Keni Po… where do I start, this was our first proper accommodation on our backpacking trip around the Philippines. We are backpackers that don’t want to stay in hostels (as we like the quiet life) and Keni Po was the perfect start.

We read about it in the “Lonely Planet” book, it was recommended as a place to stay and as we were doing this trip spontaneously, we took the recommendation. We did try and book online, but it seemed to be fully booked, on the off chance we decided to call them whilst on our bus into Tagaytay from Manila and the reception lady reserved us a room on the spot.

On arrival our check-in was easy and they asked if we would like to see the room before completing the booking which was a lovely touch. They gave us a room that opened central to the columns on the front of the building, we had concerns of bugs and traffic noise but bizarrely it was fairly quiet when the patio doors were shut and aside from a couple of tiny ants in the bathroom, it was bug free.

The hotel has a gorgeous little tropical garden with a quaint pool to top it off, the building always smelt so clean and fresh too. The room was basic – nothing fancy but we also had everything we needed. The bed was fairly comfy with just a sheet for cover, the rooms came with Netflix too which is something we wanted to avoid on our travels, however, in Tagaytay we had storms both nights and it rained so hard that we ended up getting room service in bed with a Netflix movie on. The food was great too, the only offer
room service for food and the servers were absolutely lovely on delivery, with the food well presented on trays.

The hotel is well known with the local Tuk Tuk drivers, and you can’t miss its striking yellow look off the side of the road. Its location is great, you can walk either way on the road and instantly experience some Filipino Culture or pop to a local park or restaurant– we actually didn’t see any tourists in this area which was a bonus for our trip.

My family and I decided to have a get away from the busy metro in manila and decided to have an overnight stay in Tagaytay. We didn't have any prebooking since we were just planning on scouting on hand (considering our limited budget). The well-lighted and spacious parking lot and facade of the building really caught our attention. So we inquired at Keni Po's information. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist though it was already late at night and gave us a tour of the room.

We got the P2,000 family room with 2 matrimonial beds, cozy and cute living room plus a small kitchenette. It was more than what we paid for since it has 2 cable tvs (one in the room and one in the living room), wifi (which my husband liked a lot) and free usage of their lawn pool (which the kids enjoyed so much!).

We also did not worry about going outside for food since they offer reasonable menu. We loved the kare-kare (P175, good for 2) and the pork ribs in oyster sauce (P90).

I am also meticulous at cleanliness but Keni Po's cleanliness even exceeded my expectation! It was a so worth a stay and will surely come back at Keni PO!

Every time we go to Tagaytay, we always stay at KENI PO. We've been here for so many times and I definitely assure that this is the most affordable and the best place to stay. Why? For Php 1,200 (Weekday Rate) and Php 1,500 (Weekend and Holiday Rate), you'll feel like you're staying in a three star hotel. Their rooms for 2 persons include Air conditioner, Cable TV w/ DVD player, intercom, hair dryer, mini ref with drinks on it, clean bed, sets of slippers, towels, and toiletries. Each room has a small balcony. We are meticulous when it comes to cleanliness, and I never get disappointed on how Keni Po maintained their rooms. They also have a small swimming pool.

All the staff are friendly, approachable, and accommodating. The food is great which cost less than a hundred per meal especially their "Pork Rib in Oyster Sauce." Keni po is along the road going Picnic Grove and Palace in the Sky. No problem with transportation because once you get out of the hotel, there are parked trikes outside and jeep passes by in front of the hotel.

One problem you may encounter here is that during peak seasons, they get fully booked like Holy week and Christmas Breaks, so book ahead maybe a month before your planned stay so thay you'll get a secure reservation.

I will definitely never try any other accommodation in Tagaytay, only at Keni Po!!!

It was my first time to stay at Keni Po hotel! It was an awesome experience! Good thing we looked around the city and found this place. Cleanliness is superb, food is great, staff are friendly and accommodating, And to top it all rate is way too cheap considering the amenities!!! The hotel is so well lighted, parking space not a problem with round the clock security guard. Really felt secured. Will definitely come back.. Keni Po is my new found home in the south!

Been browsing through Tripadvisor and this hotel has really gotten my interest, especially that we were on a tight budget and just wanted a quick Tagaytay getaway to celebrate our anniversary. After reading positive reviews and blogs about this place, we decided to give it a shot. So I called Keni Po a week before our getaway to check for availability. I was able to talk to Agnes and she assured me that there's plenty of rooms available since it is lean season and we are reserving for a weekday. I asked her if I need to pay a downpayment for reservation or could we just walk-in. She advised that we could just walk-in since again there's not much guests around this season.

Finally, yesterday we drove to Tagaytay and checked in at Keni Po. It was easy to locate since we're coming from Sta. Rosa Tagaytay road. It was just right next to Ina ng Laging Saklolo church (which happens to be one of my favorite churches) and it's yellow-painted walls make it really recognizable. Checking-in was easy too. After paying P1,200 (rate for twin-sharing room for weekdays, 1500 on weekends) at the information desk, we were then accompanied to our room (Room G).

And yes, the place was just wow! Like the other reviews, twin sharing room is small but not claustrophobic. There's just enough space to move around. The bed was really comfy and the sheets are clean. The room has a sweet aroma scent that gives you a spa feeling. Very cozy! The bathroom was good, except that it took us a while to turn on the shower's heater. And yes, the room's got a mini-bar where it has softdrinks, beer and bottled water and some snacks and biscuits for the same rate you can get them in 711. Good thing, we didn't have to go to the convenience store to get these stuffs. Just get what you want, then pay for them later when you check out. The hotel is also serving meals, but we weren't able to give them a try. Fiancè's favorite was the cable TV and it has a wide range of channels (because we missed watching UFC so much!). They also have a DVD player and they offer you a wide list of DVDs you can borrow (but since we were glued so much to UFC, there was no need to borrow one. hihi). There's also a telephone in the room, which you may call the frontdesk, or maybe even outside the place (if you want to order some food or something), but I guess the only downside of our stay is that they didn't put the number to call in case we want to contact room service. But that was just a really, really minor markdown. Security was also assured. We went out twice during the night to have dinner and get some coffee, and there'd always be guards securing the place, although it's cold and foggy outside.

Overall, the place was just relaxing, cozy, and peaceful. Most of all, inexpensive. Just the place we were looking for. And before we checked out, Fiancè told me, "let's come back here on December, and every 3months from then forward." New found home in Tagaytay!

This hotel was introduced to us by our close friend, at that time we're looking for a new place to visit where we could relax and find serenity away from our busy days in the city. We decided to visit the place the first time way back October of 2012 to celebrate our 1st Anniversary as a couple. We never get disappointed the first time we've been there. We had the services we expected. We just paid for P1,500 and we got the relaxation we want.

Breakfast is not included in that P1,500 payment, it's just for the room reservation but it's worth it. They have a mini fridge inside the room loaded with sodas in can, beer, bottled water plus they also have some snacks and biscuits. They will charge it later when you check out. They have a cable tv inside the room and a dvd player and you could rent a dvd from them. Another good thing we like about this hotel is that you could bring foods and they won't charge you for that unlike other hotels that won't let their guests bring outside foods.

Bathroom in this hotel is not too huge but it is very clean. All amenities are working, have a hot and cold shower, toilet is clean with bidet. It also has a bathroom curtain that would separate the toilet area from the bath area.

Foods are all good! Very good! Hahaha! They only costs around P80-P100 for rice & viand and drinks are for a separate price. It's worth it! Their viand for a single order is actually good for 2 and they taste delicious. (No kidding) 😊 Our favorite is their caldereta and the spare ribs. They would serve your food hot as they would cook it per order. you could just call them from the room phone and they will serve the food within 20-30 mins. Feels like you're in the restaurant when they serve it because they would provide a complete condiments. They know what you need.

After our first visit, we suddenly find ourselves coming back to this hotel. Because we never feel away from our home. That's why we called it our second home. They are always reachable too, aside from the landline they have you could also reach them on their mobile numbers for smart, globe and sun. Whether you call them or you txt them, you would always get a response from them as soom as possible. They also have the most approachable persons, they would accomodate you courteously and they always have a smile on their faces.

If you feel like going out of your room, they have a pool outside with a mini garden with tables where you could also eat your lunch or dinner you could just ask them to deliver the food on the garden. They always see to it that the pool is always being checked and cleaned, I am sure about it because most of the time when we go there the pool is scheduled for it.

I don't have negative things to say about this hotel. It's perfect for me. It's near a church so you could go to church first before checking in. It's very relaxing. Worth the travel, worth the price. Everything's nice.

Keni Po is quite different from those others that we came across the several review sites.I was actually amazed by how this place was constructed with elegance at a compact location. From Rotonda Tagaytay, we rode a tricycle going straightly to Keni Po. It costs P40.00 for 2 persons. Travel time from there is 10-15 minutes. If you happen to be in a private vehicle, way track of these tricycles is I think the most convenient to follow as it is just a straight path to hotel, compared to what the Olivares jeepney leads to confusing turns before you can get to the main road where the hotel is located.

Arriving there, we are greeted by their courteous staffs and a huge parking lot which I believe can accommodate 20-25 cars. The front view of the hotel wasn't at first appealing for me, maybe because I didn't like the yellow peg of the hotel, but not until we came in to the reception area, where you have to present your deposit slip on your prior reservation (they require at least 50% down payment a day before your arrival date),pay for the balance you owe and a staff will be assisting you to your room.., these flaws eventually disappeared and changed to being so happy and satisfied and convinced that this is gonna be a great stay for me and for my buddy.

And just before I forgot, aside from their great reputations on the bloggers' point of views, one of the major reasons why we chose to stay in this hotel is of course the deal it had offered us. If you are staying as a couple or a travel buddy, you can get an Overnight Accommodation to this hotel for just P1,200 on weekdays and P1,500 on weekends. If you were to get there with a group of friends or family, they're offering a 2-storey villas with great amenities, facing the pool area for just P3,500 good for 6-8 persons already. The price was amaziinnnnnng! Seriously I was really amazed that Keni Po all have these for the price of P1,200! Really a winner! :) Another thing is their very good room reservation assistance. I actually inquired a day before our arrival. It was April 16 when I called and asked if there were rooms still available for April 17, they confirmed they have and what I am really impressed is that I actually requested that I prefer a room not facing the main road of the hotel, as some travellers commented how they are quite disturbed by the noisy cars passing through the front of the hotel (maybe the reason why they just got 4.5 instead of 5 stars), and they just did it, without any single hesitation. We stayed at room letter "I". The veranda is facing the relaxing scene of the resort's garden and on the side of it came the swimming pool. We were very pleased with the view (though it has no view of the Taal Volcano). I didst feel the place was congested, I felt privacy. I felt as if that was my own rest house. :)

See our pictures, that describes our overall stay...................... :)

I'm a regular visitor of Keni Po for 5 years and happy with their services so far. Rooms are a bit small but they're alright if you're into clean and budget friendly accomodations. My concerns are the hot/cold showers which is hard to use and the tricycle drivers* tend to refer you to other accomodation (I guess they get a cut for a succesful referral).

*They usually say that Keni po is fully booked and they know another plays you can stay. Better call Keni po and check their vacancy. Another option is 5R which seems to be their sister establishment.

This little gem of a place I found online while browsing through countless travel forums and while reading travel blogs. What intrigued me the most was I’ve never read any major bad feedback about this place, all good reviews.Tagaytay is a beautiful city in itself and to get the most of that real country experience, one should stay in a place that feels home-y, more of a rest house type of accommodation, with a nice little garden and an outdoor swimming pool. Keni Po perfectly suited these requirements and the best thing was Keni Po has very affordable rates. Our room albeit small was really clean with none of that dingy feeling that you get from old hotels and houses-for-rent. In fact it emanates a certain warmth and charm that’s perfect for Tagaytay’s cold weather. Our room also has its own comfort room with a bath tub.

We had encountered 2 major troubles with our room’s CR (comfort room) though. First, the bidet (water hose connected with the toilet bowl) got screwed up (thanks to me) and wouldn’t stop gushing water so we had to call Keni Po’s staff. The manong fixed it in no time. Second, I accidentally locked the room of the CR from outside and realized we don’t have a key for it. They sent a repairman ASAP to fix this booboo. I really have to commend the staff of Keni Po for being efficient and very polite all throughout our stay. Two thumbs up! I can honestly say that we did not have any tinge of regret with booking a budget hotel like Keni Po. it’s a place that I would gladly recommend to my friends. The customer service provided to us was great and the experience we had staying in this nice little place was more than satisfactory.
