This business runs individual chalet huts with thatched roof and central restaurant. They have one hut with small kitchenette area if you want to do your own meals. For the person not wanting to stay near the hectic downtown area this is the place to be! Nice walking paths to the seasonal river and along the city watershed reserve forest. We spent parts of several days birdwatching in these areas away from the hustle and bustle of town. The staff is excellent and the facilities, while dated, are kept spotless clean. Highly recommended!

We arrived at jump street chalets and asked the reception lady if she had rooms available. She said that she only had 3 rooms left (at that moment nobody was there) so we were lucky as we were with the 3 of us. They showed us the rooms which were very basic but after a long drive from north gate we were not to critical. Price per room 650 pula excluding breakfast. My room did not have a key (they only found out after I unpacked) and had to repack and move to another room (were they not fully booked..?). Beds were terrible, mattresses should have been replaced years ago. We did not have water which was not disclosed when we came in. Reception staff was friendly but dishonest about the facility. This place needs a serious upgrade (everything is very old) else it will die very soon. Positive thing was that we got a discount because of the water issue.

We stayed two nights at Jump Street Chalets after a long and tiring drive , and found them clean and comfortable at a price that suited our budget, the meals were quite good and there was a pool in the grounds .the bar stock was quite limited , and like most African accomodations very poor internal lighting ,you need your head torch to see into your bags , and the plumbing is always a mystery. A little bit dificult to find on your first visit. We would stay there again if need be .

About a 15 minute drive from Maun airport to Jump Street Chalets. The real test of any hotel is would I stay here again and the answer is yes. We were once again laying over before our Safari and apart from one other guest were the only people staying here. It is faded but characterful and quirky. The water pressure is good and showers are hot and the rooms in circular "shamba" style perfectly adequate. A small swimming pool with four sunbeds, one on each side, gave us somewhere to sit and watch the prolific birdlife in the surrounding scrub. The staff are really pleasant and we preordered our dinner and breakfast so they knew what time we were dining. The meat on my steak burger was pretty chewy but everything was cooked freshly with excellent vegetables and fries and we were watched expectantly by three or four of the resident cats and kittens. Expect a bed and breakfast style establishment rather than a hotel and you will not be disappointed.

Although I have booked and confirmed several times from Italy, the day before the arrival of my group of 18 people including 7 children, when I called for the last confirmation, they told me that they had no place forcing me to find a ' other accommodation in a short time and without an internet connection an alternative with a higher cost than agreed with the Jumpstreet.

The chalets are surround by a lovely garden, situated close to the river, gives you that felling of the wild, and its not far from town. The staff is very friendly and helpfull with booking activities. Nice breakfast in a lovely garden. Very secure and with parking.

Nice grounds. Our room was decent. It was clean but quite dark. Tv worked first day but not the second. Food in restaurant is poor as is the breakfast. Nothing in the immediate area. Taxi required to do anything. The main staff very helpful. General staff quite apathetic.

A friendly place, rural feeling although it is a 5 minutes drive (or 20 Pula taxi) to the centre and supermarket Choppies. Nice staff, clean rooms, new sheets every day, clean swimmingpool. Wifi is unfortunately only available near the reception and stronger signal in the morning. The garden is full of birds. You can walk to the riverside. We had a very tasteful and rich lunch-and dinner buffetlunch in Maun Lodge (160 Pula). In the evening Jump Street is very quiet and safe, parking inside. They can make you a steak or hamburger. We stayed here for 1 week (business) and 4 days (leisure). The award they recently received for female entrepreneurship is well deserved.

I was reluctant to book in family based on reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised with the state of the place. The place is in a semi-rural area of Maun. It's a fair reflection of the environment in which it is. It is rustic and beautiful in its own way. We arrived well after midnight but we found someone waiting for us to check in. We also booked a one-day Safari to Moremi Game Reserve, and it was fantastic. On the down side is the breakfast quality. Also, the family chalet actually has only one bedroom with three beds without any form of separation. If booking for family I'd suggest booking more than one chalet or some other place with more than one bedroom. It's a good thing that we were courteously accommodated in two chalets as a family. Maun in general has high potential as a destination. The government of Botswana should do much more than it's currently doing (which is not much) to assist tourism businesses in the area e.g. Cleaning up of streets, maintenance and upkeep of access roads, and installation of proper signage.
