Perfect place for a getaway. Love the reception from th host. Memories were mad but we shall visit once again soon. The boat cruise was perfect. Being tucked in the Delta was perfect for star gazing and that quick dip in the river brought childhood memories back.
It was very peaceful, very refreshing and beautiful! It was just what the doctor have ordered to increase my life span. The activities were amazing, likes of mokoro safari and horse riding just to mention a few I can't wait to be back again!
Visited Hippo island last month. Lovely place. Had a great time. Host organized all our external activities and was very flexible since some mornings I could not wake up. At times he was able to work according to our schedule at no extra cost. Highly appreciated it. Weather was also brilliant. And the island is full due to recent rains. Will be back!!!!
I would like to complain most strongly about one of your listings. It is the Hippo Island listing in the 'Okavango Delta'. We enquired about booking this listing with an operator on 6th January 2019. We were contacted by the owner, Loggy Omara and persuaded to book a safari tent directly with him as 'Safari Now payment process is a complicated and time consuming one'. Please see Loggy's email to me (below) Hi Steve Thank you so much for your confirmation. It will be better via the invoice I send you shortly to book direct, safari now payment process is a complicated and time consuming one. I will bill accommodation and meals and offer the meals at $30 per person as opposed to the $40 each. Thank you and looking forward We booked the safari tent for two nights and looked forward to our visit. Unfortunately the reality didn't live up to the expectation as when we arrived at Hippo Island on 18th June, a number of concerns were raised: The bathroom was not en-suite but comprised a shower bucket outside the tent. The toilets were a separate tent well away from our allocated tent. We were informed that we would have to arrange for hot water to be provided should we require showers! The lake was surrounded by cattle, goats, donkeys and dogs from the local village. The smell from them was horrendous. The camp had 4 dogs which appeared to belong to the camp manager and his family. The camp manager was not aware that we required evening meals in addition to breakfasts and was not able to cater for us. The bed linen was dirty and the pillows (two small cushions) were filthy. There were no signs to Hippo Island and had we encountered any problems, we would not have been able to direct emergency services to our location. In addition, we did not feel that the camp was secure either for our personal security or from hippos or other animals wandering through. Consequently we decided not to stay at Hippo Island and found alternative accommodation in Maun. I contacted Loggy and was promised a refund for the payment made, however, despite several emails since, the refund has not been made. Whilst we didn't book Hippo Island with Safari Now as we were coerced into booking directly, I feel that your clients should be made aware of the dangers in booking this accommodation.…
still need to have money back. We paid excursion flight for 2 person private flight. Loggy booked a shared flight. Up to now we didn't get the money back. We paid a significant amount for lunches and dinners. Only a very small fraction ended at the local host. No wifi, despite the fact booking.com form indicated it was presant
The Camp had everything what we needed and it was very comfortable. The Staff and Loggi where very helpfull and very friendly. We traveled as a Family (4 Adults and 2 Kids) and had the whole Camp for our selves which made the experience very personal/exclusiv. We had a great time with Makoro/Daytrip. The accomandation and surrounding area were very clean. The Food was very good and any wishes/requests where taken care of. The sundowners in front of the fire and waterfront where great. Its a good place to get away from hectic daily life. If we will visit sure we will make a booking by Hippo Island again. We can only Recomendet
Staff are frendly but i got bed bug bite all over my body~!! And the place is not quite that place on the map. It is more southen place and it is so far from okavanggo delt gate. If you are ok to sleep with bed bug, i recommend the place
