This hotel was one of only a few open following Teal eruption of Jan 2020. Pool was not operational, but room was cleaned daily by very good staff. View to Lake Taal was excellent, even if much of view was ash covered. Close to shops and eateries. Would stay here again.

No water supply it could have been announce thru agoda , lobby smells stinky, over crowded place ,elevators is always full, hotel has only one parking slot inside the building so if your lucky enough to use that slot you cannot use your car to eat outside because it will be given to other guest and you will need to park your car outside for 300 pesos single entry such a stress. Last thing i requested for a big bed and we are given 2 single bed that was put together to look like one big bed so uncomfortable.

The room was big enough for our family of 4. Basic things are included in the room like towels, microwave, thermos, tv, safe box. We had the good view of taal volcano from our room. However, there is no slippers, toiletries, and laundrybag. Parking spaces are not enough for the visitors. During our stay, there is water interruption (no water from the faucet).

We arrived at about 2 am and, though the staff at the reception were acceptably accommodating, we were in for a surprise. The room is NOT as spacious as it looks in the photos. The balcony door cannot be locked. The shower area is separated from the commode by a wall which makes both sides quite tight. But the WORST POINT IS THAT THERE WAS NO WATER! When we arrived, we were told that the whole area had no water but that water would resume at 5 am. Funny how every other establishment nearby (McDonald’s,. 7-eleven) all had running water!) Imagine our surprise when the water service came on at 5, only to disappear again before 6!!! When we phoned the front desk, they brought up two jugs of water! We immediately checked out of the hotel! This hotel advertises itself as a “surprisingly affordable world class accommodation”. The key word is SURPRISE! It’s more like an part-hotel than anything else. If you don’t mind spending most of your stay without a basic necessity, then you can consider staying there. If not, every other place might be better.

Response from Michael B, Public Relations Manager at Destination Hotel
Responded Dec 29, 2019
Hi, Thank you for your candid feedback about your recent stay at our lovely hotel. We're very sorry if we fell short of your expectations during your stay. Regarding the water issue, this problem is way beyond our control. Due to low water levels within Tagaytay, the Tagaytay Water District recently released a water scheduling system for all high rise establishments within Tagaytay, so some local establishments were not a affected. It started last December 23, 2019. (You can still find the schedule posted on their official website for reference.) We are supposed to have water from 10 PM up until 10 AM daily, unfortunately this schedule was not met. The building is receiving only a few minutes of water daily and is not enough to refill our water tanks. We have released an advisory on our official Facebook page about this and even advised our guests during checkin about the current water situation. We tried to compensate by delivering water directly to our guests each and everytime they need it. We do understand the inconvenience the situation brought to our guests, but there are really some things that are way beyond our control and all we could offer is a remedy to make their stay a comfortable one. Again, we're very sorry if your expectations were not met. We still wish you well and may you have a prosperous New Year!

I stayed 11-16 December 2018 and booked through Agoda Pros: 1. Booking was easy 2. Price was fairly reasonable 3. Centrally located (close to restaurants and two shopping malls - Ayala Serin Mall and Fora Mall) 4. Tricycles are easily accessible on the road outside the front entrance 5. Staff was very friendly and accommodating 6. Air-conditioning worked well Cons: 1. No wi-fi in the room. Wi-fi is only available in the lobby. This is very inconvenient. 2. Walls and floors were dingy/yellowish in the bedroom, bathroom, and shower room. Shower head looked like there was a bit of a calcium build-up from hard water (fortunately I had Clorox wipes with me, so I wiped everything down). 3. Bugs - late at night on my first evening I noticed very small bugs in the bathroom around the sink. They could have been mites of some kind. There were about four or five of them, so I killed them and was going to let it go. The next morning, while getting ready to head out, I saw more in the bathroom and on the kitchenette counter. I took all of my belongings off of the counters and put them all on the second bed in the room and left for the day. That evening (second night) I noticed more mites but then I also saw a roach on the up-light that runs behind the headboard. I was horrified! I packed all of my belongings into my suitcase and called the front desk to be moved. No one was there because it was after 10pm, so I left voicemails with management and even went down to the lobby to email anybody that I could from the website. I wasn't able to reach anyone so I pulled the bed away from the headboard in the room and tried to sleep. When I turned the lights on at approximately 3am I saw two more roaches on the floor! I trapped one in a bottle and killed one and sat up the rest of the night. Apparently they had gotten my messages and emails because a hotel staff member came the next morning to move me to another room (which was just down the hall so I worried there would be the same problem, but I didn't see any bugs in that room). 4. More Bugs - wi-fi is only available in the lobby so you tend to spend a good amount of time there checking messages, confirming tour plans, and calling loved ones. This was made difficult because of the amount of flies in the lobby. I've never seen so many flies in one place in my whole life! I mean that literally. They were everywhere - dead on the floor, flying all over the place, perched on every chair cushion...just everywhere! Obviously they recognize that it's a problem because they even had a bug zapper in the corner behind one of the sofas and flies were constantly (about every 10 seconds) flying into it causing it to make that zapping sound. It was very unsettling. I'm not sure if the flies are a chronic problem or if something happened just before I got there to cause them, but they were there all five nights that I was there. I would suggest that they bring in an exterminator to fix that because it's a major turn-off for guests. 5. No one is available at the front desk or even on-call after 10pm. 6. Shower is separate from the toilet room which was strange. 7. There is a 1,000 peso fee that you must pay in cash upon check in. I think it's a cleaning/damage deposit in case you damage the room during your stay. It's refundable at check out so it's not a huge deal, but I just don't remember seeing that written in any of my booking documentation so it caught me off guard. Good thing I had cash on me that day. Overall: It's an okay condo/hotel building. If you're in a bind and need a place to stay, I guess it's fine; but I would not stay there again. The best thing about this place is their staff who are very friendly and helpful. I wish I had gotten their names to mention them specifically, but if any Destination Tagaytay Hotel management reads this review, I would like you to commend your employees that were working while I was there.

If you are just looking for a place to rest, this condotel should be fine. The room we stayed in is clean, no smell but in case you get hungry do not expect a room service as they have none and even if you go outside of the condotel theres not enough option to have a decent meal. You have to pay Php100 for the parking as well which should have been for free. I dont mind paying Php1000 for the deposit though as most hotels would require a deposit. Dont worry they will return the money back to you once you check out.

Got a chance to take the weekend off and book a place near almost everything at the same time far enough from the hustle of the tourist traffik. The place has a nice location with ample parking. Its one of those condo-serviced apartments that is somewhat booking thru Airbnb which some of the units are. You are going to be mixed with unit owners, airbnb and hotel guests. The room was nice, clean and spacious. Problem was the elevator it took way too long and are almost always full. They have a pool at the 3rd floor if you want to brave the cold water. What really is a downside to out stay is that they allow cooking in some rooms but have poor ventilation that we smelled what they are cooking and most often than not smelled of fish and garlic. . .

"My friends and I had a marvelous stay. Wonderful interiors, very good service and excellent room dining too, must recommend this hotel since it is very accessible to the tourist destination and city establishments. Very reasonably priced too and the view from our room to Taal lake was breathtaking. The staffs are warm and friendly. Highly recommended to those who wants to have their Barkada Goals Staycation.

Last minute booking for holy week, as in wednesday night. All the hotels in tagaytay i know are fully booked, so i booked this hotel for my family for 1 night stay on maundy thursday to good friday. so this review will be more relevant for those wishing to stay here during the holy week break. I'll start off with the biggest negative, parking. there are not enough parking spaces for hotel guests, condo residents and another hotel sharing the same building. better arrive early to get a parking spot, however, our car was trapped and we could not get around after we checked in. The staff tried their best to remedy the situation, but just the sheer volume of cars during this time was overwhelming. you could wait as much as an hour or more for parking. check in was a breeze, though I could not foresee why we had to give P1000 deposit (refundable) since there was no mini bar to speak of. anyway, it was returned promptly upon checking out. check out was ok, but we had to wait for an hour for the staff to find the guest who was double parked behind our car. room: clean but it looks more like a studio type condo unit than a hotel room (cityland style). separate shower room from the lavatory. got a room facing the lake. was a plus. facilites: pool is dirty due to the many guests. breakfast was so so. tagaytay has so many breakfast and coffee options, don't bother with the breakfast. no internet in rooms. overall: price is cheap compared to other hotels and was the only one available when we booked. this would not have been in my choices if i'd planned this trip ahead. otherwise, it served its purpose as a bed to sleep on.
