So we stayed in the superior suite with the niece and nephews (teens) on our El Nido trip. It was a cozy place, WiFi connection and free breakfast. The WiFi is best used downstairs or when ur on the third floor having your breakfast. Oh and they only serve breakfast but you can still hang out upstairs, remove your footwear and have food or drinks you’ve bought. Sonny was very helpful and accommodating with our needs and has smile all the time. We pronounced his name as “Sunnie” and it made him smile more. Joaquinn was perfectly situated near the Coast Guard and about 3-5mins walk to the town, depending on how fast u walk and about 3mins away from the beach itself.

Went here with my wife and baby boy for a night. Surprisingly, the place was very good! Just don't expect a modern hotel feel because this is a quaint bed and breakfast that will give you the home away from home feels. Room was fantastic with a great view of the lake. We went here for rest and quiet time and thats what we got. Room is well maintained, cozy and very comfortable. It comes with good wifi 10-11mbps net speed, led tv with cignal cable (good channels). So far booking is fast and staffs are very accommodating. Haven't tried the breakfast yet but I fet compelled to write a review.

Its our first time here. Would recommend there breakfast, staffs are approachable. A bit disappointed on my special request upon booking online. I’ve requested for something special so our honeymoon will be memorable as I’ve informed them that we will have our honeymoon here. Nothing’s really special about the room which I was not expecting. I just love the view from our room.

Booked this quaint B&B out of curiosity because we always see it whenever we're in Tagaytay. It didn't disappoint. We were billeted in one of the lower rooms that had a garden and the view of Taal Lake was simply breathtaking. I spent sunrise at the garden just watching the light shine upon the lake and say hello to get another beautiful start of the day. All the staff were very professional and helpful. They'll try their best to accommodate your every request (within reason of course) and do it very promptly. Breakfast servings, especially the Filipino breakfast was rather large for me. Others might find it quite adequate. Will I book here next time? I sure will!

First I must say the staff are truly amazing, thank you all for making my stay yet again absolutely fantastic. This is my 2nd time staying here and will not be the last, I found the room, room 8 very clean and presented, fresh bedding comfortable bed stunning views of TAAL, the little veranda looking over the Lake with garden is really nice to sit with a bottle of wine and just relax. I shall be there again as I would not dream of going anywhere else.see you all in a few weeks.

It has been a place of retreat for people who just want to stay in and relax. The garden rooms are always the best. Very quaint and cozy --- after all these years --- we kept coming back. Sad that the kitchen just caters to breakfast as it used to be so good. Wish they would put up a cozy coffee shop that caters to people who look for some peace and quiet. The staff --- always smiling and friendly. So yes...still one of the GO TO places for zen moments --- after all these years....

My husband wanted to have a weekend getaway in Tagaytay and booked this hotel because of its good reviews and cheaper rooms. It was a deluxe room with garden view at P4700+/night. The place is very old and dated, if I were to choose, I'd rather pay P7K/night for a modern room, better facilities, same good service and a spectacular view of Taal like our last stay in Carmelence. If coming with elders, better request rooms on the upper floor. Our room was 3 flights down the stairs and we have children along, it was tiring to go up and down. They don't have a baby crib either so it was a hassle to bring our own. Our deluxe garden view room has a four poster bed which appears romantic but other than that, nothing special. The garden just outside the room is semi private, you can see your neighbors smoking. Yes, there's view of Taal, but much like other places too. The garden itself was dirty, musky, and smelled of poop, I cannot imagine having breakfast here. There's a stray cat too. I ABSOLUTELY HATE the scent in the room being diffused in the burner. Scent was so overpowering I had to ask staff to take out the burner but the scent still powerfully lingered on the room overnight. Other guests may have liked it but it made me dizzy. I've stayed in all other types of accommodations both cheap and expensive, but never assume all guests would like a scent like this in their rooms and a strong air freshener in the toilet too. My baby also had 4 mosquito bites when she woke up! Better bring insect repellent and kulambo! At Carmelence, we kept our windows wide open but never had a single mosquito bite! The floors creak too everytime you walk and it was so slippery because of the floor wax. No telephone inside room, just an intercom to front desk. Wifi connection was free but slow. The ref was dripping water inside, had to place a towel inside so I can put some food. Limited parking space too maybe only 7 cars? The worst was the place where aircon was installed, on the side of the bed directly on our heads! Had to endure a low fan setting to prevent the air blowing on our face and when it got hot in the middle of the night, we had to sleep and switch to the other edge of the bed just to sleep comfortably. On the positive side, the bed and pillows were comfortable, strong hot and cold water pressure in the bathroom, basic but generous breakfast portion can be served inside room, customer service was fast, if you ask for something, a staff brings and doorbells in just a few minutes, at least 4 staffs helped us with our bags during check in and checkout. If you like old-feel places and just a place to sleep and unwind, maybe this place is for you. But for me, I'd prefer elsewhere next time.

I am very pleased with our stay. I was with my mother so we are fortunate to be given the room with lesser stairs to come down. And it was raining hard. Next time we will book the room with garden. So contented with the price I paid.
