The view alone makes this hotel worth going to. Make sure you take the Lake View otherwise it simply won't be worth it. They don't maintain mountain view rooms very well and the whole reason you're here is probably for the view. Trust me, spend the extra money for the Lake View. Although you can take a five-minute walk from the mountain rooms to check out the view, it's simply not the same as viewing it from your bed or while having coffee on the balcony. Live music in the evening, pianists, singers, etc. Very enjoyable.

The only downside in my experience was the slowest check-in I've ever encountered at a hotel and then only one of two rooms was ready. They said they would bring up the second keycard when the room was ready but had completely forgotten to do so.

We booked the cheapest room available with breakfast included (room view is not important to us).

The room we've got is spacious enough for 2 adults and 1 child. Queen Deluxe to be exact and it consist of 1x queen size bed and 1x single bed and our view is beside Sky Ranch. Though the down side of it is that the room is in the other side of the hotel where you have to take a long walk.

We ate our lunch at Taza a restaurant inside the hotel and my rate for it is 1/5 Star!
We ordered Grilled Turmeric Chicken, Tomahawk Porkchop and Fettucine. Why 1 star because the food is so expensive and it does not have a seasoning its like the food was just boiled and put some garnish then served. Imagine Php 2,600+ for a food and taste nothing is a waste of money! Thankfully the carbonara taste good and you have 1 start for that!

We ate our dinner at Veranda also inside at Hotel and the food compare to Taza is much better and we just spend around Php 1,700+ (ala cart order)

For the pool it would be better to have a heated pool since it is super cold my daughter is chilling too bad she did not enjoy that much. Also the reservation for the pool should be prioritize if you have kids specially early in the morning when the sun is up compare to what we've got 5PM-6PM!

Park and open area is great, kids can run and play all through out.

Basement and cover parking is a plus though it is in the other side of the building but that would be fine.

Old hotels that maintain the opulence and charm, this is where I classify Taal Vista. The others of the same variety are the CJH Manor , Peninsula and Manila Hotel .
Well trained staff , from almost all departments, from top to bottom, if there is one. My 1 BR suite in the mountain wing was nice. Spacious, functional, nice TV and bathroom. Good wifi. No more plastic usage utilising dispensers for water and also for shampoo and body gel . Free mini bar items and 24 hr room services speaks of luxury and sophisticated services. Rooms and major areas seem outdated but they are well maintained, and clean.
Access to Sky Ranch amusement park. Just in front you can cross the street to a Mcdonald fastfood. Hotels offer hefty buffet breakfast at Veranda. Views of Taal lake and volcano are just mere bonuses.

If you are staying just to view the Taal Volcano, it is better to check other hotels first. There are far more cheaper and comfortable hotels at the vicinity.

There is so much history with the place as it has been built since 1939. However, upgrades to make the rooms and facilities better seem to be lagging behind, even with a hefty nightly charge comparable to a five-star hotel. The mountain-view room given to us was a spectacle of a white wall and moldy pipe.

Services are not exceptional either. I booked for an extra bed, but when we got in the room, we still have to call housekeeping to request for the extra amenities. Were the staff waiting for us to call them so they can show us that they are working for tips? Hopefully not.

Finally, to add insult to the injury, I found out from my cousin that senior citizen discount is honored for hotel stays. Had the receptionist asked about this as part of the check in process, I would have felt a little more sympathy for them.

The only consolation would be the breakfast buffet was excellent. They were able to showcase the traditional Filipino food with choices such as longganisa, danggit, and adobo.

Here's to hoping the hotel can have a big improvement soon!

Despite it's reputation, it was completely underwhelming when we arrived. Building insides looks old, rooms are average and nothing on TV except their menu. We booked via 3rd party app, filtered rooms with bath tub and this room was suggested. Sadly no bathtub was present in the room.

Breakfast buffet is average, they serve Filipino breakfast such as corned beef, sausages, eggs, longganisa, danggit, bacon, rice, bread, pancakes, fruits and coffee.

They have BDO atm, Kultura shop and also sell skyranch tickets for your convenience if your planning to go there.

Even though we were disappointed with the hotel itself, it was saved by their view of the Taal lake which we have spent our morning just hanging out after breakfast.

If you're looking for hotels/accommodation with buffet breakfast, I suggest you go somewhere else. Because I think it's not worth it considering the price.

Dear Enzo_Sayson On behalf of the team at Taal Vista Hotel, I would like to thank you for staying with us. We fully understand the feedback you shared with us – it was underwhelming when we arrived, building inside looks old, the rooms are average, nothing on TV except their menu, breakfast buffet is average, and not worth it considering the price. We are usually full on weekends and admittedly, keeping the rooms ready for guests to check-in at 2PM has been a challenge. In addition, we value the safety of our guests, and as such, rooms have to be thoroughly sanitized before check-in. We would like to assure you that, moving forward, process improvements by our Housekeeping and Front Office Teams will be done to ensure that rooms and amenities are in good condition. Timely reminders on check-out will be done to ensure check in delays will be avoided. We hope that you can stay with us again. We have also reiterated to our team members the importance of making a guest happy during their visit. We hope we can redeem ourselves in your next visit at Taal Vista Hotel. Sincerely yours, Ramon Makilan General Manager

We always visit Tagaytay from time to time and we love the cool breeze of the place.

This is our first time to stay in Taal Vista As a family. I stayed here 2019 . We booked a premier King room in the lake view wing. It is very difficult to contact the hotel reservation. I have to call them for one whole day just to talk to their reservation officer. Reservation confirmation reached our email after 2 days.

Here are the bad points.
1. Aircon is working but not working when we tried to switched it off.
2. All staffs were polite except this rude male restaurant manager with eyeglass, wasnt able to get his name. We reserved for lunch and dinner. We were in Veranda around 11:30 AM First to be there to be exact. During lunch, we want to move near buffet area because it is too crowded near entrance. the manager told us that there were reserved and they are one group. We told him in polite manner that we can switch, since we are the first to arrive. He talked to us in a loud voice, provoked my husband to do the same, since this is the 2nd time, he is disappointed (first is the planned proposal). Later that we know, the "reserved group" arrived at 2PM and they were really not group. how shameful is that.
3. Luggage assistance is not fast, there were only 2 bellboy who help after checkin, you might want to add 2 more staff. We ended up bringing our own luggage to lessen their queue and that we're really not comfortable leaving our luggages on one room.
4. food is not that worthy for 1,500 PHP, buffet selection is limited. Food is not that warm as well. Breakfast as well, very limited, no more taho ;(
5. Noise from other room is heard from ours.

Didnt get to feel the warmth hospitality from the hotel.

Please improve your service and hotel facilities just like how grant you advertise.

Way overrated and over priced. Very nice view that's all this place has. Had dinner my wife got her plate of food and was finished and I hadn't even gotten mine yet. Got to room took a shower no hot water, fiberglass bathtub very weak bounces while taking a shower. Decided to have room service had a order of French fries... took a hour and fries were cold when arriving to room. 8000 plus a night for this... never come to this place again

This was our first visit in this hotel and I think I would think twice before we visit this place again.

The rate was reasonable considering it is situated in a prime location, i.e., accessible to the main road and with stunning view of Taal.

However, I was disappointed with the room. The room was not being maintained, as evidence by:
1. the room seemed to be old and dark
2. the bedsheets/comforter/towel does not smell clean and santized
3. clogged shower area
4. the toilet stinks (even when we just got in the room)
5. the room seemed to have a trace of dirt which may be attributable to it being old.

The amenities are nice, i.e. the swimming pool, the gym and the kids area. My kids enjoyed the pool, though its too cold both in the morning and in the afternoon. the lifeguard is so nice and accommodating.

The food that was served during breakfast was not worth the price and not worth for another try (P700.00 per pax if not included in the room rate). They served typical breakfast, which choices were very common and nothing special, to wit, among others:

bacon, hotdog, tocino, beans, veggies, tawilis,
rice, fried rice, champorado, taho, eggs

pancakes with different syrups and different kind of bread (croissant, pandesal, muffin, etc)

juices (apple, orange, mango), coffee and hot chocolate

fruits, yogurt and salad

Both the check-in/out procedures were very smooth despite the no. of guests during weekend.

Overall, we enjoyed our weekend here despite minor issues in the hotel. we expect more (being a 4-star hotel) but the hotel didn't meet our expectations.

Stayed for two nights with my family. First off, the hotel itself looks elegant, despite being one of the oldest in Tagaytay. They have huge halls that could host different events and a lot of rooms that could host a lot of guests. We came on Christmas day so the crowd is huge, particularly at night.

I have to commend the staff at this hotel, from the check in at the front desk, the guards, the ushers, housekeeping, and most notably the servers, who despite the huge crowd at dinner, were able to serve everyone. We had dinner at the Lounge and the waiting list was long due to the guests coming in (aside from the hotel guests).

Now, for the rooms. I booked the Lake View King and double queen rooms. I stayed at the king room at the basement/1st floor, while my mom and my brother stayed at the double queen at the upper floor. The room was clean, although you can tell that everything is a bit outdated. But my main disappointment with the room was that I didn't get to have a good view of the Taal lake because there were a lot of grass obstructing the view. The rooms at the upper floors would have a better vantage point. Aside from that, the front lawn facing the room was full of people taking pictures that it kinda felt not secure as anyone can basically jump on my balcony and enter my room. And the hotel is beside the sky ranch, guests will pass by the front lawn to access the carnival. It can get noisy too, at least until the Sky Ranch closes.

Breakfast buffet selection is limited to a few options. At least there's unli bacon. For dinner, you have three options, the lounge for indoor dining, the buffet and the veranda for outdoor dining (if you can take the cold weather at night). We dined at the lounge. Didn't expect the servings to be huge. Thanks to the staff for the great service.

If you plan to stay at this hotel, you also have to plan for your meals, because the traffic in front of this hotel is horrible. Granted we stayed during the holidays, so the traffic was really bad. You either have your meals in the hotel, or endure the horrible traffic if you want to eat somewhere else in the area. It doesn't help that the hotel is beside the SkyRanch, so it adds to the congestion. I guess the bad traffic works for the hotel's advantage, because people will be forced to dine in to their establishment instead of going out.

The hotel is great for families. If you can afford, get the lake view rooms, but ask for the upper floors on the side near the Sky Ranch, you will get the best view. Otherwise, the other rooms will suffice.

The 4 stars is not because of the bad traffic (that's not the hotel's fault), it's because I didn't like the room that I got.
