A genuine bush experience close to the convenience of Maun and the stunning beauty of the Okavango Delta. Tshima Bush Camp is a small, intimate camp close to Maun, the iconic safari town of Botswana. It is situated on 30 hectares of natural bush with direct access to the Nhabe river. Our Meru style tents provide comfort and lots of privacy. Walking trails invite guests to explore the area. You may find duiker, aardvark and a huge variety of birds. From time to time, elephants pass by as well and hippos inhabit the river. The camp serves as an excellent spot to spend the night while travelling between various treasures in Botswana. Furthermore, it is a perfect base for exploring nearby natural treasures such as the world-famous Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Nxai Pan National Park. The village of Komana is located close by and can be explored to get a glimpse of Botswana village life. Tshima Bush Camp is easy to reach via a good quality tar road, just a 25-minute drive from Maun.

A great stop pre or post a delta safari - we stayed for our first night in Botswana before our 10 night safari & found it perfect to get into the bush spirit. Russell & Verena are incredibly welcoming & you feel like a part of the family (including the 2 dogs, several cats & many chicken) almost immediately.
The 4 tents are great & ideal for a sanity check after a long day travelling from the UK with the usual airport hustle & bustle that goes with that - yes the camp is 35/40 mins outside Maun but once you arrive you receive a genuine warm welcome & can relax in the bush. Verena is a great cook & we enjoyed an excellent meal & had a pre-dinner sundowner overlooking the river a short walk behind camp seeing pelicans & kingfishers.
Thanks for looking after us guys & hope you have a great season.

If you are looking for a beautiful, very family place with perfect service and star-worthy food, you have to go to Verena and Russell at the Tshima Bush Camp.
With fresh products Verena and Russell made the best dinner I‘ve ever had in Namibia or Botswana.
In the morning you get a breakfast with freshly squeezed juice, homemade bread, fresh fruits and the best, they bring it to your tent.
Thank you both for a wonderful stay with you. Next time we‘ll stay longer.

Verena and Russell have created a wonderful gem in the middle of the African bush. Great hosts with first-class food, lovingly furnished tents as an overnight location and great dogs plus countless domestic and wild cats. Dinner was fantastic, whether a great soup, a remarkable main course and a fantastic mousse aux chocolate dessert.

Tshima Bush Camp is a perfect stop in Maun on your way to the Delta. The quiet and secluded location, the excellent “tents” if you can call it that, the beautifully maintained braai and dining area - it beats anything in Maun.
The food Verena and Russel are preparing is always top notch. I always take my overseas clients to Tshima as I don’t have to worry about their consistency in brilliant service and personal attention - unlike some other overpriced lodges.

+1
By far the best hosts on our tour of Namibia and Botswana. The tents were lovingly decorated and clean. The food was incredibly delicious and prepared with a lot of heart. Russel and Verena organized a mokoro trip in the delta for us and gave us a mega-tasty packed lunch. Breakfast is delivered directly to the tent in a picnic basket. With homemade yoghurt, bread and lots of treats. We came to this lodge as strangers and left as friends. If we come to this area again, this lodge will be the only one for us. Dear Verena, dear Russel, we talk about you very often, we wish you all the best and hope to see you again.

We stayed for an evening with Russell and his wife, a wonderful welcome that we all won't soon forget. A real moment of sharing in this idyllic place in the heart of nature. We will never forget our last evening at your place with the hot water bottles because it was a little cold. Alexis, Murielle, Popo, Chantal Thierry.

You can rest assured Russell and Verena will treat you like queens/kings. We arrived at Tshima Bush Camp after days of game drive and camping and stayed a couple of nights. Apart from the delicious home-made food, clean tents and quiet setting, we enjoyed cosy nights chatting to the couple, drinking beer and listening to african stories. If you are in Maun, make sure to stop there.

Coming back from Central Kalahari Game Reserve, we had a one-night stop at Tshima before heading to the Delta.
Arriving at Tshima was like coming home. We truly enjoyed this beautiful oasis in the middle of the dry season. The room was cosy and clean, dinner was cooked to perfection and the breakfast basket sent to the room the next morning was a delight.
Most of all, we were touched by Verena and Russell's warm welcome and kindness throughout our stay.
Thank you for having us in your home!
