Another fantastic visit to Mopiri with Roots & Journeys. Right from the start of our three days there we were looked after so well. It is such a superb place to relax with not a care in the world, well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The new main building is wonderful and has a superb view over the vast expanse of water. Our boat trips in the channels were exciting, sometimes meeting some friendly hippos on the way and our attempts at fishing was such fun. All in all accommodation, food and the staff looking after us were exceptional. Well done to Arona who was in charge of staff and housekeeping and a special mention to Caprio who as always had a huge smile on his face and was an excellent barman, keeping us well watered! Last but not least Moffat was a very knowledgeable guide and filled us full of interesting facts regarding the channels and surrounding area. Well done Mopiri!

We had a perfect stay at Mopiri in June 2022 for our honeymoon. The definition of "off-the-beaten-track", this secluded camp was a literal island paradise! Our guide Moffat was fantastic - he was so knowledgeable about all the wildlife (birds, mammals, plants, reptiles) and we had a wonderful couple of days exploring the Delta with him (particularly the Mokoro ride and staying over on the fly camp!). Mopiri itself is stunning - the rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms offer a loo with a view right across the water! We had a lovely time relaxing by the firepit, and Caprio - wonderful Caprio - is the best barman/ waiter in the entire world! His never-ending smile made us happy (that, and the never-empty- glasses of wine!). The staff could not have done anything more for us - and even created an intimate dinner table down by the water for our dinner (as we were the only guests). The food was amazing as well! It was incredibly special and we will treasure it always. I also got a hot stone massage which was incredibly relaxing and topped off the whole experience! Thank you Mopiri - we will never forget you! Binita & Will

This was a highlight of our trip across Namibia and Northern Botswana. We spent two nights here with our children aged 12 and 15 who were enthusiastic about this place and its staff, in particular our guide BT. The atmosphere was pleasant, we felt being treated as special guests. The food was like home made, nothing posh but very tasty. Our waiter/barman Caprio always had an irresistible smile on his face. We made an overnight trip to a mobile camp in the heart of the delta combined with a mokoro ride and a walking safari; this was a very special experience itself. We have loved our stay in Mopiri Camp!

What a wonderful experience with rooms on the permanant water, the rooms are nestled under huge trees and sunrises and sunsets are to die for. Our highlight was the Mokoro trip. This was in an amazing area inside the delta. The sundowner cruise takes you to the opposite side of the lagoon to see Africa’s most amazing sunsets. The plane ride in was also a huge bonus. The more stops you get along the way, the luckier you are. A beautiful, affordable, romatic getaway.

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Mopiri! This was the last of three camps for us. Staying in a water based camp was very different than the land based game drive camps we stayed in previously. The pace was slower (later wake up calls!) and more relaxing. The feel of the common areas and your luxurious and spacious private tent makes you feel like you are on your own Caribbean island in some ways. The foliage is so lush with literally thousands of birds and lots of mischievous monkeys. One night on our way back to our tent, we saw a hippo grazing behind our tent. The staff were all so warm and accommodating. We enjoyed having our guide and/or hostess join us for dinner and chat around the fire before dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, the best of the three camps! The pool was very nice for cooling off in the afternoons between activities. My favorite part was zooming through the narrow channels in the boat with birds flying all around us. Our guide, Chillie B, was very knowledgeable about all of the birds. He could spot them from far away and knew them by their calls. Plus, he was just a lot of fun to be with. We enjoyed the peaceful mokoro ride and walking safari experiences too. I am so glad we included Mopiri in our trip!
