weird placement of the toilet "exhaust" (a little jalousied window placed in the wall dividing it from the room where the bed is)
- broken window
- no extra electrical sockets to charge your phones and/or other gadgets, you need to unplug the TV set to charge your gadgets, one at a time! And asking the front desk for an extension was useless cause they don't have any.
- filthy bedsheets (you can clearly see large marks of "whatever-it-is" on the sheets)
- most of the staffs are unfriendly and sleeping/eating during their work shifts
- we were later told that this place is where couple's do their "short-time" thinggies, if you know what i mean.
pros:
- cheap price
- the guard was kind and friendly
First, the front desk staff were not courteous. They dont know how to welcome guests and one of them answered, "Oo" (Yes) on a tone I didnt expect. Like she answered a friend of hers.
Second, we had our dinner at their restaurant. We were all tired and to look for another place to eat is really out of the question. We ordered pansit canton, pansit bihon, clubhouse, and sinigang na baboy with rice. The pansit canton was really good I gotta say. For Php150 its reasonable. The 6 of us shared it. The pansit bihon though, was dry. We didnt like it. And then for the sinigang na baboy, it was really disappointing. We paid Php100 for a bowl, which is good for one person including a cup of dry rice. We didnt finish eating it.
Third, the towels they gave us stinks and have stains on it. It was disgusting. The flush doesnt work and the shower is somehow broken. The water is coming out of the handle. I ended up using the dipper amd pale.
For the room, we had the family room with air-conditioning but no hot shower. It was okay. We also had the balcony.
OKAY... its a budget hotel, but it doesnt mean guests should experience what we experienced. I hope the management gets to read this.
Sad to say, but we are not coming back.
OK, there were some minor cons for instance there is no elevator so we had to walk up to the 4th floor where was our room. Wifi is only on the ground floor where you can actually spend the whole day using restaurant tables as your remote office which was pretty cool and we were not the only digital nomads there. Meals in restaurant are tasty but little pricey and you shouldn´t expect to get any convenient advice from the staff.
Expect for those small cons, it was most probably our best accommodation during month of backpacking in the Philippines. Room was clean and decent. They arranged laundry for us. For the first time in the cheapest filipino hostels, I had the chance to watch international channels even in the basic room. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely recommend!
"Request to check or see the room first before they book you. Also request for a room that is close to the stairs esp. if you have heavy luggage."Read full review
"look for another place to stay in, i'm sure there are lots of other places there that can provide better service and cleaner rooms. or try their newer building, their lobby is much promising than the one we stayed in."Read full review
"Always ask to see a room first. If we hadn't done that at the Sunny View, we would have got stuck with a crappy room. Check it out before you decide if you want that room or if you want a better one (if they have anything better)"Read full review
