Last week, after a really busy, hectic, whirlwind that was March - April, I impulsively decided to do a road trip to Tagaytay and take an overnight breather at The Inn at Cliffouse. Luckily, their rooms were not booked as it was in the middle of the workweek. I was able to book the Minot's Ledge room.

The Minot's Ledge is elegantly designed in black and white with the touches of toile being my favorite. This is the opposite corner room to where I stayed before. The view from the deck was of course still lovely. As a bonus, the balcony felt even more private and secluded in this room.

The elegance of The Inn at Cliffhouse along with the amply-spaced, well-appointed rooms and the personal touches in the service have been established not just in my previous review but in many other reviews from what i've been reading. I am glad to say the premises have been maintained very well.

In this trip though, The Inn served as the perfect cocooning reward after a busy stretch at work. The quiet was what exactly what I needed. The plush, comfy bed and the equally comfortable sofa were like sanctuaries for my reading. It was like being in your dream home away from home.

That night, with news of the meteor shower, I fired up the jacuzzi, took a carafe of ice cold water (provided by housekeeping) out to the balcony and tried to wait for the shooting stars. Alas, the moon was out and bright so no meteor shower. But... I was in my private jacuzzi (for that night at least), bathing in the light of the glorious moon that cast a glow on the lake across as well. It's like the shooting stars granted all my wishes already anyway.

The other thing The Inn at Cliffhouse specializes in is breakfast that is truly worth getting up for! The triple berry yogurt parfait was wonderful. The coffee, perfectly strong. The seating cozy and very Merchant Ivory in feel. I could have sat there all day long taking my time eating the three course breakfast so I wouldn't have to leave.

Oh and special mention of the lovely lavender scented soaps provided in the room by Matiz.

After breakfast, there was still some time to enjoy the room. I was delighted to find a yoga mat provided in the closet. I laid it out on the balcony under the blazing heat of the sun. Then i figured... I think i'll just go back to bed :-)

One of the most restful, comfortable evenings you can spend is just waiting for you in The Inn at Cliffhouse.

My brand new husband and I stayed at the Minot's Lodge which had a jacuzzi and a fantastic view of Taal Volcano. The main reason why I wanted a wedding at Tagaytay was because of Taal Volcano. I am always mesmerized and calmed just by seeing this beautiful scenery. Having our first night as a married couple at this room was the perfect cap to our Tagaytay wedding as we had the most breathtaking view of the volcano, amidst the jacuzzi, wine and some bacalao. Nothing could ne more perfect and romantic! The amenities in the room ( which is huge! ) are world class, especially the bathroom fixtures which my husband is so particular about. The service is also superb, with the very efficient staff.

We stayed overnight at The Inn on the day of my birthday. We took a bus going there and although their sign was a bit camouflaged from the main road it was not hard to find. One would not find the place distinctive of an Inn because it is surrounded by restaurants and ice cream vendors. The weather was pouring but the staff made as feel warm and welcomed. The Montauk Point Suite was very spacious and the beds were very inviting. We had a very relaxed night and breakfast was the best we had so far. They offered a personalized service, superb breakfast and a truly wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Clearwater House (same owner as Cliffhouse) and got a complimentary suite with the use of the venue. Since the renewal of vows was a "destination wedding", we booked all 4 rooms for the family to use. Note that they are strict about having only 4 guests in a room. I guess it's to control traffic and with that, they are able to provide excellent service to each of their guests. The rooms were all lovely! We loved the queen beds, the sheets, the pillows, the restroom and the beautiful view. If you'll get the corner suite, you get to use the jacuzzi. No worries, they will help you set it up. Customer service is wonderful. We had Coco as our innkeeper. Every night, she would leave a personalized note to check how you were and if you needed anything, just call her. Coco will assist you as much as she can. Breakfast: Was yummy! We were full....all the time! Breakfast seemed to be more of a brunch :) Hopefully, they would be able to prepare breakfast for kids like pancakes or cereal because kids don't really appreciate poached eggs :) There was a young man also assisting Coco. Forgive me, I asked his name but now I can't recall. He knew all of us guests so very personalized service. RATE \ PRICE: You get what you paid for. A bit pricey but the experience is all worth it!

We booked 2 rooms (one complimentary and the other with charge) the night before our wedding and what can I say about the ff:
Place and rooms: SUPERB!!!! Love the rooms, sheets, the pillows, the space, the design, the restroom, the location, the restos in the area and magnificent view. You will feel really relaxed and free if you’ll stay here.
Customer service: Couldn’t ask for more. Ms. Jen (very reliable and fashionable) made my preparations for the wedding lighter by giving me options, discounted rates and answering all my questions almost instantly. Coco (a very warm and sweet girl) made our stay relaxing and fun. One would really enjoy talking to her not only you can rely on to her like a real friend you can also expect her to assist you the best way she can. Faye (a sweetheart), she’s so bubbly and cute. She’s always there when you need her. If only I could take her home with me. And lastly boylet forgot his name. I call him Boylet(he will dazzle you with his smile) coz he’s cute, talks really well and of course always there to assist. Thank you guys!!!
Food: Love it!!! Was so stuffed!
Rates: all worth it!
TO ALL SMOKERS: don’t be disappointed if you’ll be told you cannot smoke in the room or balcony. They do have a good reason. Oh well, what can we do? If that’s the price we have to pay then so be it. 

This is definitely not for backpackers. Or budget travellers. There are places in Tagaytay for them, and I have stayed in one when I just needed a place for the night. The Inn at Cliffhouse is an upscale boutique hotel, and yes, it is expensive but what you get is an amazing suite with 2 king-size beds, a commodious bathroom, a jacuzzi, and among the most stunning views of Taal Volcano. Plus a fantastic breakfast and white-glove service.

Each hotel has its own set of rules, and checking-in includes agreeing to its rules, including how many can stay in your room. Just because you've paid P15,000 for a room does not mean you can have a run of it.

The Inn allows walk-ins (subject of course to room availability) and you can actually choose your room. Each room is themed differently, based on New England lighthouses, and I liked the yellow and black room given to me, because it reminded me of my pugs.

We got a free night at The Inn after booking their private garden as our reception venue for our wedding. We had the best service ever! Enjoyed it so much we extended our stay for another night! Chocolates and cute gifts everyday, personalized menu for breakfast and love letters from their innkeeper, and unlike hotels where they charge you if you want to watch a dvd movie, here, you can just phone it in and they'll deliver it to your room free of charge! They totally made us fall in love with them. Plus, they only have about 4 rooms so we really felt that we have the place all to ourselves. The room are so spacious and the interior well designed but I guess the best part is the private balcony (away from the tourists) that gives us a picturesque view of Taal lake.

Perfectly delivered reservation by Mr. Jeff and the Inn team. Very professional yet so warm reception until send-off and this includes security- there is a protocol on parking reservation for the guest upon arrival. The suites are well-secured but they have convenient access to the not so crowded cafe and French restaurant and grill. But the in-house breakfast menu is a must-try! My family enjoyed its distinct and delicious selections. Servings are notably generous. Seemingly continental but with a fusion that is interestingly owing to the Inn kitchen's signature twist! Definitely not generic and thusly exclusive to the Inn.

The suite is EXQUISITE! Perfect view of the lake from all vantage points we've been in Tagaytay compared so far! The Minot's Ledge Suite was grand, from the layout to the beds and other furnishings with commendable amenities, not to mention the terrace jacuzzi overlooking the lake. View is unobstructed as it is comparatively near.

The suite provides a perfect rest, with its well-appointed lighting fixtures and homey decors. The dawnbreak while saying morning prayers by the terrace with the lake and clouds covering the top of the mountain nesting in its front the volcano, and the cool breeze from the ridge while everything else was quiet, simply spelled both of nature's gentleness and power in the beauty of the moment. Grateful to have made a right choice!

We had a sumptuous breakfast on a Sunday morning after a bike ride from Makati. They served traditional Filipino food with. Western flair. Service was excellent! The Best thing about this resto is the unobstructed view of Taal volcano...so close yet so far away!
