Our room (201) was compact (included a frig - yea!) and the bathroom was small, but everything you need was there. A desk with chair provided lots of counter space. Having the window open nearly all the time was fine (very little outside noise) and kept us nicely cool for sleeping. Front desk staff were all friendly and spoke English well. We never heard anything from downstairs, and very little from movement above us. We slept like babies, after lots of hiking!
There is a small seating area on the 3rd floor (where I did my yoga), and a cozy front room seating area with fireplace, TV and couches near the front door. Breakfast was pretty good. It was nice to be so close to the trailheads, so you could get breakfast at 0700 and still start hiking early. They do a load of laundry for 1500 pesos, which we thought was reasonable, and we didn't have to take it down the street. It was ready the next afternoon. Rooms and bathroom were very clean. The location at the entrance to town means you have to walk about 5-7 minutes to get to shops and restaurants. For others, the nearness of the bus station is probably a big plus. We never heard any road noise. We'd highly recommend this hotel.

The hosteria is located near the departure points to the various senderos. The rooms are small but very neat and well heated. Wi-Fi is available in the rooms and in the rest of the hosteria. El Chaltén is not cheap in general and if you like to go hiking, it will cost you some euros soon! You pay 30 euros per person on the first trail and the next day you pay another 15 euros per person to walk the senderos. This is what the government decided last week.

We absolutely loved staying at Hosteria Senderos! It felt like a true bed and breakfast where the staff cares about and is proud of their business and guests. The staff were very kind and willing to give honest recommendations for anything we needed while staying in El Chaltén.
Our room was very comfortable and had a direct view of Fitz Roy and the surrounding mountains. We were also easily able to take photos next to the famous "El Chaltén" sign on our way to every hike, so it was fun to see how the mountain clouds changed in each picture we took!
The breakfast spread was laid out early and one of the staff made us eggs to order every morning which was a perfect way to start off our days of hiking.

On the outskirts of El Chalten, almost opposite the bus station and the tourist information centre, is this cosy hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had room 107 located directly on the hallway to dining area. A room that is simply too small. In fact, we couldn't really get rid of our bags. We have had a lot of noise, especially from our upstairs neighbors. The rooms are too noisy. Unfortunately the hotel was full and we could not get an alternative. This is actually the only, but big flaw of this hotel. The plumbing is fine. The shower is one of the best we have had in our trip. The hotel also offers dinner. With 110,000 pesos (€105) Not cheap, there are cheaper alternatives in the village, but the quality is more than fine. Breakfast will do. There is plenty of choice. Notable is the ‘living room’. A very pleasant place to have a drink. Oh yes, feel free to buy your drink or snack at the supermercado or mikrokiosk. You can just eat this in the common room. In fact you are offered a cold beer glass 😀. From the hotel it is 1.8km walk to the (new) entrance of Parque Nacional de los Glaciares. You then walk through San Martin, the main street of El Chalten with many ho(s)tels, shops and restaurants. We can highly recommend Hosteria Senderos although we hope they can do something about soundproofing. 69 points

We really loved our stay here, either side of four days trekking in Los Glaciares. El Chalten is pretty small so nowhere is far from anywhere which means the hotel is within walking distance of all the cafes shops and restaurants. Everyone who works here is really nice and helpful and they happily stored our luggage and did our laundry while we were on our trek. Breakfast is good and there is a very nice relaxing lounge in the entrance. We had dinner here once which was good but there are some interesting restaurants in town so we ate out on other nights. There was a little noise from a nearby bar at chucking out time but it wasn’t too bad. Good showers and plenty of hot water - very important after a hard day trekking.

In a town that revolves around outdoors sports like hiking and rafting, it’s nice to find the kind of hotel that is the opposite of “roughing it.” Not to say that the hotel doesn’t have rustic charm—-it has that South America meets the Alps feel—but everything here is of high quality and design. From the wood beams and floors, to the sitting room by the fireplace, everything exudes comfort. So nice after a day of over a dozen miles of hiking and climbing.
We stayed over Christmas, and had a festive four course Christmas Eve dinner. The staff was ever helpful and especially delighted that we had such a lovely Christmas so far from home (Ohio).
Some photos may suggest that the hotel is isolated and perched at the base of the mountains. It is solidly in town, sandwiched between other buildings on the block, but we had a little belt view of Mt Fitzroy out our bedroom window.
Everything in town is in walking distance, and there are so many great places to eat and drink. A highlight of our Patagonia trip for sure!

We recently returned from an amazing trip to Argentina which included 3 nights at Hosteria Senderos in El Chalten. The hotel was charming and the rooms tasteful and cosy. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and other meals at the guesthouse, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were given advice on activities, restaurants etc. Would recommend this lovely guesthouse.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at Hosteria Senderos, our base for tackling the famous Laguna de los Tres hike.
The hotel in El Chalten, Hosteria Senderos, was rustic and cozy with friendly staff. The lobby / dining area was snug and fairly packed in the mornings with fellow hikers getting ready to set out for the day. Buffet breakfast was included with the reservation. Our room was on the first floor just off to the right from the lobby; while this was a good thing in that we did not have to carry our gear bags very far but it meant there was a fair amount of noise. But it didn’t bother on our second night as we slept a deep sleep following our exhausting hike to Laguna de los Tres.
The room was tiny as was the bathroom. The bed was comfy. There was no street noise to bother us and while a building was being constructed next door there was no working going on at night. The safe was tiny, certainly not big enough for a laptop, just enough for a standard iPad.
We decided to have a late evening snack and wine; upon the suggestion of our server we bought a bottle of Patagonian red wine, had one glass each and saved the rest of the bottle for our dinner the next day (see below).
As has been noted the hotel is located right at the entrance to the small town, after crossing the river Rio Fitz Roy, turning right off the traffic circle. There is a restaurant in the hotel but we decided to walk around the town and eat elsewhere that first evening. The downside to its peripheral location made itself felt the following evening. Nearly exhausted after having completed our Laguna de los Tres hike we were a little annoyed that the hotel was literally on the other side of town, 1.8 kilometers away. Granted what was one more mile after the many we had already put behind us? Furthermore, as our guide cheerfully reminded us, it was all flat and paved to the hotel.
We had reserved our dinner at Hosteria for 7:30pm after freshening up following our strenuous hike to Laguna de los Tres; we had correctly assumed we would not be in any shape or mood to walk back into town after that hike. Upon our return they informed us that a group of 17 had also reserved that time for their dinner and suggested that we start earlier at 7 or at a later time after the group dinner. We could also keep the time but with the understanding that the service by the small kitchen might be slowed by having to cater to the large group. We appreciated their offer and took the earlier spot and our food arrived promptly and well-prepared.
The hotel certainly felt appropriate for the frontier town feeling of El Chalten. WiFi was spotty, not just in Hosteria Senderos, but also at another restaurant in town. The ATM at the bus stop did not function.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The hotel is conveniently located for the bus station but is a bit of a step from the start of the Fitzroy trails. Our room was quite small and simply furnished but perfectly adequate. We ate dinner in the hotel both nights and the food and wine were good and reasonably priced. What really made our stay was the friendly atmosphere and the staff who really went out of their way to help us get the best out of our time in this fantastic place.

El Chaltén is a fantastic place. Very few places on earth offer breathtaking views of the mountains comparable to what you will find here. There are great hikes you can do right from the village. The hotel is comfortable (I slept very well after our hikes) and quiet. Breakfast is good. Wifi worked well (we did not watch movies, just browsing the internet). The women at the reception desk are all very friendly and helpful. When we checked in, the young woman at the desk gave good hiking advice, which we followed, and we had a great time. We were so lucky to have warm, sunny days without noticeable wind and had great views of Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitzroy on the hikes that we did. There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel (El Chaltén is a small town). No matter where you have travelled, you will find that mountains around El Chaltén are spectacular.
