Stayed at the Sedia Hotel on a driving trip through Botswana...and after camping for a couple of nights in Etosha the Sedia Hotel was an oasis of calm and comfort. Our room was newly renovated and very comfortable. Food and service were great. In particular we really appreciated Lorraine's help in sorting out a little confusion with our room, and Cecilia who took care of us at meal times (and taught us how to say thank you in Setswana!)
The Hotel is situated around 6km along the main road from the town and airport in beautiful grounds with a well maintained pool deck with a lovely poolside restaurant, which has a varied and very well executed menu. One wing of the hotel contains newly renovated rooms which are furnished to a very high standards, overlooking the restaurant & pool. I initially stayed in the other un renovated wing (which I believe is on the list to be renovated soon), on the opposite side of the property. These rooms are in need of a little attention but are none the less, spacious and well equipped with individual balconies. There are also several houses and chalets in the grounds if you want a more personal & luxurious experience. Although they decor in my room was a little disappointing, I was perfectly content here until the evening when the bar next to the hotel, which unfortunately is situated adjacent to this accommodation wing, opened and played loud, thumping club music way into the night. It became impossible to attempt sleep and resulted in a very uncomfortable sleepless night. It felt like the speakers were directly outside my door at one point. The following morning, the staff, especially Blessing, the customer service manager, were beyond helpful and moved me to the other side of hotel without question which meant I had 2 peaceful nights. I feel so sorry for the hotel and the staff who have to put up with this noise pollution, it’s totally unsociable. I fully appreciate that this problem is beyond the hotel’s jurisdiction and it appears they have had problems with the bar before, however a true mark of an establishment’s level of professionalism can only be measured by the exemplary way their staff deal with problems and I have no complaints there. So, if you manage to avoid the un renovated wing, or at least hope that the noise problems are resolved soon, this is a fabulous property and I’d return again.…
This is the fifth hotel/B&B I have stayed in, in Maun. It’s now with out a doubt my preference going forward. The room had been redone and whilst simple was spotless, with everything I could have needed available. The venue is quiet, no noisy conferences with load boisterous noises until the early hours of the morning and meals on the deck were really outstanding. If I wanted to sat anything negative, food orders take time but in my case was irrelevant. The food itself (I had two dinners there) was superb although breakfast is typical hotel fare but adequate
The Sedia hotel offers nice, clean amenities in room. We were traveling as part of a tour, and were delighted to see how clean and comfortable the rooms were. We laid poolside and enjoyed the sun, and had dinner at the hotel restaurant. There's a campsite available as well as the proper hotel rooms. The one downside was that the WiFi was not working when we were there, and there seemed to be a shortage of towels.
Ideal for a night or two before setting out on safari to the Delta. Refurbished bedrooms are very comfortable with both AC and a ceiling fan. The walk-in showers are good and the beds are comfortable. Unfortunately no room safes but there is a small fridge. The swimming pool is area is a pleasant place to relax with a drink from the well stocked poolside bar. Evening meals are eaten outside by the pool and are very good value. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient.
We were returning from camping in the bush, after 400 km of dirt road and sand..needed a rest in Maun before driving to Palapye. We decided to give this place a try, as it looked good in terms of reviews. The hotel is very old fashioned, and if one loves an ancient type of shower, cottage-like rooms, antiquate furniture...perfect. Dinner was good. But the big problem was breakfast. That was the epitome of disorganization. It appears that who comes first gets all and the others...almost nothing. We asked for juice, and they probably had to go to the nearest local market to buy some. There was nothing left after a group of people going to a safari got their meal before us...given that we were exceedingly tired after a long drive. So, I would not recommend this hotel if you love a good breakfast. I would recommend it if you love antiquate fixtures.…
I stayed here as part of an Intrepid trip both before and after going to the delta. The rooms were nice and had clearly recently been renovated. My only gripe was the shower is open which makes it a bit awkward when you have a roommate! I had dinner one evening in the hotel and it was really good. Would definitely recommend. On the second stay the room had been cleaned but the bin was full from previous guests.
Food for supper and breakfast excellent.bedroom very tired and needs modernisation.assistance with pcr certificate a farce.it had been sent to the director who was ‘travelling’ and could not be contacted, in the end we had to go to the clinic on way to the airport to obtain original cert. Needs to come up to standard of D&D lodges
I have been to this restaurant many times and at various occasions, but tonight, it was amazing, I ordered the lamb targine with couscous salad and pits for only P110, best Iv'e ever had, lamb was juicy and soft and I even ate the egg plant...which I hate, spice mix made me feel like I was in Morroco , couscous was still a bit bland and needed more herbs, but if you mixed it with the lamb...OMG, IMy husband said it was the best burger, and trust me, he loves his burger. Service is a little slow, but the wait is well worth it
We stayed here for 5 nights. Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Couldn’t have had a better time. The manager Blessing helped us with so many trips and always extremely lovely and helpful. Highly recommend this place to stay. Thank you so much!!!!
