I stayed in the Hotel over 2 months, during my stay I enjoyed a outstanding service. The Breakfast was always on point and fresh prepared and I can defiantly recommend the French toast.
My stay was during the Covid pandemic but how the whole Team managed this situation was phenomenal. The rooms were more then clean and the house keeping tooks really care of their guest.

A really nice relaxing place with friendly and attentive staff. Very clean and quiet. Walking distance to the town centre and close to a lot of restaurants and attractions.
I would definitely stay here again.

This looks like a great hotel when you view it from the outside. But a lot of things could be improved.

1. Lack of details. This hotel that is european design inspired, lacks a lot of details. I am not knowledgeable with design and architectual specifics but I feel like if you aim for a European architecture and interior design, you should be attentive to details. The restaurant is classy, though, but it seems due to costing issue, they have the lights off most of the time and with that you don't get to see the beauty of it.

2. Wifi is slow. Tolerable but if you are here for business and needs fast internet, I suggest looking for other hotels with cheaper price but fast internet connection.

3. Customer service. I was surprised that every people I invite to visit me are monitored unreliably. I mean I know for security and stuff that is needed but very early in the morning me and my cousin went to a nearby fastfood chain to get somthing to eat, and when I checked out, I was told that their graveyard personnel saw that there were 3 of us indicatiing that there were 3 persons staying in my room and with that I needed to pay for a third person's stay. But no! I said only 2 stayed but I had other 3 vistors who were actually from Tagaytay and they did not need to stay in the hotel. So that was crazy!

4. Value for money. It's not worth it. There are other hotels that are cheaper or of almost the same value with best amenities around Tagaytay that would truly make you feel at home. Like Anya Resort and Residences (My fave in Tagaytay). Anya's regular stay rates are really pricey but if they have promos, you can get their least expensive suite for almost the price of this hotel.

The only nice things in this hotel are:

1. Food. Breakfast selection is good even though there were only few choices.

2. View. No need to go to other spots to get to see the great Taal view. You can have a room with balcony with the Taal lake view.

It was not until we had paid for 4 nights in full - 14000 peso plus per night - did we discover the following absences in the reality compared to the website. Restaurant not open at all - might be open till 7pm on Saturday nights. Coffee shop only open until 2pm. Only eating options are deliveries or very local restaurants. Swimming pool is filthy and has debris. Wifi is appalling and continuously drops out. There is practically no water pressure in the shower and don’t even try waiting for the bath to fill.

The rooms and corridors are clean though but it really lacks any other facilities that I would have expected for the charge. Basically just somewhere to sleep.

No wifi in room even though advertised. Couldn't fix it because "technician not available" Asked for a small refund but was told "wifi is only complementary and not included in the room price." So according to this managers logic, or lack of, anything broken or not working becomes complementary so they don't have to compensate you. I'd prefer the manager be honest and say they're too cheap to give a partial refund instead of BS me. Avoid this overpriced hotel. Much better service and value at Taal vista or Days Inn. Never again.

The hotel had just been opened a month when I stayed there, in June. It's a brand new building of its own, just three floors high and very conveniently located within walking distance of two of the town's main malls.

There are definite pluses and minuses to staying at a brand new establishment like this. None of the problems were major but there were so many of them, and for a hotel that charges some of the highest rates in town, these problems shouldn’t be there.

The first issue arose even before I checked in, right after I made the reservations online. Their website doesn’t allow for any payment; instead, they sent an email confirmation and asked me to make a bank transfer to their account in the Philippines as payment. To say that was odd would be an understatement. I emailed back to ask them if they could accept a credit card but they didn’t reply. I tried twice more before they finally replied and told me I didn’t need to make a bank transfer and could pay when I checked in.

The hotel looked great when I checked in, and even though it was almost midnight I could see it was new, clean and fresh. But it was soon evident that there are also teething pains that can be very annoying to the guests. It also appears that no one running the hotel stayed even one night in the rooms to test everything out, because there are problems that should have been detected and fixed before opening to paying guests.

The bathtub in my room leaked badly, even when used just for a shower, causing a mini flood. They couldn't fix it so they efficiently offered to move me to another room. This second room was much larger but it tor had its problems.

The light fixtures by each bed were illogically connected to the overhead main, so you had to have all the lights on for them to work. They couldn't be turned on and off independently of the main switch, which was located at the entrance. So unless you could sleep with all the lights on, the bedside lights were useless. If you turned the main lights off, you couldn't turn the bedside lights on. This made for middle-of-the-night visits to the bathroom an adventure of finding furniture in the dark with your shin.

Speaking of furniture, the desk in the room was a lovely glass and wood creation. The problem was that there was a shelf running under the length of the desk right at knee level, making it impossible for you to fit your legs under the desk. So you had to sit with your lower body slanted sideways because there was no space for your legs. Why anyone would design such an impractical desk is as big a question as who would even think of installing these desks in the hotel rooms. It was another example of how no one running the hotel had spent a night in the rooms to test the facilities.

The room was spacious and the distance from the end of the beds to the wall was over 10 feet. The same sized TV that was adequate for the other smaller room was minuscule here and you felt as if you were looking at an iPad. Again, it seemed as if no one had thought about this and you can't enjoy the simple act of lying in bed to watch TV here.

Another issue is their horrible wifi. You’re given a password and a user ID, but each time your phone screen goes off, you have to input the password and user ID again to log in. This can mean having to enter your info as many as 10 times a day! The speeds are also so so so ridiculously slow—I used a Speed Test App and measured the hotel wifi (which they call “High Speed”) at an unbelievable 0.47 MBPS!

It’s a pity that there are these issues because the hotel has a lot of potential. It’s in a terrific location and in a town where there are no taxis or buses, being close to the conveniences and attractions is pretty important.

I should say that despite the problems with the room and the systems there, the service from the staff is terrific. They are polite, friendly, warm, accommodating and just terrific. They deserve a hotel and management that matches them and the Carlito should fix its problems.

Something new and for us it’s now one of the best dining places to go to in Tagaytay

Today is our 2nd time at Hotel Carlito. My husband and I were looking for a place to have tea and dessert. We tried their cafe and this time we came at night.

They look better at night because you would see more the details and what I love about this place is everything blends well- the spacing, the elegant but at the same time homey ambiance plus the food and all are excellent. You would admire the details they put into their dining and cafe area, the lighting, colors and pieces of furniture, the paintings, love the chandeliers - all European inspired.

The first time we went to the hotel was last July 15, 2018 to celebrate my parents anniversary and my Dad’s birthday. There was a good mix of items in their menu so we wanted to try as many as we can- we tried the classic caesar salad, French onion soup, Quatro Formaggio Pizza, my sister, Mom and I ordered Smoked Baby Back Ribs, my husband tried the Grilled Lamb Chops and my Dad ordered the Roasted Sea Bass. All the food tasted really good. Especially for the lamb chops, description for me would be succulent. Their food for me is comparable if not better, than some of the 5-star hotels in Manila. They even went the extra mile and gave my parents and Dad delicious complimentary cakes, balloons and decors for the celebration.

On the cost, not cheap but I would say not too expensive as well, as portion, taste add the ambiance and having met as well the owners Mr. Carl and Mrs. Jo, very kind and humble folks, I would say all worth it.

As frequent Tagaytay visitors, this is now one of the favorites or our go to places.

We’re also planning next time to stay at one of their unique also European inspired rooms.

Added pictures of our highly recommended lamb chops and ribs.

We booked for 3 days in a Junior King room and my 2 sisters booked for 1 night in a Junior twin room. Months before the booked date, we requested and they confirmed that the rooms are reserved and it will be connecting rooms. But on the day itself, they said they cannot provide the interconnecting room and that the 2 rooms were reserved in another floor. We insisted to give us the rooms at least on the same floor since they confirmed it before. After some discussions and arguments, they upgraded 1 room to royal suite for 1 night. There is nothing special with the royal suite except there is carpet. The space is bigger but nothing is there. The toilet and bathroom of JK is much nicer compared to RS. The room ambience in JK is better than the RS. JK has sofa but RS has a small "office" table.

We enjoyed the JK more. RS is not worth it of its price. It is double the price of the JK.

Swimming pool is small. Breakfast is nice but the plates and glasses are not so clean. It's as if they have been stocked there for a long time without being washed.

The guards are friendly. The staff in the cafe, not so friendly. The receptionist is polite.

Overall, it was nice but it did not exceed my expectations.

I like the ambience in this Classy Boutique Hotel. Every detail was well thought out. Loved the spaciousness of the hotel. The place felt very French. The staff are very accomodating and friendly. As my friend said of the place: “ It’s been a while since he’s seen a very beautiful hotel “. The girls had fun taking lots of instagramable picts. There’s a Chandelier in the Cafe Restroom!!!
