Outside of the spectacular view of Mayon Volcano, the staff: Almarth, Rey, May Anne, Dannica, were so warm and very accommodating. We enjoyed the dining experience as the servers, particularly Almarth and Rey were just amazing friendly people. They took genuine time to talk with us and educate us about the beauty of not only Mayon but it's neighboring attractions. The GM, Edel was also accessible and friendly. While hotel itself is somewhat dated, the location and view of Mayon was second to none. Compliments to the chef for the yummy dishes although we missed the chili ice cream. We would not hesitate to return to the hotel in our next visit.
We stayed one night at the Oriental and we liked it! The staff was very friendly and the fire dancers put on a great show. My family had dinner at one of their restaurants and they were able to accommodate all 16 of us. We ordered various dishes and all were delicious! The infinity pool with a view of the Mayon is also very nice. They also have a free shuttle that took us to the airport which is very convenient. I would stay here again next time we come back to Bicol!
2 years ago I stayed here for a fortnight and really enjoyed it.I reccomended it to my brother and stayed there one night.instead of 3 restraunts open there was 1 this restraunt had no beer for 2 days. The evening meal we had was chaotic. My guests had finished their main courses before I started and I had to ask where my meal was.couldnt find wait staff to order desert and drinks and had to go to bar to order. Whole meal took over 2 1/2 hours . Far to few staff. Seems they have a new hotel in the centre of Legazpi.very disappointed.
This hotel is a disappointment now 2 years later Great for the views, close to CBD and airport I admit that cyclones and circumstances have damaged some of the infrastructure and renovations are happening to rooms and public areas. The restaurant badly needs a rethink! - gone are the chefs doing live cooking and all the buzz - just below par offerings, some of it should be hot and is cold and unappealing and some dishes run out and not replenished - no staff checking - you have to tell them. No live music in the restaurant anymore - there used to be. There used to be a large open room near reception with comfortable lounge chairs and a pianist - great for guests to relax - this area is all closed in and unappealing. There is new management here who is making a difference and getting things done - a long slow climb back to its former glory. I can only hope that in 2 years time when I visit again that this Hotel is grand again. Please.…
First of all we booked this hotel thinking that the pictures look appealing and modern. But we were very disappointed when we got there. The first room given to us was a joke, the ceiling was full of molds and the veranda was very dirty. I complained and we were transferred to another room, which was better, but the glass shower door was lacking, making the whole bathroom wet, including the area where the toilet is. When we were about to eat breakfast one morning, we couldn´t find a clean table, and the funny thing was, only four tables were occupied that time, the rest were full of dirty plates left by other guests. And some items at the buffet section were not refilled. It is sad because the place has a potential but the lack of common sense and responsibility among the management and staff is ruining its potential. …
We spent new years eve here at the oriental and yes the experience was superb! Will definitely come back 😍 special mention to my good friend Jayson Medina for the good service given to us while we are staying at the hotel. Thank you all 👍🙏
This month we spent three nights at the Oriental. There are only two things to recommend it, the location and view and Cherry and Weng, the masseuses. While staff was friendly and professional, the facilities have completely gone downhill and management seems in capable of addressing the issues. The Wi-Fi was terrible, the toilet stopped working two or three times and we had to call for repairs, and the executive suite in which we stayed with so poorly designed us to give no privacy to anyone using bathroom sink or shower.
To start with,The hotel looks extravagant.. from the pictures. The location of the hotel was really not ideal. Literally on top of Legazpi, far from everything. The entranceS were very hard to locate, good thing we have waze. Now we understand that a typhoon just hit Bicol Region. You could have at least warned us that your pool is unavailable, and so is half of your hotel. Even the complimentary buffet breakfast that is too pricey weren't that festive like in the pictures, they served corned beef, scrambled eggs (you have to wait for no refills, saggy sausages, reheated pancakes, and desserts and pastries that were lying there for the flies. For the rooms were ok, except for the "sliding" bathroom doors that has no lock, and you can see the person using the toilet. No privacy at all. It was almost a total waste of money if not for the fire dancera that entertained us. We were really sad expecting more from the accomodation. We didn't have enough time to plan because we thought The Oriental Legazpi can provide everything we expected.…
The management of Oriental Hotel Legazpi needs to work on improving the facilities, rooms, and its employees as well. The carpets of the hotel rooms smell very unpleasant and unbearable for us to stay in it. On the other hand, the view from the swimming pool is wonderful. It does not deserve to be rated 4 stars.
If you are looking for a hotel with spacious comfortable rooms and an infinity pool that looks right at volcano Mayon this is your place. This hotel has entertainment every night from live music to fire dancing. The staff is very friendly and friendly and helpful. The cons that I experienced were the hotel transfer was 15 to 20 minutes late arriving to the airport. Then the driver left me waiting inside of the van another 45 minutes before bringing another family and heading to the hotel which was only 10-15 minutes away from the airport. The food was mediocre and extremely overpriced. Buffett items looked old and not freshly replenished. Breakfast was included with the room also a buffet not being replenished and refreshed properly. You had to wait just to receive silverware to eat with after you sat down. Scrambled eggs were finally replenished however they were very cold and the first bite that I took had egg shells in it. Rooms are dated. I had something on the middle of my sheets which was immediately resolved by changing them. The Volcano restaurant by the pool was not in service everything was lying around in pieces. The bed did have some of the most comfortable fluffy pillows that I have ever experienced. Overall an upper scale hotel that is dated with very comfortable rooms. …
