What a beautiful place! It is safe. The hippos in the river keeps one entertained with their calling. Lechwe and cattle to be seen too. Crocodiles are lurking, so keep kids away from the river. There is a beautiful restaurant and swimming pool, gardens. Various activities are offered. The staff are well trained and very friendly

Situated about 20 mins outside Maun, visited for a 1 night stopover, beautiful situation running down to the river, lodges are basic, quite dark, lovely views, fantastic bird life both in the grounds and on the river, evening meal and breakfast were good but little choice and v dark so we couldn’t see what we were eating but thought that there was “more quantity than quality”. Overall good for 1 night stopover but wouldn’t want to stay longer.

We stayed in a family chalet. We were very impressed by the location next to the Thamalakane River. The hospitality team was first class, birdwatching was excellent and both our river tour and trip to Moremi gave us the opportunity to see many new birds. The staff at the restaurant were very careful to address.food restrictions for our group and always verified the menu to make sure it was OK. We will be back!

Thamalakane River Lodge was the perfect hotel to spend a night in Maun before we headed out on safari later the next day. Our room was spacious, well equipped (tea kettle and wonderful teas), bathroom was amazing and everything perfectly clean and fresh. Like most rooms, we have huge sliding glass doors that looked out onto the river and even had a couple of hippos lounging across the river from us. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and staff could not have been more wonderful. If your travels take you through Maun, you definitely want to stay here!

We spent 2 nights as a rest stopover in this nicely appointed lodge outside Maun. Pleasant rooms, well maintained garden/riverfront area (and there was water in the river), comfortable individual chalets and a small pool to cool off in. The restaurant was clean and well presented with friendly staff and very acceptable food. Itis quite a busy enterprise and clearly the manager keeps a careful eye on what is going on. It is about 20 mins into Maun but, as elsewhere in Botswana, beware of sneaky speed traps! No real downside and a good spot to recharge batteries after a long flight or drive before moving on. We have stayed at other places on the outskirts of Maun in the past and this is certainly amongst the best so far.

We were a group of 13 ladies who went on a delta safaris and spent a night in the lodge. We had a great experience. The tented camp were very neat and well structured, camp staff were very helpful and friendly. The chef prepared delicious food and the guide(Happy) was very entertaining. The sighting of all the game and birds were great during the boat trip.

The staff are super friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the views are spectacular both from the dining area and the rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean, however note that there is no fridge or air-conditioning in the rooms, but there is a ceiling fan, which suited me just fine. My friends and I also did the Moremi day safari which was absolutely amazing and worth the trip! I would and plan on staying again.

Amazing location for setting out for Moremi by 4x4.Delicious food! The rooms beautifully furnished---amazing views over the tranquil waters of the river. All in all a 5* stay. The staff were charming and attentive--it will be great when the larger pool is installed. August 2022

We spent 6 nights at the lodge, and after being disappointed both with the absence of the promised pool and the location and quality of the room (nr 16), we were allowed to move to nr 5 which faces the river unobstructed which made all the difference. In the end we very much enjoyed our peaceful time at the lodge, sitting on the deck of our hut, lingering after meals looking out over the river, and chatting with the staff. I particularly want to thank the staff, they worked hard, always with a smile and a joke, to give us the best experience possible. Many thanks, and we hope to come back!
