Generally the hotel was nice, the staff are nice, but they don't have a guard on the parking area, anyone can come and go because the parking is shared with Jollibee customer. What I really dont like on the hotel is the room walls are so thin that you can hear the footsteps on the hallway and the noise on the other room. Worse is that I woke up by the noise of the other room. So if you like to relax, this is not the place for you.

If you are just looking for a place to sleep in which is very very very very affordable this is the perfect place for you. The rooms have a gpod space and the location very strategic. Don't expect much for it is a 2 or 3 star hotel/hostel but you will definitely get more than what you pay for. It also has a pool and offers a bfast buffet. You will never go hunger cos its right in front of jollibee

The first time I entered the front door, the smell of mold greeted me. Although people in the front desk seems friendly, they may not tell the truth all the time. They may say the hotel is fully booked but when you pester them, they will eventually tell you that there are still some rooms available. Anyway, here are some salient points during our stay on Aug. 24/25, 2014:

1. The windows are screwed shut and cannot be opened manually. This is a big letdown for those longing for the fresh air of Tagaytay.

2. The taps and showers run dry at 10am. You better finish your bathroom requirements by 9am because the hotel's water supply will run out soon.

3. The buffet breakfast consists of corned beef, hotdog, tinapa, scrambled egg, lugaw, pandesal, pakwan. I missed out on the bananas, which were in short supply. One good thing is that you can partake of the day's first meal overlooking Taal.

4. The location is superb because you have Jollibee next door and Savemore a block away. Street noise won't bother you if you're in the innermost rooms. At Savemore, the mangosteen we bought at P90/kg were sweet and ripe. You should buy here because roadside vendors sell mangosteen at P180/kg!

5. One disgusting experience is the sight of streaks of fecal matter on the toilet bowl when I first entered my room's bath. It seems that they don't clean the room as thoroughly as they should.

6. The aircon was noisy in Room 220. A clicking sound similar to the pitter-patter of rain on your front porch might disturb your sleep.

7. They have a treadmill and elliptical machine in a small poorly ventilated room. Nevertheless, the machines were working well.

8. The room TV was great although the cable channels are very limited. They have HBO HD.

9. The bed was firm and comfortable and the blankets were sufficient. However, the towels were too thin.

10. ONE GREAT TIP: You might save money in being a walk-in guest than booking via travel and discount websites.

We lost about 30K pesos taken from two wallets. Odd thing was the CCTV that infront of one of our rooms was not working. The staff here are not even shock on what have happend. They felt nothing at all and did not exert any effort to find the culprit. Beware of this hotel!!!

We took the executive room. Our room is dusty. And the toilet is very dirty and very yucky! This hotel needs a major renovation. When you look at the hotel facade you will think its a nice hotel. But once you enter their rooms you feel you want to die. And once you start using the bathroom you will feel your like in hell. Good thing there is a Jollibee fastfood right in front of the hotel.

Hotel staff are also not friendly. They have a gym but can only accommodate less than five persons. The hotel has no elevator. Good luck if you have arthritis.

Tagaytay Haven Hotel - Mendez : We just stayed overnight , so here’s my impression of the hotel:

POSITIVE:

Affordable for not so picky big family since they have a room with 3-4 beds
Clean , comfortable, soft beddings .
Breakfast included (but we didn’t consume it)
Friendly staff , located along the hway ,
With small indoor pool at the lower ground and gym
Jollibee in front , occupies the same parking with Jollibee (Positive or negative?)

NEEDS IMPROVEMENT:

Bathroom needs upgrading, old fixture
Lobby dark and Entrance not so inviting,
Near Jollibee, you could smell the frying of Chicken
Wifi and signal varies

For an overnite, “ budget watch out” weekend …this is okay.

This was our 2nd stay, the 1st was same time last yr. Our first stay was ok, the only thing that left a bad impression on me was the receptionist. She was not friendly at all. But since the hotel is relatively new (I think), we gave it another try.

This time, the receptionist was accommodating. The problem that I had was how thin the walls are! We had a connecting room, and I can actually hear what the other room was watching. While on the other side, my neighbor's snoring kept me up all night. We didn't have this problem before, but from reading other reviews I guess it doesn't matter what type of room you got. It also says on their menu that room service is available 24h during weekends. Not! The only thing that came out positive from our stay here was that it was only 5mins. away from Bag of Beans.

Check in dec 31 and the rate is affordable compare to nearby hotel . We just need a place to sleep . This place is ok. When we enter the room there the smell is old furniture smell. We don’t expect much but the amenities (parking, pool and gym) is ok. Staff are very helpful. No water in the room but there is guest kit.

The location of Tagaytay Haven is perfect. There's a Savemore supermarket, 711 and Mercury drug walking distance from the hotel. Jollibee is located just in front of the hotel and there's a bridge at the second floor connected to Jollibee. There's plenty of parking space. We got the deluxe room for P2800. We choose the smoking room because my husband and I smokes. We ask for an ashtray from the front desk but they don't have one. At the balcony we found a pale filled with cigarette butts so we figured that's their ashtray. Lol. The tiles of the balcony needs to be cleaned, the rusty tables and chairs I think needs to be replaced. The bathroom is neat but the rusty shower, bidet and sink same as the tiles needs to be replaced as well. Don't expect too much from the room because it's so plain. It doesn't have a mini refrigerator, no free bottled water, wifi access is only available at the lobby, no kitchen facilities like utensils or coffeemaker/electric kettle though I know that the amenities that I mentioned varies each hotel (now I know why the lady at the front desk did not answer me when I ask her about amenities because there's none, first I thought she didn't hear me.) but knowing that there are plenty of fancy hotels nearby they would want to stand out so guests will choose staying with them.
