The hotel itself is very basic. No pool, no gym, and nothing to do but sleep. F&B is weak, breakfast was included but best to forego it altogether. Tapa was tough, corned beef had too many potatoes, tawilis had a coating that didn't crisp it up nicely, pancakes were flat, coffee was pathetic, and hot chocolate didn't stand a chance against McDonald's. I tried to book through Agoda which was offering the same room for 5,999 but it wouldn't get through, so I opted to book directly at the site for a whopping P9,200. We chose this hotel due to the proximity to Tagaytay Highlands where our activities would be based on.

Parking was insufficient so I had to settle on parking on an inclined ramp. They had a pricing scheme that didn't make sense. A room with one king bed was more expensive than a room with two queen beds and a pull-out. The sliding doors didn't lock and there was a construction beside the hotel which kept me up most of the night. Hot water was weak. Water pressure was also weak. The WIFI was atrocious, it was intermittent, slow, and couldn't even make Amazon Video work on the TV. The smoke alarm was falling off in the room which made it look like a peeping tom was doing his tricks on the device.

The plus things, it was quiet, with no one singing karaoke in the middle of the night. The rooms are spacious, bigger than the usual hotel rooms. It is called 8 Suites after all. The staff was courteous even though clueless about basic operations.

The road going here is narrow but not dangerous, there is no traffic in this area of Tagaytay. The location is quite hidden and would cater to couples who want a hideaway to do solicitous behaviors. The checkout is uncomplicated, again beneficial to people who would want a quick getaway. it will not impress a date however and be conducive to first timers.

By the way, the hotel photos were taken when the hotel was newly built about 17 years. ago. I still remember this when I used to work for Tagaytay Highlands in 1999

We stayed in 8 Suites for 2 nights at the Sweetest Suite. We chose it based on the photos and reviews but we were disappointed with our stay. For the price we pay, we expect more than just a great view.

Our room and balcony could use more cleaning. It's not pleasant staying in the balcony during our stay. Just appreciate the view inside the room.

Wifi is very weak inside the room and as well as the cable TV signal, so there's not much you can do. And would not recommend for a 'remote working' location.

The bathroom is a bit old. Some bathroom fixtures need a refresh and some are broken. The shower head above the bathtub doesn't work well, the water sprayed everywhere.

For their price rate, there are a lot of hotels in Tagaytay that will be more worth it. The place is basically like a house that needs to be maintained and upgraded, but with a great view.

On the positive side, lobby is clean and the staff are hospitable and helpful. And there is air purifier inside the room.

We stayed in one of their suites on the upper floor and the room and bathroom is so spacious. Although from the outside the building looks like it needs major repainting, we had a relaxed comfy stay. The bed is so comfortable to sleep in and the bathtub is so ideal to soak into. We were just worried because there’s no guard on duty at night while the location is a bit off road. Aside from the front desk staff , there was only one staff who assisted us when we arrived. My sister and I found it a bit funny to have the same guy from concierge to serve us our coffee in the room. Anyway, the view from our room is the lake and mountain ridge and it’s quite spectacular specially when the clouds look so near while passing carried away by the wind. We were planning to try glamping or bonfire while eating s’mores but it was so windy during our stay so we decided not to. It’s a dog friendly place and they allow your fur babies inside the room. Breakfast included and it’s good. This is a cool place to unwind and to just admire the scenic view.

The place was very good and clean. Staff were accommodating and friendly. They don't charge corkage fee for outside food or drinks which is a plus point for me. The only issue we had was there is no convenience store or even a small one nearby. If you don't have your personal car, you will have to wait for a passenger tricycle or walk (like what we did) from the hotel to the highway and go a bit farther so you can reach a supermarket or a mall. Apart from that, I really enjoyed my stay and hoping to come back soon.

Super love the place! The Master room's bathtub is so beautiful for pictorial and the Premium room's view is very relaxing. We super enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness of the place. We had our food set-up in our room and also requested for a romantic dinner set-up. The staff was very accomodating. It could have been better if there would be more promos and discounts. WE SUPER LOVE THE PLACE. And recommend this place!! For improvement, some plumbing fixtures need to be sealed because there are some leaks in the bathroom, but it did not bother us that much. We will surely come back and book the Premium room! 😍

The house is great, location and view is amazing. Parking is just sufficient for all guests. Food is great and better pricing than other restaurants in Tagaytay in terms of quality and quantity. One comment though for housekeeping to clean the airconditioning unit of their rooms to clean out the dusts. The air purifier wont do the trick. Overall excellent stay for a private time with nice view of taal. 4.5 out of 5.

The location of this boutique hotel is very near Palace in the Sky and Tagaytay Highlands. It's on a side road far from the main ridge road, so it offers a lot of privacy and quiet. The rooms are well-appointed. I could imagine booking the entire place for a family get-together for a major celebration. It appears most, if not all, the rooms have great views of the volcano. I was just a bit disappointed with the quality of the breakfast (small servings and mediocre coffee ). Nearby (5 minutes by car) is the very charming Cafe Voila which serves all-day breakfast and Thai food.

We wanted to give the kids a fun vacation since they were not allowed to be outdoors because of the pandemic. Booked 2 rooms for a quick staycation with the family and in laws. Rooms were not too clean, balcony lights were busted and they did not even bother checking it prior to our check in, and balcony is not that clean either. A staff kept on removing his mask when no one’s around. He did not put it on when he was wiping some of the utensils as well.

When we got to the hotel on our first day, there was even a mixed up of the rooms which caused a bit of a hassle. It was disappointing since I gave instructions prior to check in. Signal was weak to none. Wifi did not work most of the time. Paying through credit card upon check out took us about 30 mins or more because they can’t get signal from inside the hotel.

Overall our stay was okay because of the view and it was nice to get away from Manila even for just a few days but I do hope they can give some attention on the rooms too. It really needs major cleaning especially during this pandemic.

During our stay at 8 suites, I was incredibly disappointed. We had booked a room with a great view of Taal lake, but that's not what we got. I kept calling their customer service number because of an issue with Agoda, but no one ever answered, even by email. When we arrived at the room it looked unkempt and neglected; there was dust all around the room and furniture, and the curtains were in desperate need of replacement. Worst of all, there was no hot water for us to shower in - something that we weren't warned about beforehand.

Since we were staying in their Garden View Room, our door could not be locked properly which caused us some security concerns. All in all, this experience turned out to be a complete disaster which left me feeling frustrated and let down.

The hotel values client's safety. All the staffs are very accommodating. They gave us a free upgrade since glamping during our stay is not possible. They also offered to cook for us since the griller is unavailable due to the typhoon. Loved how thick the fog is and we were lucky to enjoy the view at the very last minute!

Haven't tried it myself, but I have seen their garden and the view from it with my own eyes. Assuming the tent would be set up on the garden, you're in for a treat! Just a note, it gets really, really cold at night. So you might want to consider that before deciding to sleep outdoors, especially if you have kids with you. The wind blows pretty wild at night too, so a rocking tent is to be expected. It also rains a lot here in the Philippines from September to December, so be prepared for a little mud in the grass and around the tent.
