The Carmen Hotel is on Peñafrancia Avenue in the quiet part of downtown Naga, located just off Naga City's busy central district. It is very accessible for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is a few minutes' walk away from a major mall, a 24-hour convenience store, and 24-hour food establishments, as well notable tourist spots such as the Naga City Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace, the San Francisco Church, and Plaza Quince Martires. Other popular Naga City cultural and dining destinations are a few minutes away via tricycle, taxicle, e-trike, or taxi rides. The Carmen Hotel is the only hotel in Naga City that offers a vantage point to two major Peñafrancia Festival events: the Traslacion and the Fluvial Procession. It lies between Peñafrancia Avenue (the route of the Traslacion procession) and the Naga River (the site of the Fluvial Procession). The Carmen Hotel is the best hotel in Naga to enjoy the Peñafrancia Fiesta held every September.

This was my third stay in Carmen Hotel. I would say, I can still look forward in staying in the hotel once again. Great ambiance, nice staffs. (Willie, I should remember him as he assisted me even though it's late already.) Jorgina, though I did not meet her, she's so nice in taking my reservations over the phone.

just a point to improve: The wi-fi in the third floor is really poor. I stayed in room 305 and I cannot work due to wi-fi failure.

Highly recommended! Truly your home away from home. My son loved the room we stayed in! It was comfy and clean. The staff were all accommodating and friendly. The food at Baba are superb! They have big servings, you get your money's worth. But the smile on my son's face says it all when he was at the pool. I hope you will keep it regularly maintained for family visitors. Kudos!

Respectful crew and child friendly hotel. It's my 3rd stay and will be back for more. The food was okay too. One thing to improve is the internet connection. It was so slow and unstable. But it was probably because it's just after the typhoons. Aside from that, it was a very pleasant experience.

Pros: Staff are nice and helpful

Breakfast buffet is good(Love the choco drink reminds me of baguio batirol)

Etrike service was useful although I was hoping that they have it till 6pm.

Cons: Don't get me wrong Carmen hotel is really clean and fragrant but I'm starting to see little bathroom grouts and stains so a little maintenance perhaps.

Room service charge for baba restaurant should be removed..just a suggestion.

If I were to visit naga I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable rooms, amenities are excellent with very friendly and accommodating staff. The room is very much cozy, smells nice and clean. It is walking distance to downtown Naga, and near schools, banks and churches too. I give 5 stars for its accessibility. The outside design is a modern vintage theme with good lightings! Pricing is just right! Will definitely recommend!

We stay for 2 nights on 2 double bed room. Clean and spacious room with refrigerator and adequate amenities. Staff were courteous and friendly. Swimming pool was clean and adequate. Buffett breakfast was ok, did not have many choices but has omelet station. Relatives stayed for a night visit and we were given significant discount for last minute additional room. Our room was overlooking the city view but was quite hard to see due to structural bars on the windows. Port Mariea is walking distance as well as the San Francisco church. ATM banks and stores were within walking distances. Express Van terminal is tricycle ride away across from the SM but the Bus station is separate.

To say the least our stay was comfortable and very relaxed. A big plus for me was their spacious parking lot. A bit expensive for 4000 a night but got them for their protected parking space. Maraming salamat the carmen.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really wanted to like this hotel due to its prime location (walk to the city), ease of parking, decent food, and the most comfortable beds in Naga (if you weigh less than 50kg then the beds would be a bit on the hard side for you)

However, it is let down by poor internet connection, ant issues, and 1-star hotel management policies. If it were managed by a reputable hotel chain who knows what hospitality is about then customer experience would be more positive. The staff tries hard so it still has potential to be Naga’s top hotel.

I booked two rooms at The Carmen for my wife and her family group to enjoy a shopping trip in Naga; and so the kids could have a swim in the hotel's swimming pool for a treat.

Rooms were comfortable and clean, and everyone got a good night's sleep.
There was a small problem with one of the aircon units leaking, but it was dealt with promptly even at 10pm.

The family thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, which was clean and safe.
Full marks to the pool attendant for doing his job well and telling the kids not to run by the poolside or climb where they shouldn't.. (There are so many places these days where the pool attendant is either sleeping or fiddling with their phone!). All the other staff at the hotel were similarly attentive and service-orientated. Great job !

On check-in, there were no requests for pointless deposits, or dodgy demands to hold onto people's IDs; which was appreciated.

Just one minor gripe: Although each room accommodates 4 people, a breakfast is only provided for 2 people and the other 2 breakfasts are chargeable. This policy needs reviewing, as kids really don't eat very much for breakfast and I feel the room rate should be inclusive of breakfast for all.

Will book here again. Keep up the good work.

Having worked in the wedding industry for some time, I knew exactly what my wedding should be like. That’s why discovering The Carmen Hotel’s Sky Lounge have I thought a ray of sunshine to me. I saw a great potential in this hotel. They are the only hotel in Naga that offers rooftop venue reason why immediately I booked our wedding reception few weeks after exchanging messages with their marketing last year. We booked The Carmen Hotel in October 2017 for our wedding on April 2018. Since I have a background in wedding styling, I took the challenge to DIY our wedding. I tried to make arrangements with the hotel, like a wedding package they can give us to maximize their services, but apparently, it’s not available. Our wedding last April 21, 2018, was the first ever wedding at the Sky Lounge and imagining it that way made me hope that for some reason they would give us special attention, but unfortunately, we began to have concerns with the hotel as soon as we started the whole process.

Having an experience working with various wedding venues in the past I can say I am in a good position to leave an honest to goodness review for this hotel.

Leaving these points here to give soon to be brides a heads up and the hotel a room to grow:

1. We booked the rooftop venue with basic lights and sound inclusion. Didn’t I know basic lights of Carmen Hotel means 4-8 bulbs only for a 241 s/sq venue. From there I knew it won’t be enough to light the whole place so I look for a string lights supplier. It requires me an additional 100 bulbs of string lights for the place to be perfectly lit and additional unexpected expenses for the third party supplier. Apart from the additional expenses that cost us for adding lights, Carmen Hotel charged additional power consumption fee for the lights we added. They also promised to give assistance during the installation but no person from the engineering department was there to help us that night.

2. The sound system was terrible too. I booked the best wedding host in Naga and got the worst audio system from the hotel. Faulty microphones the entire evening. A technician was promised to standby but didn’t see anyone helping our host out.

3. The bridal suite was huge but so freakin hot. Everyone from the room was complaining so we requested for an electric fan. It was shown in most of our wedding photos though. Our coordinators also mentioned that it happens every time they held their preparation at Carmen.

4. The 8 am set up time that we agreed on started at past 10 am. I wasn’t able to maximize my time facilitating the set-up and styling the venue because I had to do my own preparation.

5. Carmen Hotel offers formal event services but does not know about basic table setting. They don’t have charger plates and use paper napkins. Our catering was able to provide the proper table napkin though. Chairs were inserted under the tables when it shouldn't be since the tablecloth will be ruined. Cutleries were not arranged and placed on the table too!

6. Few months before the wedding day, I asked the banquet team of the hotel if their tables are enough; they confirmed that to me though. However, on the day itself, it was not sufficient. Our guests were jammed tightly and seated uncomfortably. Didn’t they know that the package I paid for the florist for the table centerpieces was for the exact number of tables we expected from the hotel.

I used to like the Carmen, it’s bright, smells good and looks clean, my family and relatives used to check in there. But after our wedding, they turned to be just an average hotel to me, with good potential yes, but poor service. Right now, they aren’t ready for formal events like weddings that require attention and proper management.
