The Waterfront was our starting point for a Trip to Northern Botswana and Vic Falls. We had a nice room with a large terrace looking over the local river. There is only a small number of rooms, but thats exactly the advantage. You can talk easily with other guests and the owner is presents and gives very helpful advice. Breakfast, parking space and cleanliness are all very good. The waterfront gets our recommendation!
This is a nice hotel in a quiet area not too far from the restaurants and airport. Room was clean and large with hot water in the shower. Wi-Fi worked well in the communal area. Efficient laundry service. Patrick was helpful in organising the airport pick up and has a local taxi driver that can take you to/ from restaurant which worked really well. Breakfast was continental which was acceptable, breads, yoghurts, boiled eggs, fruits plus an honesty bar is a nice touch.
After almost two weeks of camping we loved the calm and peaceful atmosphere at the waterfront. Great hospitality and friendly, helpful owner Patrick. We liked the German bread for breakfast, the view on the river and the refreshing pool. As the lodge is not connected to communal water, they have to pump and filter water from the river for the shower, but that was absolutely ok as there was drinking water provided in the fridge. We liked it and will return.
Patrick runs an excellent bed & breakfast overlooking the river. The rooms are very clean, with comfy beds, tea/coffee making facilities in each room, good en-suite with power showers and private balconies to enjoy the sunsets. Breakfast is a buffet style with breads/cakes made by his daughter which are just amazing, plenty of choices, with fruits, cereals, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, eggs etc. It is easy to see why he has so many returning guests, he also arranged a safari outing for us, along with suggesting and booking local restaurants for evening meals. He is an absolute gentleman and nothing is too much bother for him, he is a mine of advice and information having many years of experience with safaris and being able to put you in touch with reputable guides. We would not hesitate in recommending a stay with Patrick if you are in Maun.…
We had 2 nights at The Waterfront during a recent camping safari and cannot speak highly enough of the accommodation and staff. The rooms were just lovely with a balcony overlooking the river, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and a comfortable bed, complete with hot water bottles if required! There is a lovely outdoor pool but it was a bit too chilly to use it during our stay which was a pity. The continental breakfast was superb with so many choices, particularly the selection of breads available and we felt we really didn't do it justice! However, the best thing about The Waterfront is Patrick the owner. He's such a lovely man, very helpful, caring and considerate and a really interesting man to talk to. It really was a pleasure to spend time with him and his team. We will certainly stay at The Waterfront again if we are ever in Maun,…
This is a lovely place, we had two rooms both being very spacious and clean. Nice views off the river which happened to have a couple of lively Hippos in the morning we left. Breakfast was good and Patrick the owner was very helpful, his suggestion of the Okanogan Brewery for dinner on the Sunday was spot on. If I'm ever back in Maun will definitely stay here.
We stayed at the Waterfront with our family for two nights. What a lovely time we had. The hosts really make this a special place. They arranged for us a day outing. We took a guided tour up the Okavango in makoros and then went on a walking safari. It was brilliant! They also provided us with a delicious dinner one evening at the Inn and then recommended a fantastic restaurant in town for our other night. But what was most extraordinary was when we told them of our next stop they let us know that it was going to be impossible to do - road conditions and timing etc. I was heartbroken and concerned as to what we would do as we were a large group and didn't have anywhere else to stay. Well, they stepped in and saved our trip. They connected us to all the right places and people and we ended up staying in an incredible place and having a wonderful experience. They saved our trip and made it even more memorable! The stay at the Waterfront is also so wonderful and relaxing. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious. You can not go wrong staying at the Waterfront. We highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay again when we are back in Bostwana!!…
Had the privilege of staying here for a night in December on my way from Moremi to CKGR. What a lovely place to take a break! Or stay longer and explore Moremi. I was made so welcome from the minute I arrived until I left the next day, wishing I had time to spend another night! It is a tranquil oasis in a lovely setting, with everything you could wish for. I was going into Town for dinner, but got so engaged talking to the owner Patrick, who's knowledge of the reserves and routes is boundless and invaluable, I never got out to dinner! But it was made up for by sampling a bottle or two, of his excellent wine selection, and the amazing Breakfast spread the next morning, including a vast array of homemade cakes and pastries. Cannot recommend Waterfront highly enough!
We stayed at the Waterfront Maun for 4 nights, one night on our way for a lodge and three nights on our way home waiting for PCR tests. Patrick was an awesome host and it was a pleasure to stay at at his bed and breakfast. On the first night we did a small sundowner cruise and it was great to hear about the surrounding area from Patrick. He has a wealth of knowledge on the area. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable and his breakfasts were delicious. He recommended a few restaurants and even a Mokoro trip for us and we were not disappointed. The marshmallows around the camp fire and the gorgeous friendly cat were a highlight for our kids. Thank you for making our Maun stay so pleasant and we will hopefully be back soon!
The hosts really make this place, friendly, knowledgeable and they keep the hotel and its grounds well maintained. This was a forced layover for the Covid test, but I quite enjoyed it! We relaxed in the wonderful gardens next to the pool and shared experiences with the other guests over a beer or two. The rooms are basic, but large and clean with a view over the river. Patrick went out of his way to feed us in the evening, and the breakfast was homemade delicious. All the the logistics were well organised and it was refreshing to chat to Patrick. Would really recommend this hotel for your stopover or longer.
